Stayed up last night and watched Alone in the Wilderness. It is the one where Dick Proenneke builds a log cabin in Alaska next to a lake. I really enjoy watching it and wish I had the skills to build a house with simple tools. I don't think I could live on my own for 30 years like that, but then I wonder if living that way would be better than the path I have chosen.

Of course, there is still the option of my camper in CJ's front yard.

Is that the documentary thing from 40 or 50 years ago? I think I've watched that several times. Really cool.

Well, the snowblower still works. First time I used it this year. Only got 3" but it was the heavier stuff and I was being a bit lazy (so lazy that I chose to electric start rather than pull start) :thumbsup2. Plus I wanted to burn up some of that older gas.

Evening guys. Sorry for being mia around here the last day or so, but the thread name really sucks. Having a tough time bringing myself over here.

I could not agree more :thumbsup2 I think the thread master had something to do with it!!:rolleyes1

How do we fix that? :confused3

If only we were going to be together in a month or so, outnumbering the thread master, with some nefarious plan to end the reign of the penguins...

If only...;)

yea I wonder.:rolleyes1I think hurting the penguins will cause an uprising. But the thread master now thats a different story:rolleyes1

It's a real shame you guys won't be around, you'll be missed.

Oh Well!

So, What's up with everyone else?

:goodvibes
Ordered my tickets today.
:thumbsup2
Whoo Hoo
Undercover Tourist had a deal. $1021 for 3 adults and 1 child for 5 days.
:hyper:
Now August needs to hurry up and get here.
:beach:
NICE! Well done!

Welcome back... musta been rough being in NY for a whole week.
What cha trying to say? :confused3:confused3 :rotfl2:

'Morning all...

We're on an expedition today up into the North Carolina mountains. My boy has auditions today to be accepted into the School of Music at Western Carolina University. The academic folks have already accepted him and he's more then good enough to be accepted by the professors in the arts department, but the better this goes today, the better the possible scholarship offers will be.
Batten down the hatches, seal all entrances and exits, close all shops in the mall, cancel the three ring circus, secure all animals in the zoo!

Whoops...

Was using DWs laptop and it was signed in as her...
There was no invasion it was just that I wasn't paying attention. :sad2:

Y'all feel free to give me inordinate amounts of hell over it.

It's not like I could stop ya', now is it.
Whew... false alarm.

Lion King is an AWESOME show... and FOTLK is a completely different show, and in my opinion although it's great, it doesn't compare.
THIS.

I always order through UT. The savings for a family of 5 pays for a meal or two.
I bought 10 day NE tix last summer that I used in Nov. I changed MElody's and mine to APs and got $40 to put toward my TIW.

It's a real shame you guys won't be around, you'll be missed.

Oh Well!

So, What's up with everyone else?
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Somehow I wasn't included in this! :cool1::cool1:

Randall, ever get the idea people aren't liking the penguins? :lmao: Looks like they need to get out and get some fresh air. I like them, but was never accused of having good taste. You could do a Princess theme for them the next thread but ....maybe not:scared:

Been a crappy day around here today... Had to go to a meeting last night which involved getting about a half inch of ice off my windshield to go home. Had to go to another meeting this morning and just now finally getting to sit down at my desk and take a deep breath. DW sent a text earlier saying DS's fever is back and he's over 103 and now DD has a fever too, so they're going to the Dr. in about an hour. Kind of getting nervous, the Lady Spartans play in the Semi-State tomorrow afternoon. If I have to stay home with the kids, I obviously will, but I'll hate to miss that game. Just one of those peanut butter, beverly, give me a beer kind of days.

But this did make me smile a little bit:
'Morning all...
Um... Rob? There's a little place at the top right that says "Log Out" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I assumed as much... pretty easy to tell by the writing style. And the fact that the location was Fort Mill, SC. And the fact that the names in the sig belong to your family. But nicely done! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Sorry to hear that. I'd send you a beer, but it's going to be warm by the time it gets there.

:rotfl::rotfl2: Yeah, he fell for one of the classic blunders.

I've had a busy day today. Had an interview for a promotion this morning. Hopefully I didn't make a fool of myself any more than usual. Then I met Brian (middlepat) for a Nemesis Lunch since he was in the area. Photographic proof is on FB.

Prayers for DS. Hope the day gets better or diluted with spirits.

Anyone else have nightmares their daughter will come home looking like this?

Prayers for the family. The crud just keeps hanging on this year though the CDC assures us that the worst of the flu season is over. I live in a dry county or I would send you a beer via Norm's Mailbox.

Best wishes. I don't want any promotions, just more money and less responsibility.

Awesome quote! I may have to steal that one.

Mary Poppins and Peter Pan are my kids' favorites. Must have something to do with flying. They were mesmerized when they met her in MK last year and Epcot the year before. She gave my son a big ol' kiss on the cheek. When she moved in for it my son turned his head and offered his lips. Freaked Mary out a little.

We got a playa' on our hands...

Hey guys,

It is good to be home. So good, the left the dogs at the vet for another day. Thanks for all your concern over having enough sun tanning oil.

It was nice to see the kid. She is doing well at school. Grades are up there, she has a good group of friends and is acclimating to the weather. Yesterday she was just wearing this fleece thing and a scarf. I had my parka on with gloves and a wool headband. And I was still freezing.

Took her and three of her girlfriends out to dinner on Tuesday. They chose Cheesecake factory. Brought be back to my college days when my parents would come up and take me out for real food. Needless to say they enjoyed it even though the Pirate Princess and one of her friends gave up junk food and dessert for Lent. They had strawberries instead of cheesecake. The waitress even gave them each a loaf to the brown bread to take home.

Overall a fun trip.
