DD(3) has two corneal abrasions...

She was at MIL's house today playing with a plastic "Happy Mother's Day" plant sign... accidently stuck it in her eye. I took her to the Dr. after I picked her up and sure enough the dye test showed 2 abrasions right over her pupil in her left eye.

She has to go back tomorrow for a re-check. She isn't very happy. The whole area around her eye is swollen and red (she looks like a one-eyed raccoon). Poor Baby...

MIL feels awful. So does Abby.

Hugs to her and you.
We watch them so carefully and then something you wouldn't expect happens.
Ask about putting warm, wet washcloth/compresses over her eyes to soothe them.
(sterilized water)
Did the Dr. prescribe drops or ointment ?
Corneal abrasions can hurt quite a bit sometimes.
Hope it heals quickly.

I hope she's feeling better soon! Kids seem to heal pretty fast and they're so resiliant. Hugs to you!

I'm so sorry! Not that this helps now but DH had a horrible
corneal injury and it healed really quickly! The ER doc said
he'd never seen anything worse; a van window corner cut
right into DH's eye and before we knew it - it was healed.

Don't know if it helps, but my pug's corneal tear healed quite nicely...

(but he's never bruised his cornmeal)

rfom one with serious corneal scratching,,lol,, 2/3 of my right eye was gone after wreck,, it wil heal ok, its no problem , was uncomfortable, but was actuially in good shape by a month or 2 after the aci9dent. prayers and pixie dust coming your way
