Last night with the boards down I actually, get this........

talked to Cassidy

We had a good long discussion on many topics from where all of you live (she's trying to figure out where to start looking at schools), to politics (she has some well formed views ), to what was happening on The Biggest Loser.


How is it teenagers be all sweet and talkative one day and the next they are the biggest bears to deal with???

It's nice to catch a mother-daughter moment like that when you can!!!

I swear, we must be having the only weather that is tolerable. I should bite my tongue as I say this, but our winter has been very mild. February is usually our worst month and so far it has been beautiful. It's going to dip into the 30s this weekend but then bounce right back to the mid-upper 40s. I'll take that anyday compared to what the rest of you are having!

I am glad that it appears that our DDA friends escaped the horrible storms last night, unscathed.

Tia (and Bernadette, for that matter): Her new offices are located right downtown (333 Washington St) and I think she said she is looking in Allston, Cambridge and a few other places. Have you two got any suggestions? She is wanting something "older" with character and not overrun with college kids. I will have to ask for a more complete listing of what she deems acceptable locations...

Did you guys see that M_I_C_K_E_Y (Amy) has been contacted by a rep from Disney legal and told she is engaging in copyright infringement?

I also read that they issued a "cease and desist" to TikiMan who had a site about the Polynesian.

Apparently they are getting serious!

Of course people will still sell counterfeit pins by the thousands on eBay and nothing will happen to them.

I also read that they issued a "cease and desist" to TikiMan who had a site about the Polynesian.

Apparently they are getting serious!

Of course people will still sell counterfeit pins by the thousands on eBay and nothing will happen to them.

Two Disney packages

How exciting!

I spoke with my parents tonight. My dad had a stress test yesterday and evidently their is a concern. He is going in Monday for a heart catheterization on Monday. This isn't the first one either. He had a mild heart attack about 18 years ago and has had further blockages on an off throughout the years. Luckily they have been able to remove them with stents and angioplasty. If you could send good thoughts/wishes his way I would appreciate it.

So here is how my week is looking for August:

Mon 8/11 - arrive at BC. Walk over to Epcot. Early dinner at Biergarten.
Tue 8/12 - Blizzard Beach in AM, B&C for dinner, Fantasia golf
Wed. 8/13 - MK, early dinner at 1900 Park Fare, MK (hoping for P&PP this night)
Thur 8/14 - sleep in, HS, dinner with the DDA gang, HS
Fri - 8/15 - Epcot

I've asked the kids and Bob if there is anything that they don't want to do, and all said that they could skip AK this time around. That makes planning easier!

Sounds like a great plan. I really need to work on mine!

So DS won 3rd place! Yay! Now we don't have to fight about who has to drive the display board to the other school! He got a nice medal and a certificate. He did very well playing the snare and the bass drum.

Thanks! I know it will make things easier. Only problem is the clips on the harness strap are near impossible to undo. I called MacLaren (in the UK) and they will send me a UPS pickup slip to send the stroller to their repair department in NY. I was going to just take the straps off as Emma won't need them but I think I'll need them if I'm going to try to resell the stroller in the future and I do have enough time to get it taken care of so I think I should just do it.

Although the Hearts On Fire diamond company did not budge on the salary offering, they did promise Kathrin a salary review in June if she "knocks their socks off" at her new job. She called the other company and told them she had accepted another job. She is beyond tickled, to say the least. Oh, and she told me that when I meet her new co-workers they will all be sock-less.

The plan is to find an apartment and roommate already in an area she is interested in and be moved in no later than March 15!

Congrats to Kathrin and on moving and finding a place to live!

Bernadette - Glad you like the stroller. Between all the chaos over the holidays I never did tell you how much I enjoyed the kids notes in your Christmas card. Joe's song made me laugh, and believe me I didn't do much of that at the time.

Jennifer, Janet, Bernadette & Tammi - We are booked for dinner at Cape May on 8/14/08 at 5:45 PM. Our only other choice was 8:55 or separate tables. Hopefully that works for everyone!

The number they gave me for group dining didn't work. The first CM I got tried to transfer me and I got disconnected. The second CM was REALLY confused on the dates and chatted with me for a really LONG time before she 1) finally agreed I couldn't book beyond 8/14 and 2) transferred me to group dining. The girl at group dining was quite efficient and got us booked with no problem!

Guess that means that today I need to get busy on birthday plans and basement cleaning! We do have a list of party games now so that's done. Just have to get the stuff ready for it and design all of the elements needed. Maybe I'll download the PhotoShop trial and give it a go on that.

I've set some new goals for myself.

Yesterday I managed to clean both bathrooms and do 3 loads of laundry. All 5 kids were home as school was cancelled due to icy roads. We got about 5 inches of snow before it switched over to freezing rain. Chris called around 9 AM to warn me that I probably wouldn't get out of our driveway I ended up shoveling the big pile at the end of the drive that the snowplow left and with all the rain and warming temps I was able to get to work.

It started snowing again just a few minutes ago. We are expected to get 6 - 12 inches. Now I wonder if they will cancel school early Colby has school at 11:30 this morning and he is supposed to have a speech assessment, hopefully that goes as planned as it has already be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Snowboarding is planned for tonight. I am praying that the roads stay safe enough to get us there and back and for the program not to cancel.

We dodged a bullet last night. The storm system that pushed through at about 1:30 a.m. (setting off our sirens) was responsible for spawning 60 tornados, and the current death toll is 44 (in three states) and rising.

A blanket of prayers for everyone today!

WOW!!!! Will they stop folks wearing homemade shirts and using homemade autograph books?

They are crazy to put the screws on Steve (TikiMan) do you know how many folks have stayed at the Poly because of his site?

I had to come to work today to get some information out to folks who need to get to me by Friday.

I think I'll head home soon. Before the ice hits. The kids have an early release day today so I don't know how much rest I'll get.

I am going to need an ark to pick Alyssa up from school today!

My mom just sent us the most amazing Valentine's package.

Enclosed were new shirts for the kids, a sweater for me, money for a "date" night, new books for the kids, and homemade goodies (pretzel sticks dipped in caramel and chocolate, chocolate covered oreos, heart cut-out cookies).

I'm glad I'm not dieting right now!
