DDA Chapter 3

I've been asked not to name names, but this is information about Disney and the T-shirt designs:

I did have a donation link on my webpage so I am not sure if that is what spurred it or not but the wording on the letter made me think that it was not just that but content as well. This is one of the lines in the letter. I assumed that "copy" is what they mean by our placing images on the designs.

Because of these rights, no one is authorized to manufacture, copy, advertise, offer for sale or sell any products utilizing the Disney Properties without Disney’s express written permission.

Then he said "the content offered on you website violates Disney rights... requests that you discontinue the infringements that appear..."

I made the decision to stop all designing even though he never mentioned the boards. It only takes one letter from a legal professional for me to stop, take notice and learn.

The designer is obviously a bit shaken up and doesn't want to draw anymore attention to herself. I thought this information helpful and she was willing to let me share without using names

Thanks for the info Deb.

How are your projects going? Are you getting lots done? I'm getting lots of my work done. I worked until midnight last night.

Nicholas and Alyssa love to play on Toontown too!
So do my three!
I spoke with my parents tonight. My dad had a stress test yesterday and evidently their is a concern. He is going in Monday for a heart catheterization on Monday. This isn't the first one either. He had a mild heart attack about 18 years ago and has had further blockages on an off throughout the years. Luckily they have been able to remove them with stents and angioplasty. If you could send good thoughts/wishes his way I would appreciate it.
Prayers for your dad.

20,000 posts!

thanks for everything DDA:goodvibes
Congrats!

Well we survived the Hannah Montana outing. All 3 of the girls (Emma, Molly and my niece Alyssa) enjoyed it a lot. It was very loud. Tammi, I think you mentioned that the screaming concert girls were too much- they were! But I guess it made it seem a lot more realistic. At least my ears aren't ringing :rotfl:

With that I am off to bed, I think I am still recuperating from our vacation!
We're debating about taking all three. The boys love her music too. They have extended the movie here indefinitely. We didn't buy tickets originally as we were supposed to be in WDW right now.

Although the Hearts On Fire diamond company did not budge on the salary offering, they did promise Kathrin a salary review in June if she "knocks their socks off" at her new job. She called the other company and told them she had accepted another job. She is beyond tickled, to say the least. Oh, and she told me that when I meet her new co-workers they will all be sock-less. :rotfl:

The plan is to find an apartment and roommate already in an area she is interested in and be moved in no later than March 15!
Cngrats!!!
Good morning!

It was"Kids Night on Broadway" last night. Katie & I went to see Hairspray. George Wendt (from Cheers) was Edna Turnblat (the mom). He made the show..he was great. The rest was o.k. not a blockbuster but Katie absolutely LOVED it!! Thought it was the best thing ever. We got home at midnight & surprisingly I am not that tired..I guess it will hit me later!;)
How much fun. Love the pictures too.

Guess that means that today I need to get busy on birthday plans and basement cleaning! We do have a list of party games now so that's done. Just have to get the stuff ready for it and design all of the elements needed. Maybe I'll download the PhotoShop trial and give it a go on that.
Can't wait to see all the b'day stuff.

I've set some new goals for myself. I am back on my diet, cutting way back on soda and limiting my computer time.

I have found that I am gaining weight, having heart burn again and I spend so much time on the computer that I am neglecting my other responsibilities. I was very good yesterday and did not turn my computer on until after work last night. That is my goal. I wouldn't have logged on this morning had I been able to post last night.

Hopefully I'll be more productive and feel better.

ETA: 3000th post. It looks like we will need a new thread very soon.
Congrats on the milestone and on your personal goals.

Did you guys see that M_I_C_K_E_Y (Amy) has been contacted by a rep from Disney legal and told she is engaging in copyright infringement? :scared1:

I also read that they issued a "cease and desist" to TikiMan who had a site about the Polynesian.

Apparently they are getting serious!

Of course people will still sell counterfeit pins by the thousands on eBay and nothing will happen to them.:rolleyes1
I would think maybe her website was flagged?

I'm feeling pretty lousy today. I've got a nasty head cold. I couldn't sleep last night-I tried to sign on the Dis but it was down. I tried to finish up my last few photopass borders but it was wonky too.

I had to come to work today to get some information out to folks who need to get to me by Friday.

I think I'll head home soon. Before the ice hits. The kids have an early release day today so I don't know how much rest I'll get.
Bernadette, feel better!

I am going to need an ark to pick Alyssa up from school today!

My mom just sent us the most amazing Valentine's package.

Enclosed were new shirts for the kids, a sweater for me, money for a "date" night, new books for the kids, and homemade goodies (pretzel sticks dipped in caramel and chocolate, chocolate covered oreos, heart cut-out cookies).

