I swear DS goes to a school where the inmates run the asylum.

They sent home a form MONTHS ago to pre-order yearbooks. BUT they didn't want you to PAY for it, just order it. So today I get an e-mail (a mass e-mail, not an e-mail to me specifically) saying that they have ALL these yearbooks ordered that haven't been paid for. Um, yeah, because you never ASKED for payment! Apparently the principal has been saying during daily announcements that the kids need to bring their money. Like DS is going to say something to me about that! He thought we paid when we sent the order form back! :headache:

So DS said they were saying something about going online to the Jostens site. Fine. The site says we should have gotten an invoice. I called, and they have no record of us ordering a yearbook so they don't have a total for me or an invoice # or anything. Great.

So I called the school and asked to speak to the yearbook advisor. She doesn't have a phone in her room, but they will give her a message to call me. Perfect.

Here's a thought! Make people PAY when they ORDER! I was on the yearbook staff in high school and I honestly don't remember how it worked. I know we ordered extra books and sold them during lunch because I remember staffing the table. It just seems stupid to think people won't back out on their orders - make them pay at the time they place the order. :sad2: :sad2:

that's the way it is at both girls schools....Cassidy had somebody pay for her to get a yearbook through MS (we don't know who but we have ideas). She always magically got one even though we didn't order one. Last year was astronomical price for yearbook ($65:scared1: ) and I didn't order one at the beginning of the year either year. IF we've got the extra money at the time I will send it with her so she can get a yearbook...if not she can pay for it.

Paula-I am so glad to see your type face how's Bethie doing with the Pen???How is the rest of your crew??

PE is mandatory here every other day from K through 12. The real pain is that in high school you need to make up any PE days that you miss even for sickness or if you have to leave early to participate in a varsity sport. For the kids (like mine) that don't have a study hall, it is very difficult. They have to go in early before the buses run, which means they need someone to drive them there. Fortunately, my kids are rarely sick and have gym early enough in the day that they don't miss it the few days that they have to leave early. When they are in season with a sport, they practice way more than they have PE, so I think missing one here or there shouldn't really be a problem. Also, one of the required units in high school is swimming. It's a pain to get ready for, and what they do in the pool really isn't worth it.

When i was out of school (for 2-4 weeks) for surgery, they tried to get me to go to summer school to make up gym!

I wondered where you all were in that mess!! So glad you all are safe...I'll be praying for your area!!
was wondering the same thing--glad you are okay amy!

I swear, we must be having the only weather that is tolerable. I should bite my tongue as I say this, but our winter has been very mild. February is usually our worst month and so far it has been beautiful. It's going to dip into the 30s this weekend but then bounce right back to the mid-upper 40s. I'll take that anyday compared to what the rest of you are having!
here too--not used to this calm!

I found myself making copies of forms before I turn them back into the school. And if I pay for anything I make a copy of the check or make someone sign and date for the money and form. PITA I know, but it has saved me a few times.

Hi, Paula! How are things at your house?
Not bad. Due to the lack of loans I am out looking for a job (part time during the 3 hrs girls are at school) or even something at night when they go to bed.

Paula-I am so glad to see your type face how's Bethie doing with the Pen???How is the rest of your crew??

Bethie is doing better, we got a better numbing med to put on before the shot and that seems to help alot. She has even go a day or two with out a treat after her shot.

Would any of you work fo this company selling fundraiser stuff?

Would any of you think they are a good company and do a fundraiser via them?

http://www.abcfundraising.com/homebiz/

Why? Well I found them while looking for a fundraiser for Ellie and am thinking of becoming a distributor for them. Not sure at this time if it is a great idea, but thinking of it.

I've set some new goals for myself. I am back on my diet, cutting way back on soda and limiting my computer time.

I have found that I am gaining weight, having heart burn again and I spend so much time on the computer that I am neglecting my other responsibilities. I was very good yesterday and did not turn my computer on until after work last night. That is my goal. I wouldn't have logged on this morning had I been able to post last night.

Hopefully I'll be more productive and feel better.

ETA: 3000th post. It looks like we will need a new thread very soon.

I am working on a similar goal. I am going to try to limit myself to only 1 hour of computer time a day. I have a lot of work to do and my wonderful office/craft room is calling me. I have all kinds of projects that I'm trying to work on as well - scrapbooking, sewing, autograph books, etc.

I thought Alex said we can go to 250 pages, didn't he? :confused3 Maybe not.

Tia - I don't think too much about seeing kids in pajamas. If the mom is carrying the child I wonder if the child is sick, though! Princess goes to swimming lessons in her pajamas and I dress her when she is finished. We saw a kid the other day in a Spider Man Halloween costume and bedroom slippers walking through a parking lot with his mother. :rolleyes1

DH called the dealership about canceling our gap insurance and they told him we need to have a letter from Nissan verifying that the account is paid in full. THAT is a useful thing to know, since we don't HAVE a letter like that! :sad2: At least he called before he drove out there!

That's what he said. 250 pages - something like 3750 posts.

Maybe that means Disney likes hers the best!

Is she the one that made the passports? I wondered about those. That is the only thing that I can think of that would have singled any one person out.

Evening everyone!

Bernadette hope you are feeling better :wizard:

Amy what a nice gift from your mother

Paula nice to see you posting!

Anne Marie thanks for sharing your pictures!

Elizabeth hope you get the Yearbook problems figured out!

 & :wizard: to anyone I missed!

I am so tired of snow! The boys have been doing good at keeping our drive shoveled, but I had to have it plowed today. I still can't get up all the way because of the ice that was underneath the snow :headache: I don't want a repeat of last year, so I put some bricks behind my tires. Hopefully my truck will not go anywhere.

Paula - I haven't used that fundraising company before so I don't know anything about them. I'm glad Bethie is doing better with her injections!

Janet - I hope your truck stays put! :wizard:

The yearbook lady called me back and said if the kids made a mistake filling in the form it might not have scanned. I told her I filled in the form. She said that was just the "practice" form, the kids had to fill out another one. WTH? :headache: Anyway, I am sending a check in with DS tomorrow so he will get a book.

Princess and I just came back from the mall. I bought some cards at Hallmark but that was it.

Dadboss lost his keys about 2 weeks ago. Today Princess pulled them out of the basket where her coloring books are and announced "Princess's keys!" I thought they were the set that she plays with until I realized they are the ones that Dadboss lost! :rotfl2: He will be glad that they are back!

I swear we live parallel lives. At least it is nice to know that I am not the only one spending way too much time online and not enough time with other projects.

Is Everyone sitting down?

We got to go snowboarding tonight :rotfl:

The weather cleared up just in time and we had a wonderful night. The conditions were perfect as we had warmer temperatures and freshish snow. Colby is getting the hang of it and Nick and Hunter were able to use the lift again. I took one run on my new skis. They are a different and it took a while to get the hang of it, but I think they will be nice. Chris took a couple of runs and All in all we had a great time.
