Good Morning Campers! Donating blood this morning. I do double red. This does two things for me, get Red Cross off my back for something like 104 days and the wife can't get me to do any heavy lifting today.

Kind of strange watching playoff basketball and the Heat nowhere to be seen. Guess I'll have to root for the teams with former Gators on them.

So, did anyone else have their workday come to a screeching halt due to a mass evacuation order because some jackwad tried to drive a car bomb onto post? thankfully, a sharp eyed guard saw something suspicious.

Sorry to hear but glad not serious and just a nut job. Had several school bomb threats around here this week and though nothing came of them still makes you think.

A fun day. After 4 ten hour work days driving to campus, today was a day off. I went in the office to submit my travel voucher and then played tennis again this AM. After reheating my homemade chili, I did Somme laundry and grocery shopping. Getting ready to take my oldest dd to swim practice, and then it's time for some bourbon.
Well, I know my pro career never was. I'll try a couple local tournaments this year

Good to see the tennis game is still going strong. The bourbon sounds good as well and needed some after the Whipping the Hawks took last night - never good to have your #1 goalie go in the toilet at the start of the playoffs. We survived just fine last night supporting the Howks proudly as ther were Hawk fans everywhere last night.

Morning, Men (almost noon!)

Been away from this neck of the woods for a week or so. Was down and out last week with what ended up being strep throat. I'm on the mend now and trying to get back into the swing of things. Gonna go back and catch up on some of the posts to see what I was missing.

Morning all. A bad weekend for youth sports here. Younger dds soccer team got smoked in local sponsored tournament. The only positive takeaway was ...... Um ......... Er......... it's over.

On the good news side, DW gave the green light for a 2nd vacation this year. It probably won't be fall break, but maybe we can pull the kids out of school 2 days over Thanksgiving week. Problem is that I didn't budget a WDW vacation for this year, but maybe I can find enough $ for a week at Vero Beach.

I've been giving the events of this past Friday some thought and two things occurred to me. Ordering a mass evacuation was kind of stupid. We had something like four thousand people trying to leave post using two access points, putting all of us on one two lane road. What if this had been a planned, coordinated event and additional VBIEDs had been placed at these points, or gunmen with automatic weapons, hand grenades, etc? We would have been sitting ducks. The other thought was that this was some sort of probe, to gauge the level of security we had. Maybe it's time to roll out one of B.A Baracus' custom vehicles. (Wonder's who'll catch the reference.)

In-laws came down for 3 hours yesterday. A ten hour trip to deliver their old catnapper loveseat. They went out and bought a truck to do it. I don't even try to figure them out. They also are coming to The World the same time we are going for our anniversary trip. yeah. Not sure when they will think we will see each other... different resorts, different meal plans, etc. Thinking this will not be the trip we had hoped for.

Pretty happy with DS and the rest of his middle school school volleyball team. I've been coaching them for 3 seasons and it is all starting to come together for them. We went 6 and 0 this weekend (never even lost a set) to win our second tournament of the year. Seeing lots of good things from this group of young men!

I'm sure a spot of bourbon made the visions of the tournament fad a bit.

The evec plan doesn't sound to have been particularly smart, that bit of it may need a rethink.
