DDA Chapter 15

Well I most certainly don't want to be a drag, but I have had a really bad weekend. My plan was to for Terry and I to lay out our cruise stateroom door. Pick our tshirts for each day. Have fun with my sister who I was supposed to pick up from the train station yesterday.

Instead I am getting ready to go to a memorial for a friend of mine that I have known and loved for 30 years. She was 100 years young.

An acclaimed artist and award winning bridge player, we met at a writers class at F&M many years ago. I feel so lost. It doesn't help that my Mom's birthday would have been this week.

My sister's best friend's mother died last week. My sister has been so busy with the funeral and giving comfort, that she was sort of relieved when I called her Saturday and asked that she wait to come until Monday. She needed to spend the weekend getting ready for the trip.

And then my daughter's friend from college, her mother died yesterday. So I am hoping with that, that is our 3.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer. I am trying so hard to just focus on the 12 days!! But even that is not working.

I am so sorry, Stephanie. That is an awful week, I agree.

Good morning...I think I am finally getting caught up on my sleep. I took 3, count them, 3 naps yesterday. Not much else got accomplished but that's ok as I am finally feeling a bit human again.

The girls and I are headed to church and I then I need to start getting our clothes washed for the trip. I am meeting 2 girlfriends tonight for a few hours, should be fun.

You aren't Debbie Downer. You actually helped give me a reality check. to you. I'm so sorry. I've been sitting here feeling sorry for myself because I want to decorate but can't (major sinus headache -- I hope yours is gone Jennifer) and my shoulder is really sore, when I should be following our Church lesson today and giving thanks for all I have.

It's halftime (GO COWBOYS!) so I'm going to take some more Excedrin, log off and try to take a nap, and hopefully wake up with an attitude check and a little energy to decorate a few things.

It really doesn't take me more than a couple of hours to pack for Disney anymore. I have an electronic list of everything we need so that we don't forget anything. All of the stuff that is only used at Disney is packed in a box together. Otherwise, it is just a matter of getting our clothes and toiletries together.

That's not the point.

I can get it for you. If you could post a picture of what it looks like, that would help. I'm a visual person.

So, I'm multi tasking today, I have laundry going, I'm trying to finish our trip report and I put some eggs on to boil to make a tuna salad, well I forgot about the eggs until I smelled something, I burned the boiled eggs

Luckily they didn't get too bad and smoke up the joint.

Oh, ick! Hard boiled eggs give me the heebie-jeebies to begin with. Burned ones are just beyond words!

I have got my Christmas ornaments purchased for the exchange. I just need to get them boxed up and sent out!
Two more days of work until I have a night off!
I am getting tired!
They are talking about giving us Thanksgiving Day off. But, then they would make us work Friday! UHMMMM! I need to start and finish my Christmas shopping! I am actually thinking of braving the crowds on BF!
I guess if I do have to work, I will get up early do the shopping and come home for a nap!

I'm off shopping. I need to scope out some black friday sales and pick up groceries etc. The play date is over, and boy were they quiet I'm sure we'll have him over again very soon That was Colby's first official friend over. Logan is here all the time, but he doesn't count.

Okay -- my head is just not going to let me lay down right now, so I'm up getting things done. My cousin just called, and she's been looking for a Stephen Pyles cookbook that has a whipping cream recipe in it. She tried the whipping cream last year and loved it, but she hasn't been able to find what cookbook it's in. She thinks it's either a regular whipping cream, or maybe a bourbon whipping cream. If anyone has Pyles cookbooks, would you look please?
