So you want to
CASH IN YOUR COW?
I wish I had a cow to cash in!
Good morning ya'll. Hope you have all been doing well.![]()
Kimmar what did you do this time to annoy the Tag Fairy? Honestly, I've never seen anyone who gets picked on by the Tag Fairy more than you. It almost makes me think that you are the Tag Fairy.
HOT HOLY COW THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK!!!!!
Smileybug it is SO good to "see" you!! I've been wondering how you are?!

Speaking of tags, I appear to have some sort of graphic next to my scrollie, but I can't see it. It may be the little stars/sparkles things. For some reason my dad's computer blocks some images.
So, having a really nice visit with my dad. Making sure he gets plenty of "medicine."![]()
Otherwise we've been eating, going to bookstores, and working on a puzzle!
Mean Queen -- I'm sure you've seen something locally regarding a young couple who were hit by a car on Labor Day while riding a tandem bike?? He died shortly thereafter, she passed away yesterday after being taken off life support. She was the youth director at my dad's church. I never met her, but needless to say quite a few of the folks in my dad's social circle have been impacted by this. So sad....![]()
I was messing around on the Disney site last night, plugging in numbers and such, just for fun. My dad cruises a lot, so I was looking at those for kicks and giggles. I have looked into a Disney cruise in the past, so I started with that. Then I went to a non-Disney cruise site.Apples to apples (all things included being the same, and same number of nights, same dates, stateroom category, etc.), my family of 5 could cruise Disney for just over $3k, but a non-Disney cruise would only run $1,700.....!!! I'm sorry, I know it's Disney and all, but that is a HUGE difference! I'm not considering a cruise for next year, but like I said, just playing with numbers and such. I was shocked, really. Just, wow....

OH my word, Smiley......You sure have been through it. Funny how sometimes life goes along and all is just ducky, and the next thing you know, you're upside down in the middle of a whirlwind.
I have not experienced anything remotely close to your past few months, but I've had my own share of life's curveballs. Lord willing, we are planning a family trip to WDW next fall. It will require some different financial strategy than we've utilized in the past, but it will most likely be the last trip that all 5 of us take together, so I am all about making it happen if at all possible. My oldest turns 18 next year; he's had some real ups and downs (as has our family) since 2011, so this trip is very important to me.

Wow... everybody's checking in... see we may go away.. but we can never leave... (it's home)//Hey.. isn't that a song.. ? Yeah.. Hotel California... "You can check out anytime you like.. but you can never leave...." We're addicted.
My new belief is that if you can make something happen without killing yourself financially..... DO IT!! August was an unbelievably bad month for us. Our middle son was in a serious accident. It was raining and he hydroplaned and hit a tree head on doing 60mph. Only spent a day in the hospital. ... The next day my brother was rushed to the hospital he is a diabetic and his blood sugar level skyrocketed to over 900. He was incoherent. He ended up in ICU and needing his heart shocked. We almost lost him. Then 2 days later my DH's mother died. So we have a new outlook on spending time with the people we love the most. So ladies...... if it is at all possible.....make those memories.
LegoMom, enjoy your trip! If we're there at the same time, we'll get togther. I just got the go ahead to plan a trip for DH, my eldest brother and I to WDW for Nov 2014. I'll be pinching pennies until they scream, learning to squeeze blood from turnips and busting my keester at work (I'm self employed), but we will go.
