Did you guys see that M_I_C_K_E_Y (Amy) has been contacted by a rep from Disney legal and told she is engaging in copyright infringement?

I also read that they issued a "cease and desist" to TikiMan who had a site about the Polynesian.

Apparently they are getting serious!

Of course people will still sell counterfeit pins by the thousands on eBay and nothing will happen to them.

I just saw the post from Amy. I am sorry that she had to stop designing. I also will stop (not that I've done much lately anyway). Guess I should remove the link from my signature.

I spoke with my parents tonight. My dad had a stress test yesterday and evidently their is a concern. He is going in Monday for a heart catheterization on Monday. This isn't the first one either. He had a mild heart attack about 18 years ago and has had further blockages on an off throughout the years. Luckily they have been able to remove them with stents and angioplasty. If you could send good thoughts/wishes his way I would appreciate it.

Wow, congratulations! This multipost thing has really slowed me down!

Although the Hearts On Fire diamond company did not budge on the salary offering, they did promise Kathrin a salary review in June if she "knocks their socks off" at her new job. She called the other company and told them she had accepted another job. She is beyond tickled, to say the least. Oh, and she told me that when I meet her new co-workers they will all be sock-less.

The plan is to find an apartment and roommate already in an area she is interested in and be moved in no later than March 15!

I hadn't followed the TikiMan story since I saw it on Resorts the other day. I am glad it isn't being shut down!
I have to wonder WHY Amy was singled out, and how they found her in particular. If Disney ever read this forum they would find multiple people engaging in the same "infringement", so I don't really know how she ended up on their radar.

I am going to need an ark to pick Alyssa up from school today!

My mom just sent us the most amazing Valentine's package.

Enclosed were new shirts for the kids, a sweater for me, money for a "date" night, new books for the kids, and homemade goodies (pretzel sticks dipped in caramel and chocolate, chocolate covered oreos, heart cut-out cookies).

I'm glad I'm not dieting right now!

What a nice care package! My mother SAID she mailed my birth certificate, so if that shows up I will be happy!

Bernadette - How aggravating about the stroller straps! I hope you feel better soon!

Well, crud! Sorry the dates didn't work out! And you guys nearly drowned last summer. Hopefully they will have some parties in August! I made my one ADR with the possibility of P&PP in mind, but it could easily mess up my plans on all the other MK days! If they do have them I hope they don't have them so many nights that it is hard to avoid them.

Just the door to get out! She had asked why a firefighter would have an ax so I explained that it was to get into a house by breaking down the door if necessary. As we left the mall, the automatic doors were turned off due to the cold. So, she whacked the door a little, went out the regular door, turned around and used her "hose" on the "fire." We were definitely in character for awhile.

Amy didn't actually say in her thread that it was Disney who contacted her.

I had taken the straps off the stroller since I won't need them for Emma. I was playing with them after I put them back on and they actually seem a lot better now. Maybe they were just stiff from being in storage. I'm going to have DH give it a try. I did notice the manufacturing date was 1/21/07 (Emma's birthday ) so it has been sitting around for a while.

Were did you find those? I didn't see them on the www.disneyworld.com site. They don't match the park hours. I think there may still be hope for you.

Emma used to tease Joe about a year or so ago by saying "I am a firefighter-I can burn your house down." Joe would get so upset-"that is not what firefighters do!" but that only encoraged her more.

I am glad that it appears that our DDA friends escaped the horrible storms last night, unscathed.

Tia (and Bernadette, for that matter): Her new offices are located right downtown (333 Washington St) and I think she said she is looking in Allston, Cambridge and a few other places. Have you two got any suggestions? She is wanting something "older" with character and not overrun with college kids. I will have to ask for a more complete listing of what she deems acceptable locations...

My office wasn't far from there. I would suggest that she not look too hard in Allston. There are A LOT of college kids around there. I lived on the Brighton side of the road for a couple of years and my street was fine, but just across Commonwealth Ave were tons of college kids. There are definitely some good areas to live in there, but it is hit or miss to avoid the college groups. Though since she is looking for a roommate she could ask those questions easily.

In Cambridge, we lived on Fulkerson Rd. It was very near the Lechmere station of the green line and SOOOOO easy to get into work from. I really liked that whole area. It's walking distance to MIT, but seems to be more families in that area than college students. Anywhere along Cambridge St in that area would be nice. There is an area called Inman Square just up from Fulkerson where there are some cute shops, bakeries, etc. Plus, it's a short bus ride (or train ride if you walk over to the Red Line) to Harvard Square. There is a big mall very close as well, plus grocery options and Target.

Speaking of Harvard Square, there are definitely more college kids in that area, but it always seemed a lot different around there to me than the Boston Univ or College areas. (Also, recommend Mr. Bartley's in Harvard Square. It's a great place for burgers and very quirky in the crowded/busy/delicious kind of way.)

Of all the places we lived, Phil and I both liked Cambridge the most. It just became to expensive for us when we needed something without roommates. It was very convenient to the places we liked to go (downtown and Harvard Square), easy to walk/bus/train to shopping since we didn't have a car, and convenient to multiple transportation options.

Hope that helps some. If you get a list of other areas she's looking at. Let me know and I'll see if I have other thoughts there.

Also there is a thread (waiting for P&PP) on the theme park board where people are already buying their tickets. I can't believe its not on Disney's site yet but they are selling tickets for those dates.

For those of you who have inquired about the designs I have already done for you... Wear them, enjoy them, Have a Magical Disney Trip!

I did not post this so anyone would be alarmed but I didn't want to leave and have you wonder why?

The legal issue came from a representative of Disney - in which they requested that I "discontinue the infrigements..." So that is what I needed to do. All should be fine since I have complied with their request.

Thank you all for your kindness and understanding and know that I will miss designing and will miss our little (or big) DISign community.

Bernadette - Glad the straps are a little better now! But if Emma doesn't need them then I guess there is no rush to get them replaced!

Anne Marie - Cool pics! Good luck with P&PP! I have looked at the Disney site (the regular page and the Passholder page) and they haven't posted anything yet, so things can still change. They LOVE to change things, you know!

DH said an envelope from my mother arrived today, so we'll hope it's my birth certificate! He said she addressed it to both of us. Bizarre. He said I got a "reminder" card for an eye appt. I never made. It sounds like one of those here they schedule you and then you are supposed to call if you can't make it. Since they made it for 9 AM on a day I have to take Princess to school I am not going to be able to be there! And we STILL have no ID cards for the vision insurance.
