Anyone else have nightmares their daughter will come home looking like this?

Hope the day gets better or diluted with spirits.

:rotfl2::rotfl::thumbsup2

Best wishes. I don't want any promotions, just more money and less responsibility.

I'd love that situation...just haven't found it yet.

Took her and three of her girlfriends out to dinner on Tuesday. They chose Cheesecake factory. Brought be back to my college days when my parents would come up and take me out for real food. Needless to say they enjoyed it even though the Pirate Princess and one of her friends gave up junk food and dessert for Lent. They had strawberries instead of cheesecake. The waitress even gave them each a loaf to the brown bread to take home.

Wow, that's some admirable restraint. I don't think I could have passed up cheesecake. Anyway, I'm glad it was a good visit. I remember always being thrilled when my parents would visit and rescue me from the dining hall.

We're going to Mary Poppins next weekend! I'm really looking forward to that show. Mary Poppins is my favorite live actor/animated Disney movie.

I would like to see that too!! We saw the live action Beauty and the Beast show a few weeks ago and it was just ok...:confused3

Mary Poppins and Peter Pan are my kids' favorites. Must have something to do with flying. They were mesmerized when they met her in MK last year and Epcot the year before. She gave my son a big ol' kiss on the cheek. When she moved in for it my son turned his head and offered his lips. Freaked Mary out a little.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Missed this the first time around. Sounds like something my boy would do.

Thanks Shawn, that means alot to me. I Really don't know what happen. I thought Paul and Carl liked them, they did at the DDCC.

Well its given if you like them then I cant like them. I mean why would I like them the one tried to choke me out!!!

Please help settle argument with DW. She told DS that all Disney movies have a happy ending. I reminded her Empire Strikes Back doesn't have a happy ending. She said that doesn't count. Who is right?

Awesome quote! I may have to steal that one.

That's an original, so feel free.

Overall a fun trip.

Dang Catholic lent thing. I would have had you take us to dinner on Sundays, because those are a technicality out of the 40 day sacrifice.

Did Bambi get shot? Happy. It's still all about perspective.

Can it be photoshopped for CJ's daughter? That might give him a heart attack.

I fear many things that will someday relate to my daughters. Thus I am enjoying my girls at every age and hoping I don't screw up this dad thing.
Also, I'm a little disturbed that I find that cartoon turns me on a bit.
:confused3

Been a crappy day around here today... Had to go to a meeting last night which involved getting about a half inch of ice off my windshield to go home. Had to go to another meeting this morning and just now finally getting to sit down at my desk and take a deep breath. DW sent a text earlier saying DS's fever is back and he's over 103 and now DD has a fever too, so they're going to the Dr. in about an hour. Kind of getting nervous, the Lady Spartans play in the Semi-State tomorrow afternoon. If I have to stay home with the kids, I obviously will, but I'll hate to miss that game. Just one of those peanut butter, beverly, give me a beer kind of days.

Sorry to hear that Andy. Hope the kids bounce back quickly.

I've had a busy day today. Had an interview for a promotion this morning. Hopefully I didn't make a fool of myself any more than usual. Then I met Brian (middlepat) for a Nemesis Lunch since he was in the area. Photographic proof is on FB.

Good luck Mark. Saw the pic of you and Brian. Looks like you guys had a good time. Speaking of which, Brian, you going to be down here anytime soon?

Scary thought.

She has done the Lent thing for years now and always had the willpower to stick to it. Unlike her father. I gave up on sacrifice a long time ago.

We ate out almost every night. Found a really nice Italian restaurant in West Orange. The bolognese was excellent. Also ate at her favorite Mexican place. She got me back Thursday for lunch when we ate at the cafeteria. Not bad actually compared to my days in school.

Well both kids have the flu. No basketball game and no anniversary celebration for us this weekend. Is it next Friday yet???

Got nervous there. Thought I might have to sit up straight and behave.

I forgive ya... ;)

I was wondering why you changed your avatar!

Batten down the hatches, seal all entrances and exits, close all shops in the mall, cancel the three ring circus, secure all animals in the zoo!

Whew... false alarm.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I was expecting far more pain and suffering then that.
Y’all are gettin’ soft in your old age.

Um... Rob? There's a little place at the top right that says "Log Out" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I assumed as much... pretty easy to tell by the writing style. And the fact that the location was Fort Mill, SC. And the fact that the names in the sig belong to your family. But nicely done! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Yep I did one dang fine job of makin’ myself look even more foolish the usual.
It seems even you saw fit to give me a bit of a break. But I see that you have far more important things on your mind.

:rotfl::rotfl2: Yeah, he fell for one of the classic blunders.

Hay now… At least I didn’t get into a land war in central Asia!
:lmao:

No fair…
Sorry to hear about this. The ball game is an unfortunate loss, but the anniversary dinner can be rescheduled so at least that one’s not a total loss. May the kids get over it quickly, and my no one else in the house catch that nastiness.

I suspect I made a bigger fool of myself today then you did. Good luck on the job and congrats on getting in a meet for lunch (even if it was with your nemesis :rolleyes1: ).

Just remember… We’re all counting on you
;)

Nope… :lmao:

I’m sorry, that’s note quite fair now is it?
I can’t promise that I’ll have nightmares, but I’ll be concerned for you if it helps any.

Actually My brother has the problem that you have.
One of his just turned 18 and the other is about to hit 13.
Lord help him…

My daughter hates needles, and alcohol...

For now.... :stir:

Exactly what I was thinking :rotfl2:

I fear many things that will someday relate to my daughters. Thus I am enjoying my girls at every age and hoping I don't screw up this dad thing.

The fact that you’re worried about it leads me to believe that you’re probably doing just fine.

But…

Also, I'm a little disturbed that I find that cartoon turns me on a bit.
:confused3

As the old punch line goes:
“I don’t know if I’d have told that one Brother!”
:rotfl:

No luck so far getting BOG booked, if we had pre-booked the actual trip, it'd be easier, then we could sneak ahead, instead of day-to-day, but that's the way it goes...

Day 3 was good. really really busy though, and I got the first spin running main cash, in years. Been working hard, shaking off the rust and lazy habits I'd developed, and doig well, but ye gods, I am tired when I get home. :lmao:

Glad to hear the new place is going ok. Do they tip in Canada like they do in America? I know that tipping in Europe is viewed differently. If so, maybe you can carry out purchases to the high roller vehicles for some extra cash.

Accepting tips is not allowed..:sad2:

Well…
It’s obvious that we survived the trip up into the mountains. Nasty drive both up and back with a continuous cold rain making the going a bit miserable. But then again, it stayed clear all during the day so we had no problems getting around the campus.

We met with most of the faculty and a good number of the students in the music department. Very impressive and encouraging exchanges all around.

Our boy knocked out the official audition about mid afternoon and walked out feeling very confident. He’s quite use to auditions, but rarely ever thinks he’s done very well until the results are far better then he expects. For him to feel good about this one has me feeling good about his chances. But there are a lot of kids on the same horn shooting for a limited number of spots in a top ranked program and that’s got his momma a might worried. That last bit may make for a long three weeks waiting on the results, but I’ve got a good feeling about it.

In the mean time he got accepted into another university (academically at least). Now I need to get him down there for another audition fairly soon. It’s always good to have options.

Thanks for the well wishes and for letting me waste your time rambling on.
We’ll now return this thread back to its regularly scheduled collection of off-topics.
