Tammi - See why I don't cook?
Typing up the sections is a pain. Just wait until he gets older and there are restrictions on the wording. Like you can not use the word "I", you have to say "the experimentor". As in, "The experimentor used petri dishes to culture the bacteria." That was one of the rules when I was in middle school. Back in the days before word processors!:headache: I had to use the very spiffy electric typewriter, which of course only had one font size.
Did Alyssa get her hair cut today?
And I was so looking forward to a home-cooked meal!

I hope our Middle School does not require Science Fair. :wizard: His board, by the way, looks very similar to yours. ;)

Yes, Alyssa did get her hair cut. She had about 3 inches taken off, so it doesn't look different, just shorter. Then tonight she told me she wished it was about another inch shorter. It does look better though. Healthier.

Tia - TEN kids? :scared1: You are a BRAVE girl! :worship:
I refuse to watch more than 4 at a time, no matter how short a time it may be!
Yay for some time to yourself! :cool1:

Be safe, Ohians (Or what ever you're called ;) ) Jennifer, if you decide to try for the wedding, drive carefully. Chanon, you too when it's time to head home. Hopefully, you'll be like our storm and things will be clearing up later today.

I had to chuckle at this... When we lived in Ohio (and Kristin was born at Miami-Valley Hospital in Dayton) we called natives from that great state "Ohisians" (prounounced O-hee-shuns). We still call Krisin our little Ohisian.

Good evening all. Not too much going here now. Seems like I was gone all morning, but I can't remember where now. Actually, I don't think that I went anywhere now that I think about it.

I did babysit 10 kids at Kristi's this afternoon. Luckily it was only about an hour and her friend is paying me well for that hour over the next six weeks. They are doing a Mom's group for their group counseling class and her friend offered to pay me to watch the kids downstairs. Yeah Disney money!

The best part of the day was the lovely hour+ I spent at Borders by myself. Just me, my favorite beverage and a stack of books to peruse. Ahhhh.... Some grocery shopping and then home to make pumpkin muffins with Terra. Now I'm chilling at the computer and waiting for the muffins to finish so that I can eat some dinner. :thumbsup2
Yay for ME time! And Disney money.

Tia - Who knows? But woe to them, I looked up the office that sent me the letter and I found their PHONE NUMBER! :stir: I am SO calling them on Monday. And I will call our agent, just to let her know how really irritated I am with this and they are in grave danger of losing us as customers.

Uh oh! That poor person who answers the phone. :scared1: Good luck with the call! I hope that you can finally get somewhere.

Love the bib, Chanon!

Karen - good luck on resuming the job search.

Yup. In the future there could be one or two more, but they would be older. I had 2 babies 14-15 months, 2yo, 2-3yo, 5yo, 6yo, 2-8yo, 9yo. Trust me, it was much more than an hour, I'd be out. ;)

Amazing how an hour at the bookstore on my own can bring me home feeling like a totally different person. Much happier mommy.

I don't know for certain, but I strongly suspect that DS will be required to do Science Fair for 7th & 8th grade. When he brought home the sheet to sign up for 7th grade electives it looked like there wasn't any sort of "honors" Science, but I still think it will be required. I am willing to bet when he gets to high school it will be required if he is in an honors or AP class. That will be bad, because I don't know how many more winning projects I can think of!:rotfl2:

Post a picture of Alyssa and we will all say, "WOW! Look... Alyssa got her hair cut!!"

Sorry about dinner and the Science Fair... the lights kept flickering at UMW today too.

How was the concert Elin?

It was a few hundred students playing sonatas and sonatinas at UMW. I am co-chair and when I arrived none of the doors were unlocked. Luckily I had the phone number of the Campus Police and called to remind them to open the two buildings and all the rooms inside. It took them almost an hour to complete the task, but we got started with the first room of performances right on time at 8:00 a.m.!

I got home about 5:30 and Kristin and I headed to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner and then some shopping at Macy's. All in all, a nice day. But I am TIRED!

Hi everyone! Here's a bib I made for my girlfriends baby shower tomorrow:

He was out to dinner with one of the chiefs and my mom and they just got called in ...Theres nothing on tv/internet yet--it apparently juts happened 20-30 min ago..but no one knows the extent yet, and my dad, uncle, and my firemen are there--

:wizard: :wizard:

What a day!!! It has been raining pretty much non stop. I find it so strange that we are getting rain only and some of you like Texas :confused3 is getting lots of snow. We have a lot of roads that are flooded and some wash outs. Many basements are also underwater. Hopefully the worst is over and we have faired well. I ended up getting called into work to wait tables. It wasn't too busy due to the weather, but I made over $100 which goes into our trip fund :cool1: After work I hit the grocery store as I had planned to do that this afternoon.

Chris helped my brother finish tapping the maple orchard. They ended up with about 1000 gallons of sap so the had to boil tonight. The pans are now sweetened and they made 5 gallons of syrup. Chris thinks it is fancy grade which would be great. Since our temps are in the high 30s it is possible that the sap could run all night which would mean earyl boiling tomorrow. As it stands now we have no concrete plans for the day. I need to get some housework done and maybe I'll take down the wallpaper border and get moving on some home improvements.

Good morning!

Hi Sally, I'm Amy. :wave2: I'm a former high school communications teacher, now SAHM to Alyssa (almost 4), Matthew (20 months), and soon-to-be arriving Noah (July 2008). I'm married to Kevin (who stumbled across the original DDA thread back in 2005). He's an assistant prosecutor and President of Sharonville City Council (suburb of Cincinnati). We're friends with Jennifer (Tink2020) and her DH, Kyle, in real life. And, of course, we're huge Disney fans...we finally bought into DVC in 2007 and our second trip "home" will be in January 2009. :)

Chanon, that bib is really cute! Have fun at the shower and encourage your friend to make sure all bibs are secured when she does the laundry, because velcro sticks to everything in the dryer!

Karen, I hope you hear some good news on the job front soon.

Deb, :wizard: for high grade syrup, though the real stuff is way too sweet for me! ;)

Hope you got a good night's sleep, Elin.

Jen, what's the latest update on the tornado damage? I'm praying there were no casualties! Did you wait up until your dad got home?

Tia, yay for "me" time. You do so much for your family...you need to treat yourself more often.

Tammi, sorry about dinner and science fair frustrations. I hope today goes more according to plan.

Elizabeth, good luck resolving things with State Farm!

Neat pictures Becky and Chanon.

What an emotional week for you, Robyn. I hope you're resting up a bit this weekend!

Thinking of you, Theresa!

Thanks for the update, Denise. Sending lots of :wizard: your way!

Jen, we need a wedding update! I'm sure you're exhausted!

Good morning to all! :wave2: Hope you all have a nice Sunday!
