Do I get ownage?
Apparently it's been about 60 pages since I checked in here, but Page 76 appears to be full of good news, so congrats and Bon Voyages to everyone. Condolences and Prayers to those who need them.
Hope everyone had a good Easter, however you may or may not celebrate it. (shows you how long it's been since I've checked in) I contributed a smoked brisket to our dinner... It was delicious, despite my being a little too heavy-handed with the pepper in the rub:sad2:. gotta fix that next time.
Other than that, been busy with Scout stuff, School Fair stuff, and Domestic stuff, not to mention work stuff, which has conspired to keep me away from here.
Feels good to be back.

Good news on the knee - it's feeling much better. I can walk with little or no pain or limp. Going up stairs gives me a little issue, but not too bad. PT starts tomorrow, and I'm very hopeful for a good recovery sans-surgery.

:banana::banana: Time to go skiing!!

Been a busy Monday here. Definitely not the kind of Monday I had last week :lmao:

Good luck with the new job. I am sure you will be reminding us of the upcoming trip for the next four days. Can't blame you, but I would never do that.

On a side note, there is a possibility I may be in Boston the end of July. A friend is getting married and my drive to Western Pennsylvania lives in DC. Thinking about coming in early and hitting Boston or NY. Maybe if you are in town, we can meet up. Just don't tell the other guy or he might want to hang out with us. That is unless he can get us into Fenway.

You think I would do such a thing???? :confused3

We should definitely get together if you come up here. And you should come up here, Boston is MUCH better than NY! ;)

Let me know when you finalize plans. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the ownage and brisket. Welcome back.

So any of you guys live or have lived in San Antonio, TX?

DW vacationed there before we were married and really wants to go back. I told her it wasn't WDW. Not sure that helps much, but thought I would post it anyway.

Have been in a news blackout bubble for the last couple of days. Hope all of you out there in the path are Ok..

All safe here. Have a safe flight.

Good news. I rested all weekend for you by sitting on the couch.

Yeah, exactly what I was going to say. It was MLB, not NBA, so I'm not sure how much differently the NBA will handle things, but there is a bit of a precedent in place for something like this.
.

Charles Barkley said today that being forced to sell his team for a $billion dollars isn't much punishment. He was thinking a long suspension.

It will also be my last day of work at my current company. Took a new job. :thumbsup2

::cool1:

Congrats on the new job and have a great trip. I'm always available for that highly paid, telecommuting, unqualified assistant job.

I've only been back from WDW now two weeks and I'm ready for another vacation. The weather is better now (except for these storms). I don't get it. I know work stinks, but it usually takes me a month or so of dreading to return to the office. I can't be going thru a mid-life crisis because that would involve too much effort. :lmao:

The Cheetah made it back to school and I made it home. Interesting flight. Took a little while to get on the plane and a more than a little while sitting on the tarmac in Miami waiting for a gate to open up. For all of you that have flown into or out of MIA, my apologies. Despite the billions spent improving the airport it is still one of the worst in the world.

Pansy. Rub some dirt on it. Knee problems are no fun and you have my sympathy. I tore my ACL my Freshman year in HS and did not know I did it until I was in college. Finally decided to do something years later. I wanted to have it cut but the doctor's response was, "You playing for the Dolphins?" Me, "No." "Well then, rehab it." But that was years later and it already scared over. Rehab worked well and hopefully it can work for you. If not, modern day surgery is less invasive and the recovery time is less. When it first happened to me, it was treated with bleeding and leeches.

Let me know how things work out. I have fended off offers to be GM of multiple running teams and have retained my loyalty. If you are a has been, let me know. I'll follow the money and spit you out like a cup of Beverly.

You let Clyde know I might be in your fair city, I seriously doubt it. If it works out, I am leaning to Boston. Visited there only once and that was for about six hours. Flew in as a last second replacement as a seminar speaker, did my thing, had a cocktail and was dropped off at the airport. Looked at the Baseball schedule and the Yankees are in town that weekend. Unfortunately, my bozo friend is getting married then. Called him to see if he would move it, but the wife to be said no.