I'm glad I'm not dieting right now! :rotfl:
Now we know where Suzy homemaker gets it from!

Official dates are up for P&PP
Apr 1, 4, 6 11 16 & 23
May 2 9 16 21 26 & 31
June 4

Since our dates are 4/24-4/29 we miss them!

Hopefully there will be parties in August
Hey, we'll be at WDW 4/26-5/3! I'd love to meet you!

Is Everyone sitting down?

We got to go snowboarding tonight :rotfl:

The weather cleared up just in time and we had a wonderful night. The conditions were perfect as we had warmer temperatures and freshish snow. Colby is getting the hang of it and Nick and Hunter were able to use the lift again. I took one run on my new skis. They are a different and it took a while to get the hang of it, but I think they will be nice. Chris took a couple of runs and All in all we had a great time.
That sounds like fun. Although I'd be at the bottom of the slope watching and drinking hot chocolate.

Elizabeth, congrats to your DS on 3rd place.

Paula, glad the shots are going better for y'all.

Kristine, you are in my prayers!

Glynis, that recipe sounds really good!

Hi Denise - I was sorry to hear that your trip had to be postponed once again, hopefully you are alll on the mend now.

BTW, that cake in your signature picture looks Wonderful!

Well, the kids didn't have school yesterday and I kept Colby home today as the weather was nasty when he needed to go. The Speech testing was cancelled due to the weather so I couldn't see dragging him out. So even with the kids around the house is looking better. We also finished Nick's pop-up book project that is due at the end of the week. I only helped with the physical assembly. I bet he had a dozen hours in that project. I have another sewing project partially laid out. I guess I'm slowly making progess. My heartburn is better and I am sticking to the diet :thumbsup2

Thanks, Debbie. The cake is from Publix. It's one of their Decadent Desserts and is called Chocolate Lover's Delight. It was for John's b'day. IT WAS TO DIE FOR!!!

I haven't started my eating healthy plan yet but that starts this week-end (if not sooner). I have some major things at work that are stressing me so I'm not sure if I will start sooner. However, I have to start by this week-end. I'm not going to fit in my shorts for our trip otherwise.

My shirt still isn't finished. I put it away the other night because I was depressed that it washed me out. I will get that finished by this week-end and will start another.

I am slowly cleaning out the two boxes of paper that is left to organize. My office looks fantastic. I want to spend more time down there because it feels like an office/craft room now.

I was getting behind at work so have been putting a lot of time into getting caught back up. I'm making a huge dent in that. Once that gets caught up, my life should settle down.

Katrina is going to bring her scrapbooking stuff home after this week-end so I'm hoping we'll be able to start scrapbooking together.

Chuck wants to start exercising so I plan on starting that this week-end as well.

Deb-thanks for the information from the designer.

So glad your time away from the computer has been productive!!

:faint: :dance3: I'm glad that you finally got to go. More so that you ALL got to hit the mountain at least a little. Glad you had a good time!

I'm glad that you've got a plan in place. I'll be checking up on you and you can check up on me too. My goal is to have our interior painting and flooring complete before our June trip. There is a lot to do so I must start making progress.

Yeah! A project done and it's not due for a few more days. Way to go Nick!! That sounds like one big project! Lots of work.

Sounds like a great plan all around! I've been trying to focus on getting some big projects done too. Not always easy (or fun :( ) but still plunging ahead on them. Good luck all around!

That's a big project! Good luck, though I know that you can do it. I was trying to come up with a timeline on getting the basement done, but am at a loss for how much work it is going to be. I also have to take into account that I can only throw out so much at each week's trash pick up. For now, the goal is to max out my trash can for each week's pick up and work from there.

Paula & Denise - it was so very nice to come on here tonight and read about your families. :)

Deb & Vicki - You two have set great goals for yourselves and I know you are going to get so much done!

Tia - thank you SO much for your input on areas in Boston for Kathrin to look at apartments. I know she has ideas, but it does this Mom's heart good to have some concrete into to pass along. :goodvibes

You're certainly welcome. When I moved to Boston it was almost totally blind. I knew one person from there, but he wasn't a lot of help at the time, though I could count on him to veto places if necessary. Between me and Phil, we've probably lived in more than a half dozen areas of the city, so we're glad to help. (Though it makes Phil homesick to think about it - me too actually, he lived in more places than I did and is a better source of information.)

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a great plan :thumbsup2

Isn't it funny how we all tend to run in the same cycles. We must be in the organization/homemaker cycle now. This is good news as I can use all the motivation that I can get.
