DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning guys.

I'm spending all day in a meeting with the government, suppose to tell them where they can cut 9.4% of their budget. This should be a fun day.

Have a good one!

Today is a good day; there is someone in more trouble than I am! A lady a few offices down the hall got a delivery of roses with balloons and a stuffed animal. I asked her if it was her anniversary or birthday and she said neither. :confused3 Had me confused. Why else would you spend that kind of money? Turns out it was as an apology from her husband. He must have really screwed up. Good to know there are others dumber than I am out there.

At the very least, it's always comforting to know that there are others in the exact same boat!

Good luck with that one. If its anything like the government groups I have worked with their cost should only go up 10% to figure out where to cut the 9%

Sounds like a real productive day!

Actually it wasn't too bad. We focused on having them thinking of making strategic investments and to looking to groups such as our to actually manage programs. They have been cut by 10% as it is so finding another 9.4% in a small department like tourism wouldn't be easy. 80% of our provincial budget goes to health, education and social services; departments that have no real revenue generation capabilities. A department like tourism can actually be used to generate income for the province.

And they gave us lunch.

Checking in, forgot to pass on condolences to the Bruins fans Jim & Rob but then again you do have the Patriots so all is not that bad.

I like starting out meetings like that with "how about if we stop having meetings like this one and focus on actually getting things done instead of yapping about what to do"

Maybe those 80 percenters could help generate revenue by getting money from Pharma companies for experiments on health care customers. On the education side, maybe hire out the school cafeteria and auditoriums for weddings and the like. Social services could be tough but there has to be some reality TV shows in there somewhere.

!

The easy answer is stop having meetings. Another option is to get rid of executive government bloated salaries who don't do any work. That should save over 50%.

I like starting out meetings like that with "how about if we stop having meetings like this one and focus on actually getting things done instead of yapping about what to do"

If it weren't for meetings, these government executives wouldn't have anything to do. :lmao:

Meetings. Because none of us is as unproductive as all of us.

Morning guys,

The Brit leaves tonight and to end the trip we drove to Key Largo yesterday to see friends and have lunch.

Still having issues with the computer so I am posting using my iPad. Tough to download pics so what I post here may be disjointed and random.

The gang heading out for the first dives of the trip

On the way out. One thing about the trips is they were longer boat rides than we were used to. Averaged about an hour and one took two hours just to get to the site. Rainbow was a nice omen.

Some spray got on the camera housing

More later

Top O the Morning Dads! Great day as the NHL Playoffs start tonight. Living here in Nashville with the Preds Playing the Blackhawks is creating some good bantering as DS wore his Hawks jersey to school today and I have a Hawk stuff all over my office - GO HAWKS!

I don't know. Maybe we should schedule a conference call to discuss it.
You can't just jump right into a conference call! You have to have a pre-meeting to plan what you're going to talk about on the conference call. Bonus points if you can have everyone involved in the planning meeting that will be in the actual meeting. Double bonus if you can actually have more people involved.

Still fighting the download battle but got this from an email. These are three of the co-conspirators. The kid is on the right showing off her new diving headband. She is a Hippie at heart.

I guess one cone got tired of just sitting around.

Morning Gents.

Spending the day reviewing resumes for consultant position and a couple of applications to run an athletics program.

All in all, I wish I was back in Florida.

Have a good one.
