Jennifer, I hope if you make it to the church, you make it safely!
This reminds me of when my SIL got married. She got married on April 4th. Wanted a Spring wedding with spring flowers, and pastel colors.
Well, on the day of the wedding a freak snowstorm hit dumping 24 inches of snow. Needless to say, only a few people were able to attend. She had TONS of food left over, and lots of other things too. We felt so bad for her, but this was 18 years ago, and they are still happily married. So much for bad Karma!
I remember trying to drive home from her wedding. We live about 4 hours north of her. It took us over 24 hours to get home, most of which were spent overnight on a closed interstate, trying to stay warm with our car slowly running on fumes!
Stay safe everyone! Stay home and enjoy the time with your families!
Being the geeks we are, we definitely filled up immediately (even though we didn't need to for this particular drive), brought blankets, water bottles, food, etc
The drive ended up being fine. I live in Northern Butler county, and we always get significantly more than the city or anything inside 275. I think it's a combination of being northwest, and old farmlands (so totally flat). As soon as we got out of the county, it was decent. Certainly not clear, but very very travelable... and it helps that there weren't a lot of people out!
Surprisingly, about 80-100 people showed up. I'm sure they had planned for more (the hall especially looked empty!) but I was impressed with that... I really thought it would be the people IN the wedding, and maybe some extended family. Kelly was beautiful and happy though, and I know that if she was yesterday, then it doesn't matter -- nothing matters as much after!
Right now, they are landing at WDW (or actually, probably already at Caribbean Beach)! Lucky jerks!

The drive home was a bit different, it was COMPLETELY clear (the snow had stopped several hours earlier) until Butler County. Then we were worse, because it had apparently snowed a bit longer, and it was later so had started to refreeze, etc.
The tri-state area is now under a flood watch until about Wednesday, because it's supposed to jump up to 60 in about 48 hours, melting this stuff QUICKLY. It better stay that warm, that's all I have to say!
Denise, Lynn, etc - the whole drive there, we decided that Georgia is still the best place to live
Everywhere else we thought of all sorts of weather disasters that could strike..... but aside from droughts, etc, it seems most years there are just perfect. (And 22 days until Opening Day!
)
I'm a former high school communications teacher, now SAHM to Alyssa (almost 4), Matthew (20 months), and soon-to-be arriving Noah (July 2008). I'm married to Kevin (who stumbled across the original DDA thread back in 2005). He's an assistant prosecutor and President of Sharonville City Council (suburb of Cincinnati). We're friends with Jennifer (Tink2020) and her DH, Kyle, in real life. And, of course, we're huge Disney fans...we finally bought into DVC in 2007 and our second trip "home" will be in January 2009.

, looks like we may start with AK. I signed up for TGM yesterday, has anyone used him before, if so what do you think? I also went ahead and booked our flights, they went up $5.00 from the first time I checked them, and then the returning flight was already filling up. We had talked about driving, but I REALLY don't want to, so I went ahead and booked it.
because the house must have blocked it. Other places have a ton of snow.. I'll try to figure out what measurements they came up with, or measure somewhere more flat and less obstructed. I don't have any idea how much we got, but I don't think it's much more if any more! A lot of the reason the roads were so bad in some areas (especially east of me) was ice, not a ton of snow. Who knows. I'm tired of it all, and I think the whole state is, too!
Yay for Novermber planning! I noticed the flight for DH changes by about $5 over the weekend, then it goes down during the week. But the plane is still almost empty. I refuse to buy a seat on an empty plane for $180 one way!
for it coming on such a yucky day. It's always nice to get a surprise on those kind of days.
I hope you hear some good news on the job front soon.

UNacceptable.
