Hummm… Rather a specific choice for a sudden desire to relocate (unless a job offer was involved).
Anything in particular prompt her interest?

The big draw for her is John Hagee and the Cornerstone Church. She watches them every week and thinks it would be great to be part of the congregation. For me, I'm liking the idea of moving somewhere where there is no personal income tax and great weather. Florida came to mind for me... but DW has been there and has no desire to ever live in a state where bugs are bigger than your hand. :lmao:

Already home, Audrey is playing her "i'm sick" game:headache: so here I am.Naps are in order.Quite the downpour, I was spaked through by the time I got home.

Morning Guys, happy Tuesday.

I played my first soccer game of the season last night and today my friend is a guy called Aleve. :goodvibes

Have a good one.
How'd it go?

Aleve seems less effective to me lately

I think the NBA should buy it back from him at the original purchase price of $15 Million, add 1% interest annually for good measures, and give the remaining $900 Million to the Disdads to manage. I, logically, as manager of the dues, would also manage that money. :lmao:
:

If that pans out I just would like a DVC contract, I'd be happy.

Soccer - won 4-3

Aleve - being a good friend.

Ahhhh… got it.
So what’s her take on scorpions then? :rotfl2:

Actually, if you were to look farther into it that should be an interesting comparison, as there are always tradeoffs from one place to another.

Tornadoes vs hurricanes (an equal trade there)

Less humidity, but no ocean just blocks from the house

1200 miles to WDW instead of the current 780ish (but you do get to drive through New Orleans)

The lack of income tax is a mighty good pro, but states generally make up for that in other ways. Fees for licenses, tags permits and such are likely higher. A little looking showed that property tax on a 200k house will be near 5000 to 6000 annually and sales taxes are better than 8%. All that might still work out better in total depending on what your use to in total up in VA though.

So any of you guys live or have lived in San Antonio, TX?

I have....one of the few places outside of the Southeast I will voluntarily go to.

The Cheetah made it back to school and I made it home. Interesting flight. Took a little while to get on the plane and a more than a little while sitting on the tarmac in Miami waiting for a gate to open up. For all of you that have flown into or out of MIA, my apologies. Despite the billions spent improving the airport it is still one of the worst in the world.

 On regular occasion....I hate that place with blue blooded passion (sorry man).

It'll take until Wednesday to get back to normal...:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have heard that it's more of a dry heat over there. Whereas here in Va Beach it could be 90 degrees and feel like 110 with all the humidity here.

So... just how hot is "hot as balls"? :rotfl2:

Iraq was a dry heat too.....stick your head in an oven and tell me how cool you thing it is...

On the second part....if you have to ask, you don't want to know...

Tornadoes vs hurricanes (an equal trade there)

Ummm....No...you see a hurricane coming well in advance.

Prayers to anyone affected by the tornadoes going on now.

I've only been back from WDW now two weeks and I'm ready for another vacation. The weather is better now (except for these storms). I don't get it. I know work stinks, but it usually takes me a month or so of dreading to return to the office. I can't be going thru a mid-life crisis because that would involve too much effort. :lmao:

While it may seem so, October isn't that far off. Hang in there. Just think of the drinks I owe you.

Looks like there may be some openings at the pro level for you as well. Which one is worse - Clippers, Dolphins, or Marlins?

Until a few days ago, the Marlins, now i would say the Clippers. Try talking a free agent into joining the team. Good luck with that.

Got back from WDW late last night:sad:

But I did have a few first's:confused3

- I flew on a plane:scared1: It had a few intense moments but all in all it was not bad:)

- We are now AP holders ...

Congrats on both. I love to fly, it is just the crap you have to go through to get on the plane that is bad.

I was just thinking that same thing yesterday. Basically, now he's billionaire NBA owner. If they force him to sell his team, he's still going to get a fair market value for it, so he'll just be a billionaire with more cash. :confused3

The guy is a dirtbag billionaire and from what I am reading he was always a dirtbag. I suggest a players only meeting with the owner.

Back to school? She shouldn’t have many days left this year. When are you headed up there to bring her back home, or is she planning some type of summer internship or adventure?

A couple of out of town kids rent a storage unit for the summer so I don't have to lug her stuff back. She is getting ready for finals and flying home the 13th. Over the summer she has an internship here at the University of Miami's Marine Biology's school. She will also be getting her Rescue Diver certification and a specialized certification for diving involving some sort of scientific research stuff. Not sure about that one. She will be busy but not making any money. The not making any money part sucks. When is Max invading your home?

Never made it to the Miami airport yet... but thanks for the heads-up! I thought La Guardia still held that rank! :lmao: Welcome back!

