This was our first day at sea. Guess what we did after breakfast?.......BINGO..........Then my DS-I-L and I tried to book the Wine Tasting and it was filled up. So we booked it for Thursday afternoon. We spent the afternoon at the Quiet Cove pool. Of course, we participated in Pool Games. This year it was run by Ellen. We remembered her from last summer's cruise. First, there was the scavenger hunt, then there was a relay race. Since at this point (I had had a few) I wasn't too successful at the scavenger hunt. However, I felt fairly competitive during the relay. Ellen was really nice so we all received medals for our efforts.

Before dinner we attended "Pirates of the Caribbean". It was really good. Dinner was in Luminere's tonight - our first formal night. Our family picture came out great. Following dinner we attended Dan Riley which was good. Then............70s night began. Last year, when we attended this event, it was funny but they dragged out the antics and we never got to dance to the 70s music. This time things were quite a bit different............

We arrived late so we were seated at the bar all night. As soon as the 70s music came on, we started dancing. Next thing you know, She She comes up and asks me to help her judge a contest alittle later. (I KNEW what this meant and I started panicking.) Soon enough, she took me and two other women to Que in front of the audience and informed us that we would be performing a Gloria Gaynor competition singing "I Will Survive!" We went offstage and the competition began. I was shaking in my shoes!!! I always imagined doing something like this, but this time, I was really doing it. She She gave us a few tips and then sent us off. It was hysterical. I can't believe I had the guts to do it!!

Next we were asked to judge the John Travolta competition. Each performer was funny but the highlight was when JT #2 (who was wearing a kilt) lifted his skirt to the Judges (that would be myself and the other two GGs). Once again, I was laughing my head off!!!!!!! Guess who won!

The final event of the evening was the performance by the Village People. For this, my brother and my dad were included in this performance with 3 others. It was very funny again. Finally, the 70s music came on and everyone was up. It was an outstanding night and I highly recommend it.

Hello! Great job in the Gloria Gaynor contest! (Were you the second or third Gloria?) They were all great! Didn't you just LOVE the guy in the kilt? That was the best John Travolta ever! I took two pictures of that guy and am still laughing about it! Also, you know that guy "Christopher from New Yawk" that was in every pool game, Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer, and was the 3rd John Travolta? Well, I got a picture with him at the airport on the way home! Funny huh? I showed it to everyone around here and people keep asking if he was a Chippendales dancer (and I don't mean the Disney kind!:) )There were definitely some fun people on this sailing! Can't wait for our next Disney cruise in July! :)

Yes, we bumped into Christoffer quite a bit. I was Gloria Gaynor #3. Trust me it was all scripted. I was a nervous wreck. What a funny night. JT #2 took it away!

Catspyjmas - when are you sailing in July? I have sent you a PM!

Jo

Hi there Jo. I'm somewhat new to the boards. (Signed up right before the Aug 2 cruise actually) so I'm not sure how to retrieve the PM yet? Also, how do you post new messages on here? I've tried several times but they've never showed up on the board so I'm wondering where they disappeared to. If you have any advice as to how do this, feel free to post it here.

To answer your question, I'll be on the July 4th sailing. Hoping for some Disney fireworks! This time it'll be the Wonder with Nassau excursions as we are doing the "Land and Sea". We are staying at Grand Floridian before the boat and celebrating my mom's 55th birthday and my younger sister's college graduation there! Already looking forward to it! :)

Wow! The Grand Floridian is a dream. We always stop by there for a visit. I've stayed there a LONG TIME AGO! We had tea just before the cruise. It was so nice.

To make a new thread just choose that button before you write. Or go to the technical support link on the DISboard home page and ask for help from them.

When I retrieve a PM, I choose the DIS Discussion Forums link above and then User CP. There should be a listing of your PMs if you have received any. Just open the links to read them.

Good luck and let me know if you still can't get it.

I was there also, i was sitting along the wall right behind the judges. I happened to see JT#2 also. good job on the gloria gaynor competition, that was a fun night. They were all fun actually. The only bad thing was that everyone left after that show, and at 2am it was only us, christopher, his sister, JT #1 and a few other people in the bars.

TY David! I still can't believe I did that GG performance. All the theme nights were really fun this cruise!!! I really enjoyed the Band, Spirit, which played 70s songs after that. I was too tired to stay any later. I did get to know many of the participants of that show later in the week including JT#1 & #3 & GG#2. It was a lively group.

Did you happen to get any pictures? All the pics we took didn't come out. I have no proof of that memorable night!!

If any DISer has pictures of 70s night (Aug 2nd Western) please let me know!!

Thx - Jo
