Thanks Shawn. It is pretty sad; they were on their way to Alberta to start a new life. It sounds like they both fell asleep and drifted into oncoming traffic.

So tragic. Prayers for all of the friends and family.

And prayers for Oklahoma, too. There are no words.

I'm very sorry to hear this. My condolences and prayers to the family.

Prayers for all those affected by the storms in Oklahoma :grouphug:
Devastating, prayers to all affected by this terrible event
Morning Guys.

Going to be a weird day here. Heading to DS's school later on this morning for an art expo they created in their French language class and then off to a funeral for a couple of friends who were killed in a car accident last week.

Hope you all have a great day.
Tragic, thoughts and prayers to you and your friends family
Now for a farming update: All of our corn is planted as of Friday afternoon. After we finished corn, Dad and I started working up ground to help keep my uncle going with the soybean planter. We got our part done last night, and he's got about 175 acres left to plant and we'll be all done with planting. He could have finished today, but it is raining right now. Oh well.

Next up, applying nitrogen in the corn and spraying everything.
Hope mother nature is good to you this summer

Well, I'm all caught up now. :faint:

Good to see Dave again on Sunday...even if my youngin' was acting like...well, a 5 year old...LOL

I'm sitting here waiting to find out if I'm headed to Oklahoma. What a nightmare...and something you simply cannot plan for, nor control.

Good morning guys and here's to good day for all.

My Blackhawks have dug themselves a bit of a hole, and has to be against Detroit. They need to pick themselves up and win Thursday night or the curse of the Presidents Cup / best regular season record is gonna continue. Not allowing the goal that would have made last nights game 2-2 in the 3rd was a bad call as the goalie was not touched. If they are gonna disallow goals for guys who have been pushed into the crease or have a skate in the blue, half the goals in the playoffs would be disallowed.

LETS GO HAWKS

I packed up my office, even my stapler, and then was told moving day will be Friday. So, I have nothing to do for a few days. So, I went ahead and started preparing the year end report (FY ends June 30) final time hours accounting report. I managed 10 paid weeks of leave this year, including holiday, sick, and vacation time. That's only up a 3 days from last year. I think i need to add 11 weeks of paid leave on my goals for next year's evaluation.

State Fair this morning. DD did a great job on Kansas from current events to history and Emelia Earhart. DD explained how tornado's are formed, why they are so prevalent in that are and some discussion on how to predict and warn people. With the tragedies the last few days she really did a great job presenting with knowledge and compassion. Proud of her.

Prayers to those effected by the recent tornado's.

Happy Birthday JMWEST!!!!

tumblr_lj8dqe8jTv1qzomcio1_500.jpg

Sorry it's late. Happy Birthday Justin!

Apparently not impressed with the fireworks put on by everyone, Mother Nature moved in with one of her own. Just as things looked to be winding down, a breeze picked up andthe first signs of a storm arrived. So far, lightning and Thunder, and a smattering of rain (and can still see the odd firework in the distance!)

Both Brians..: Awesome pics on FB of the day, looked like a lot of fun...!

Continued prayers to the people of Oklahoma.

Expecting some pretty strong thunderstorms later today around here. Glad you were able to wind down some from the recent stress.

Continued prayers here as well.

Morning guys. My heart breaks for those who lost loved ones in Oklahoma.

We had a tornado warning here in our county at 2:00am. The sirens woke me up. Luckily it was just heavy rain and some strong wind. It was heading toward Andy as well, hopefully nothing more then what we got :thumbsup2

Glad you are OK. Hopefully all the other dads are OK as well.

Our year end in June 30 as well. 10 weeks of paid leave.:scratchin That would be pretty sweet. Made me think about what I have here. Most I can get is about 9 weeks if I try hard and have 5-6 days of sick time. Not sure 11 weeks is attainable. Good luck with hitting your goal.

Just getting settled back in after an unexpected 3 day weekend. Was getting ready for work yesterday morning when my 13 month old tripped on a dining room chair. He used his face to break his fall, which is never a good idea. Blood all over, and I couldn't tell if it was his chin, a tooth, tongue, etc. To make matters worse, he was eating a raspberry at the time so I couldn't tell if the stuff in his mouth was chewed raspberry or a bloody, mangled tongue. Luckily it was just berry and the only blood source was a gash on his chin. DW took him to the ER while I got the other kids off to school. I met them at the hospital, only to find that they were still in the waiting room because the place was full. After over two hours of waiting, he got his stitches and we were on our way. I didn't want to send him to daycare, so I stayed home with him. A three hour nap around lunch time, and he was back to his normal, daredevil self.

