Day 3 - Mon.6/25 It's EE at MK! Get the bus at 6:45 and arrive at gate at 7:05. CM comes out and asks DD6 and DS3 if they'd like to open the park!!! What a thrill! They got a certificate with their names printed on them and at 7:30 got a wand and some Pixie dust and used their magic to open the gates! Of course at that point we were told to run because the stampede was about to begin. WE had 7:40 PS at Cindy's and were 1st people there. Loved it of course!(Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, and Prince Charming and Fairy Godmother in lobby)

At 8:40 DH and DD headed for SM. ds and I got FP for Peter pan(9:20), rode carosel 3 times, IT's a Small World, Pooh with no lines. Waited 5 minutes for Haunted Mansion then did FP for Peter Pan. Waited 10 minutes for Aladdin and then walked through Swiss Family Treehouse. Met Dh and DD at 10:30 who had ridden Space Mt 4 times and we all did Lion King show. Left the park alittle after 11 and went back to cbr for pool, hair weave (for DD), afternoon cocktails for adults.

Took bus to Downtown about 4:30 and ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. I would recommend this for a quick, delicious meal at DD. Shopped for a while - bought DD areally cool Buzz Lightyear shirt at sStudio M personalized with my ds's name. Then did some damage shopping at the Big Disney store. WE stopped for ice cream at Ghiardella's and boy was my banana split yummy!!! Played at the Lego store for a while and walked around Pleasure Island. Headed back around 8:30 and hung out onthe beach at CBR.

What a special memory! I'm sure opening the MK will be something they will always remember! All that and getting to eat at the castle too. Boy what a day!:)

What a treat. Your kids must have so excited. Thanks for posting.

How does one get to open the park? And do they always pick children to do it? My DH and I are going in Sept and I have always wanted to open the park, but we don't have any children yet....

Thanks for the info

The hair wraps cost 1.50 per inch and they allow you up to 4 colors plus an additional cost for beads. My DD cost $15 until she asked for her name in beads-- the charge $2 for EACH letter of the name --6 letters in her name! She after decorative beads the wrap cost $30. Imust say it's held up pretty well-- its been 9 days and itls still pretty secure. Last summer she got one at Six Flags that fell out the nest day!!!!

We were one of the 1st families on line and we were at a turnstill all the way over to the left(by ourselves). The other families waiting were all the way to the right (facing MK). I'm pretty sure they only want childdren because they did not invite my DH and I to participate. (but then again who would take pictures and video anyway???) So I would guess you are out of luck until your offspring arrive. Or could it hurt to ask????

They are lucky they got to open the park!!
I got the hair beads last time I went..LOVE IT!
Thanks for the report!
