Kimmar what did you do this time to annoy the Tag Fairy? Honestly, I've never seen anyone who gets picked on by the Tag Fairy more than you. It almost makes me think that you are the Tag Fairy.

So you want to

CASH IN YOUR COW?

I wish I had a cow to cash in!

Good morning ya'll. Hope you have all been doing well. :goodvibes

I've been good. Just really busy. But, I guess busy is good. Most of the time anyway.

Take care of yourself while on your trip. And have a great time!!

Speaking of tags, I appear to have some sort of graphic next to my scrollie, but I can't see it. It may be the little stars/sparkles things. For some reason my dad's computer blocks some images.

So, having a really nice visit with my dad. Making sure he gets plenty of "medicine."
Otherwise we've been eating, going to bookstores, and working on a puzzle!

Mean Queen -- I'm sure you've seen something locally regarding a young couple who were hit by a car on Labor Day while riding a tandem bike?? He died shortly thereafter, she passed away yesterday after being taken off life support. She was the youth director at my dad's church. I never met her, but needless to say quite a few of the folks in my dad's social circle have been impacted by this. So sad.... :sad1:

The graphic next to your tag was probably once a sparkly. Mine did the same thing before I was graced with the new tags.

I'm glad you are enjoying your visit with your dad. :goodvibes

But sorry to hear about that couple. That's just sad.

I was messing around on the Disney site last night, plugging in numbers and such, just for fun. My dad cruises a lot, so I was looking at those for kicks and giggles. I have looked into a Disney cruise in the past, so I started with that. Then I went to a non-Disney cruise site. :scared1: Apples to apples (all things included being the same, and same number of nights, same dates, stateroom category, etc.), my family of 5 could cruise Disney for just over $3k, but a non-Disney cruise would only run $1,700.....!!! I'm sorry, I know it's Disney and all, but that is a HUGE difference! I'm not considering a cruise for next year, but like I said, just playing with numbers and such. I was shocked, really. Just, wow....

.

Happy birthday Sadie....

Wow... everybody's checking in... see we may go away.. but we can never leave... (it's home)//:love: Hey.. isn't that a song.. ? Yeah.. Hotel California... "You can check out anytime you like.. but you can never leave...." We're addicted.

I KNOW!!! I've looked at it so many ways too... and just because we have too many kids we would need 2 rooms.. so after all that.. we just couldn't justify doing a Disney cruise... (it's just not made for larger families)... so once in a while we can swing the Disney trip.. but the cost isn't anywhere what the Disneycruise is... But.. we may be able to swing a non disney cruise with the kids... I'm telling you, our cruise is only costing us less than $600 ... for 4days 3 nights.. Of course with kids.. it would end up being more.. and those excursions can really add up.. but overall.. still a pretty good chance to get a taste of some of the islands. We are going to see how our couples cruise goes in January.. and then maybe plan something with the kids later... they would enjoy.
My oldest DD wants to do a trip to Germany and Iceland with her school.. it's a good oportunity.. but we will have to work the numbers out.. It's also a pretty long trip.. it would have to work around her schedule with the big swim meets, and her part time job.. ( I've been told that it would be an important year for her swimming times and college recruiting, etc.. )

I keep tossing around the idea of a cruise for DH's and my 25th anniversary (still a few years away), but the flip side of that would be WDW and finally staying at the Poly.

My new belief is that if you can make something happen without killing yourself financially..... DO IT!! August was an unbelievably bad month for us. Our middle son was in a serious accident. It was raining and he hydroplaned and hit a tree head on doing 60mph. Only spent a day in the hospital. But if you had seen the truck. Talk about being spared! Oh my goodness.... The next day my brother was rushed to the hospital he is a diabetic and his blood sugar level skyrocketed to over 900. He was incoherent. He ended up in ICU and needing his heart shocked. We almost lost him. Then 2 days later my DH's mother died. So we have a new outlook on spending time with the people we love the most. So ladies...... if it is at all possible.....make those memories.

OH my word, Smiley...... You sure have been through it. Funny how sometimes life goes along and all is just ducky, and the next thing you know, you're upside down in the middle of a whirlwind.

I have not experienced anything remotely close to your past few months, but I've had my own share of life's curveballs. Lord willing, we are planning a family trip to WDW next fall. It will require some different financial strategy than we've utilized in the past, but it will most likely be the last trip that all 5 of us take together, so I am all about making it happen if at all possible. My oldest turns 18 next year; he's had some real ups and downs (as has our family) since 2011, so this trip is very important to me. :goodvibes

I can not believe your oldest is pushing 18. Wow!! Where has the time gone? I'm here hoping and praying that your trip happens!! :goodvibes

I can't quote DH's non DIS-friendly response when he compared Disney cruise prices to non-Disney cruise prices. Suffice it to say, we're going on a non-Disney cruise.

Checking in. Yup, I'm addicted to the Dis! :rolleyes1

Hugs, Smileybug! You can replace cars, but not people. Cherish those you love and enjoy time with them. Trust me when I say, when they're gone, you will be happy you made memories with those you love.

LegoMom, enjoy your trip! If we're there at the same time, we'll get togther. I just got the go ahead to plan a trip for DH, my eldest brother and I to WDW for Nov 2014. I'll be pinching pennies until they scream, learning to squeeze blood from turnips and busting my keester at work (I'm self employed), but we will go. Here's to saving for Disney together! :thumbsup2

smiley... Oh my gosh... you've been through a lot lately.. You know what they say.. it's can only get better from here. Keep a positive attitude.. I truly believe that it helps get you through things if you have a good outlook, then good things will happen.. just push all the bad energy away. in the mean time.. sending some hugs and prayers.

Has anyone had a child with ADHD? I need some advice... PM me if you would prefer..

Well how cool would that be?!! Mine's sort of a two-part plan, and will depend on several factors (I'll write about it in another post) but I'm going ahead with it and here's hoping!