A scar on the chin from a fall seems like a right of passage for little guys. Glad to hear he was back at it in the afternoon though:goodvibes

My son had a similar accident a couple of years ago. While DW was driving him to the ER, in the middle of all of his moaning and bleeding, he suddenly stopped crying and asked, "Mommy, when penguins cry, do they cry icicles?"

:confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl:

Yeah. Chicks dig scars.

and tattoos...

Get him a Fedora hat and we'll call him Wisconsin Sommer!

Terrible watching the reports from Oklahoma. Thoughts and prayers to those affected.

Darcy, sorry to hear about your friends. Very sad.

On a happier note:

Justin, belated Happy Birthday.

Norm, glad your stapler is safe.

Jim, DD did a great job.

Barry, scars build character. Glad the little bugger is OK.

Had a really rough trip up here yesterday. The kid could not get out of bed until I told her I have had it and will leave her behind. Pouring rain from North Dade to Ft. Pierce. So much for renting a convertible. Took forever to get up here.

The Pirate Princess asked for and we did get an upgrade to a Savanna view. Winner! It is one of the least desirable Savanna views but hey, beats a parking lot. We went to Mara for dinner and then hit Victoria Falls for a cocktail and cheese platter. Allowed me to decompress from the drive up.

The plan today was to hit the MK in the am and then EPCOT tonight for dinner at Chefs de France. Again, the kid could not get up so we blew off the MK. Couldn't get mad though because she isn't feeling all that great. She seems to be bouncing back this afternoon. Should be able to make dinner at Chefs and Illuminations if the rain holds off and the show goes on.

Despite the bumps, I'm fully enjoying myself. I'll try to post some pics tonight.

Someone's already said it, but Chicks dig scars:lmao:

Randall...thanks. Wouldn't have it any other way.

So I was cruising along US 17 (Roosevelt Blvd here in Jacksonville, FL) and was stopped at an intersection that has a train crossing for the North-South CSX line that runs parallel to US17.

The lights are flashing indicating an oncoming train....well, some moron pulls around the control arms (in an obvious hurry) and loses the race across with the Southbound Amtrak Silver Bullet.

Sounded like a bomb going off when the train hit even though the engineer locked up the brakes.

Lunch for Mikey was a little late....

‘Afternoon all…

Add me to the prayer chain for the folks in OK…
Heartbreaking… and we all get those retched things broken so often it seems unproductive to even have them.

Had to read that a couple of times before I could pick my jaw up off the desk.
The first reaction was: “TEN WEEKS!!!!!”

But as you said, that’s adding everything in.
I get 4 wks vacation and 10 holidays, so by the same standard that’s a total of 6 weeks. We don’t get a specific number of sick days so I can’t add in any more then that. Ten weeks however… that’s to be celebrated. Congrats on being able to take that much of your own life back from the overlords.

Keep it up. :thumbsup2

And you should be proud.
Nice work on her part there.

Ouch!!!
Good to hear that he’s recovering nicely.

I did something similar to myself when I was just about that age. I certainly don’t remember it (being as that was back in the Stone Age), but my folks tell me that I used the top of my skull and the corner of a coffee table to break the fall. Blood everywhere… stitches applied… similar parental trauma… Ahhhhh… memories.

Like I said… good to hear that he survived and continues to thrive.

A bit of a rocky start, but…
You’re at Disney! :goodvibes

And that unequivocally beats anything even remotely good that seems to be going on where I’m sitting. :sad2:

10 paid weeks! :scared1: Now I am jealous of you too!! :rotfl2:!!

But, it is a mind numbing government funded job with no hopes of promotion. That time helps me maintain what little sanity I have left.

Yeah. Chicks dig scars.

See, Mark has that same job fulfilling experience that I do. Are you doing a speech at the end of the movie, the Replacements?

Get him a Fedora hat and we'll call him Wisconsin Sommer!

And have him fight nazis.

Terrible

Thanks. The rest of my sanity is tied to that stapler. What is thing you speak of - blow off MK? I mean, the room upgrade is cool, but you might need an air horn to get her going in the morning.