Looks like there may be some openings at the pro level for you as well. Which one is worse - Clippers, Dolphins, or Marlins?

I live in Austin, not too far away. And I visit there often. What's up?

DW is expressing interest in visiting/moving out that way. Personally, I've never been west of the Mississippi :rolleyes1 Guess I'm looking for thoughts on stuff like weather, what's to do, house prices and other general comments.

I hear that. I felt and feel the same way. DD asked if we could just live at disney since she doesn't have school in the summer

Generally the weather is hot. But I like it, the spring and fall can't be beat. And you never have to shovel snow again, ever.
San Antonio has Fiesta Texas (a six flags park) and sea world, you will only be about 90 min to Houston for baseball and football, Spurs will be your local basketball. And you have minor league hockey, we could become arch enemies. The SAN Antonio team is my locals rival.
Great food everywhere as long as you stay out of the tourist areas. Not sure if you are into it but you also have 5-6 great wineries less than an hours drive; the Shiner brewery is just down the road(with free samples daily). And Austin is a day trip away for all the music you ever wanted and then some.
I haven't priced houses in the San Antonio area but around here a nice neighborhood with good schools will run you $200k for a 3/2 @ 1800sq ft. I will loom up the market down there tomorrow and get back to you.
Let me know what you are looking for and I will let you know where to find it close by.
Having 2 Emma's this close together may be dangerous. That's my DD6 name too.

Paul, congrats on the trip and he job!!!! :woohoo:

Thanks!!!

Thanks. That's the first new position I plan to hire for, so I'll be in touch.;)

Sox yanks are an event. No worries though, we'll find something good to do while you're here.:thumbsup2

Have fun on vacation and good news about work.

Hopefully you continue to get some good work related news. Enjoy your upcoming vacation.

Good news on the work front. May that percentage keep on dropping. Enjoy the time off. I do believe that a bit of stress reduction is quite in order.

Thank you guys. It is great news. It has been coming down from 13% I only have to be better than 5 people out of like 500 or something like that. I am hoping I will be clear of it before I go TDY to South Carolina in the end of May. I'm trying to convince DW to get me an Ipar Air and job security would help with that.

So any of you guys live or have lived in San Antonio, TX?

I spent 12 weeks there but outside of telling you it's hot as balls in August I can't say much else about it.

Got back from WDW late last night:sad:

But I did have a few first's:confused3

- I flew on a plane:scared1: It had a few intense moments but all in all it was not bad:)

- We are now AP holders

- We are now TIW holders:woohoo:

- We tried FP+ :confused3, I do not really like it, but it does have a plus side if you make your FP's that day, a good example, we did morning EMH at AK we walked on Safari, waited 10mins for EE got off did it again, then waited 5 mins for Dino. It seemed like there was a lot less people taking advantage of the EMH:confused3, then we left and went to MK did Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room & POTC before our 12pm Haircut at MS Barbershop, on the way we stopped at a FP Kiosk and used FP+ for the 1st time we got Space Mountain, Peter Pan & Big Thunder all for after 8 that night, after we got our haircut we went to Epcot, and retuned to MK after dinner at Ohanas stayed until we used the FP's and split, buses were crazy, they had Marching Bands, Dance Squads & Choirs so there were a ton of people on the bus so we tried to sneak out during the parade to beat the crowds, it didn't really work all that well since a lot of guests had the same idea:scared1:

I don't like the idea of making them way in advance since you don't know how the day will go and with some of The FP+ we made we ended up riding the ride before they were due since they had short lines

If I have something (like a AP) I'm the type that going to use it for all it's worth:scratchin::yes::

So

45 DAYS TILL WDW:hyper:

:duck::duck::duck::badpc::badpc::badpc::duck::duck::duck:

Did you pick up DVC while you were there? :lmao: I like TiW much better than any of the DPs as well.
