How sad & yet sweet at the same time

Lexi is our special baby. My sister tried for 9 years to have her. She was born the weekend my Dad died. You can't tell from the pictures, but her dress has Mickey and Minnie heads on it, and a pretty tuffed tulle hem.

i know i am gonna be stressed those months because mom will be stressed and i have a feeling our electrical wiring through out the house will need to be completely redone. she doesn't think so but i do. the way our lights flicker at times when multiple things are plugged in.

A tornado just went through not too far away from--actuially in the city dad is a firefighter in. He was out to dinner with one of the chiefs and my mom and they just got called in ...Theres nothing on tv/internet yet--it apparently juts happened 20-30 min ago..but no one knows the extent yet, and my dad, uncle, and my firemen are there--

I have done NOTHING today!

It is my friend's birthday, so a bunch of us (DH & DS, too) met at Buca di Beppo for lunch. Then we came home and took a nap! That's all!

Chanon - That bib is cute!

Karen - Good luck with the job! I hope you can find something soon! Good luck with the remodel, too. One of my bosses had a bathroom remodeled and it was a nightmare. It wasn't even a bathroom the kids or I ever used, because there were 3 others in the house! It just took longer than I thought it would and it was messy and noisy and disruptive. There have been a couple of times at work and at home that the microwave broke and just those few days were bad enough. It wasn't like the whole kitchen was non-functional.

Thanks Elizabeth--were listneing to the fire scanner now...there are a few buildings/houses collapsed and some fires...so im sticking here to keep busy til we find out more!

I just wrote a nasty letter to State Farm. We got a notice today saying they cancelled DH's old policy effective February. Um, no, it was cancelled in DECEMBER. And they will refund the premium AFTER my NEXT payment clears my bank! UNacceptable.

And everything has to go through the stupid agent's office. There is no phone number or e-mail to contact a billing office to try to fix it, I have to keep calling my agent so she can call and try to get it fixed. I have HAD IT with this crap about calling the agent and hoping she will fix it. I have threatened to cancel ALL of our policies (2 cars, 3 life, and renter's) if they can't get this fixed. I am so angry that they are so incompetent!

Science Fair Board Completion Day is over and the Science Fair Board is NOT complete! The flippin' power kept going out this afternoon with all the wind we're having. I was halfway through typing the procedure and I lost it. My paperweight of a desktop computer takes forever to reboot. So I eventually got tired of fighting with it and gave up. The only thing left to do is type up the results and conclusion. I think I'm going to retype the procedure, AGAIN, and have Nicholas put it in more of his words. As it stands I think it sounds too 'adult'.

Then in the midst of all of that I burnt dinner. Really bad. I was making country fried steak in a skillet on the stove. All the water in the pan had evaporated and it was black and crispy on the bottom. So we all ended up going out.

Tammi - See why I don't cook?
Typing up the sections is a pain. Just wait until he gets older and there are restrictions on the wording. Like you can not use the word "I", you have to say "the experimentor". As in, "The experimentor used petri dishes to culture the bacteria." That was one of the rules when I was in middle school. Back in the days before word processors! I had to use the very spiffy electric typewriter, which of course only had one font size.

Good evening all. Not too much going here now. Seems like I was gone all morning, but I can't remember where now. Actually, I don't think that I went anywhere now that I think about it.

I did babysit 10 kids at Kristi's this afternoon. Luckily it was only about an hour and her friend is paying me well for that hour over the next six weeks. They are doing a Mom's group for their group counseling class and her friend offered to pay me to watch the kids downstairs. Yeah Disney money!

The best part of the day was the lovely hour+ I spent at Borders by myself. Just me, my favorite beverage and a stack of books to peruse. Ahhhh.... Some grocery shopping and then home to make pumpkin muffins with Terra. Now I'm chilling at the computer and waiting for the muffins to finish so that I can eat some dinner.

Tia - Who knows? But woe to them, I looked up the office that sent me the letter and I found their PHONE NUMBER! I am SO calling them on Monday. And I will call our agent, just to let her know how really irritated I am with this and they are in grave danger of losing us as customers.