La Guardia is cake compared to Miami. It takes forever to get anywhere in MIA, it has a confusing layout and it just sucks. Flew out of National and that is a great airport. Everything is so easy to get to.

Florida came to mind for me... but DW has been there and has no desire to ever live in a state where bugs are bigger than your hand. :lmao:

Tell her no worries, we turn them into pets.

Scorpions? Yeah, she prob would not like them, either :rotfl2:

The "no ocean" part of that is what DD doesn't like. Just got her a surf board last year and she is looking forward to using it a lot this year and is becoming quite the surfer girl.

I think the taxation will probably end up being a wash. I haven't dug any deeper than seeing a few houses on Zillow to see what money can buy. At the moment I still look like a cat with arms spread wide trying to avoid the bath water! :rotfl2: I don't want to sell and move.

I have....one of the few places outside of the Southeast I will voluntarily go to.

Good to know... Fed approved. :smokin:

Iraq was a dry heat too.....stick your head in an oven and tell me how cool you thing it is...

 Well... I certainly wouldn't think it was cool... but I'd rather feel like I stuck my head in an oven than sticking it in a dog's mouth! :lmao:

I was afraid of that.... :crazy2:

Don't tell her about the scorpions or spiders.
No income tax sounds nice but be careful on the property tax. It can vary by huge amounts just going a half mile down the road. Each school district, city, and county can charge property tax so each time you cross one of those lines it changes. In my neighborhood taxes run around $1500-$2000 a year. A few blocks over you cross the county line and it jumps to around $2500, for roughly the same priced houses.
At the end of the year unless you are making pro athlete money, it will be a wash for most people.
If you can talk her into it you may find better work in Austin. Lots of tech work here and anyone who can program or run an IT team will have work thrown at them.

Good point. We’ll move that one to the “Con” column then

Cool, no monster drive for you.
Her summer plans sound pretty good (excluding that not making money part of it of course).

We’ll go retrieve our prodigal after the last of the commencement ceremonies next Saturday (He’s one of the musicians they hired to stay and take care of the music for those little gatherings). After that his plans are more vague this year (and penniless as well). Not to worry, I’ll put him to work for the same no money that he’s currently planned.
We’ll see if that changes his mind set a might.:rolleyes1

It's something to keep me going. Thanks.

.

$5Million fine is nothing. Banned for life? Well, he keeps his money but can't sit courtside. Would I be a social pariah for $700 million? Might already be half way there...... :lmao:

In the end, it's still money being taken by the government to pay politicians to do nothing.

Well not a social pariah. :rotfl2: ;)

This is brilliant! It won’t happen, but it is brilliant. :rotfl:

I would hire you to be my official stats guy.

I dunno, I gotta think going through life having to look at that face in the mirror is punishment enough. That is one jacked up looking dude. Thinking one too many pull and tucks.

I don't think that girlfriend cared much of what his face looked liked, just what his wallet looked like.

I can relate, Norm. Happened to me after my last trip. Time to book another one! :goodvibes

If we were to head west we'd be looking into at least a 4 bed/3bath house with some sort of ground floor MIL suite.

So... just how hot is "hot as balls"? :rotfl2:

Thanks. I really don't know which is worse - measuring "hot as balls" or having a MIL in the MIL Suite? :lmao:

Sorry to hear about the healthcare insurance change. I'm still waiting for affordable care to materialize. :confused3
!

You may have won the internet, but we'll have to wait for Andy. Affordable health insurance! Hahahahaha. :crazy2: :sad1:

If that pans out I just would like a DVC contract, I'd be happy.

I would hire you as my official beer ordering guy. I know I will never have that type of money, because I would use it to have fun.

His section are the Hillbilly Villa's. The outhouses are painted gold and have a great view of Wishes!

Hillbilly villas are still hysterical. :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

I've hatched a new plan as CJ is slow on getting those camper hookups installed.

On the rides at WDW, I've been looking for places to hide and sleep through the night. You know, try to get on of the last rides of the night and them jump off the boat in IASW and hide among the characters. I wonder if they will notice me or if they play that song the whole night? :lmao:

You've heard about the dolls in IASW right?? If not, refer to the forts Kingdom Keepers book ;)

Maybe I can fight them off. Maybe I'll join them. Either way, I'll be at WDW. There are other rides I can choose from. I've been looking for places to hide.

One more round of potentially sever weather and we will be done with it for a bit. Heading north to the vacation :headache: house and then on to the regional Bible Quiz contest. Looking forward to this all being done soon.

Also looking forward to my place in Hillbilly Villa since I hear Norm is buying. I'd even be happy to drive the tram around so I can tell everyone where to get off. :scratchin
