If you book a dcl cruise on cash. do you get a percentage off for being a dvc member? or is it rack rates?

You do get a discount if you book thru member services - I'm not sure what the percentage is but on our 01/08 cruise we got a few hundred dollars off...

If you are booking totally on cash, then you will go through DCL or a travel agent as any other person would. If you are booking a combination of points and cash then you will go through DVC Member Services. They contract each year with DCL to provide a cash discount price for those booking on points. It is not their best discount for sure, but it is also not rack rate. It varies by cruise, and is usually somewhere in the middle.

You will also pay the $95 booking fee, and any cash amounts as well are due in full at time of booking.

I didn't realize there are some discounts offered if you book a cruise with points and cash... I wonder if it would be worth it to use points for just the first person and then pay cash for the remainder, to take advantage of the "savings" for passengers 2,3 & 4. I don't think it's worth it for me to use all points, but I'd be willing to part with a few points if it gets me a cash discount.
