Chuck asks daily how things are going as well. He sometimes checks in and reads himself. Tell Chris that we miss him and his humor.

I will tell him. Maybe I can get him to pop in tomorrow. We have an entire day off together tomorrow. I think we need to split wood for part of the day and I promised him Friendly's sundaes, that should put him a good mood.

That would be a bit tough to explain. :lmao: I take it she didn't get any hint as to who was being chosen.

Vertigo is no fun at all. I hope that it passes quickly. My Dad had it pretty bad after he was in that train accident a few years ago. Thankfully it did pass with time.

nope, no hint....dang nabbut!!

I gotta say it's awfully nice to have a chatty Saturday!!:goodvibes

But you all are probably about asleep....

Good Night DDA!!

Theresa - Great pictures, Cassidy is beautiful.

Glynis - Glad Katie was able to find the perfect suit.

The DIS meet was fun again, one of the other couples will be leaving for Disney on the 23rd also so we'll be trying to meet up with them. Too bad they are leaving the kids behind as Brandon would enjoy meeting them.

It's a rainy afternoon here in Utah! Luckily, it was clear enough this morning for us to get the garden spot cleared and ready to be tilled up. Alan also transplanted the strawberries to a spot where they won't get trampled. He's excited to get planting, but won't do it for a couple of days while the ground dries out a bit.

Jacob had a birthday party this morning, and the twins are at a party now. Katie and I went swim suit shopping, and were expecting to spend many hours looking for a suit for her. She's at that awkward stage where her top and bottom sizes don't match. However, we got to our first store, and found 3 suits she liked. She tried on 2 one piece suits, and they were ok, but really didn't flatter her figure at all! However, the third suit was a tankini, and once she tried it on, we knew it was the suit for her! It is just darling! She took one look at herself in the mirror and broke into a huge smile! "It doesn't make me look fat!" was her exclamation! I almost cried with joy! Her self-esteem has been sinking due to some mean girls at school, but this really perked her up! We also found her a new pj set, and some earrings for when she can change her studs. All in all, I'd say it was a good day for Katie.

Since the kids did so much work at the house today, we are going to take them to Cabela's to watch the fish being fed. It's really something to watch! The kids love it! Then we'll take them upstairs to the Wild West Shooting Gallery. They love this as well. I might even be able to talk Alan into buying some buffalo burgers for dinner. Cross your fingers.

Have a good evening, everyone!

I can't believe I missed this earlier!!

Great on finding a suit at the first store.....her reaction made me tear up a bit. I so know how you felt!!

I'm starting to think about adding a day or 2 onto the beginning of our trip and going to Universal first. The problem is I know nothing about it. Chanon or Kristine or Deb, or anyone, will a day and a half be enough, and what's the difference between the 3 hotels? Are they all close? Within walking distance? Do they have discounts, like WDW does, or is it all rack rate? Anything else that I should know?

Universal is fun! Everything is definately within walking distance so no worries on picking a hotel. Royal Pacific is the cheapest, then Hard Rock Hotel and finally Portafino Resort. Portafino is the furthest away, then Royal Pacific and Hard Rock are about the same in walking distance...RP being closer to IoA, HR being closest to UO.
I think if you plan ok, you'd be fine doing both parks in a day and a half - with planning because you know what you can ride and what you can't with the kids. Since you're staying onsite you already have a heads up with ride lines - and it realy does help more than Disney's FP system.
As for discounts, they do offer AAA and Supersaver rates though they come out a different times so if you book early you want to call back and check and see if any more discounts come out. (Like if you book AAA, supersaver may come out a month or two later.)
If you do Sea World, I'd suggest doing the guided tour because it's hard to fit everything in in one day with all the timed event's they have there.

Off to get ready for church and then off to a baseball game! :teeth:

Vicki - I hope Chuck's vertigo "goes" quickly. No fun!

I have an 8:30 meeting with a student and a consultant from Yamaha. (This guy is Kristin's age! ... so young he can't rent a car. He took the train down from NYC yesterday and will return this morning so I will be done by 11:30 when I drop him at the station. I have watched him grow up through Yamaha so it is kind of exciting to see where he is going with his music.

This afternoon I plan to work outside if it isn't too hot. Yesterday I bought 5 flats of annuals and mulch and potting mix and intend to get my containers all started. I also want to mow the lawn but I am thinking that might have to wait until later in the afternoon due to the heat.

Have good days, everyone!

Good Morning,

I put this together to show just how much Aubrey has grown in the last 6 weeks, I "borrowed" Amy's technique of using a stuffy to show the difference,

I have yard work plans today also Elin, I'm headed to Lowes in a little while to pick up some annuals and tomatoes. I plan on mowing the front but I don't think I'm up for the back today.

Thanks, Chanon!

I've been reading both US and SW forums here on the DIS. I'm leaning more towards US but then maybe we should wait until next year so the HP section will be open. I'll have to think on it more.

Wow, that is a big difference. You can't see it so much without the stuffies.

Good morning. :)

My yardwork is done, thanks to Bob. He did it yesterday after the party. I took him out to dinner at Pancho Villa as "payment." I have no idea what we will do today, other than head to church. There is a lot of running around that I could do, and I have a few things that need to be returned. I could go get my hanging baskets that I hang from the front porch.

Debbie, do you put your tomatos in containers?

I normally put them a couple of big pots, and plant them in the miracle grow soil, this year I want to try and hang a couple and see what the fuss is all about. We love home grown tomatos

Thanks, Chanon!

We're taking Brandon to Sea World this trip, I've booked the VIP tour, it was pretty pricey but hopefully it will be worth it. With the predicted crowd levels I suggested doing a day at Universal to DH but he thinks it would be too much to do all three in one trip. That and the fact that Brandon has motion sickness issues he's afraid that he wouldn't be able to do a lot of the rides.

Maybe I'll wait on your SW report. The kids will be able to ride 3 of their rides, not that their are very many of them. They would be able to do most things at US. I priced out SW and for 2 nights room and 2 day tix it would be $500 for the 4 of us. That's w/o the VIP tour.

Are you staying at SW or just going over for the day? Driving or taking transpo? With the one day ticket you get another free day, so that's why I was planning on staying over there. I'll have to look at all the options more closely.
