We went on our first cruise in 1999 on the MAGIC. When we were coming back from our excursion to Blue Lagoon we took a picture of the ships docked. Unfortunately we were FAR AWAY so it is hard to see, but one of the Premier boats was in Nassau at the same time. I had that picture blown up and then cut out the part with the ships and posted it on a kitchen cabinet--my daily cruise fix.
We had guests one time and one of the boys saw the photo, pointed to the ship and said, "I went on that, the Big Red Boat, it's dinky."

It was this boat "The Big Red Boat" that got us dreaming about cruisng with Disney. We saw a commercial on tv in about 1991 and I said then that I had to go on that boat. Unfortunately it wasn't until 2005 that we were finally able to do that and we loved our 7-day cruise in December 2005. It was well worth the wait and now we are doing it again for 2 weeks this December 2006.

Thanks for this picture. It was so cool to relive our initial dream to cruise with Disney. The Disney Magic sure makes The Big Red Boat look tiny now.

We were on the 6th sailing of the Magic in 1998. This link below is to our web site. If you scroll down to the 2nd photo, you will see the Big Red Boat docked next to the Magic in Nassau. It doesn't look too bad in that photo, just smaller!

Someone I work with recently told me that the Big Red Boat sunk! I'll need to look for more information about it.
Actually it was the Seabreeze, which was also owned by Premier Cruise lines, that sank on its way to the ship breakers in India. The Big Red Boat III was sold to the Breakers and arrived in Alang, India on June 5, 2003 to be dismantled.
Premier Cruise lines filed for Bankruptcy in Sept. 2000 and 3 of their ships were seized in Freeport, Bahamas.

I remember my first cruise aboard the Wonder. We stopped in Freeport and we saw the Big Red Boat II and III laid up there faded red paint and rusting. Very humbling.

Here is a website that makes you think about these old ships.

This was taken last year on the West Coast Cruise in Cabo San Lucas as we sailed back from Los Arcos.

Great!!!

And the action shot of the kiddo on the slide!! WOW--no chance to mistake that for action. Looks like he is having FUN!

(Now why won't they let adults join the fun? :rotfl2: )
