D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Hiya:wave2:

I love your play list of songs. You've got quite the collection going! I could listen to Disney music all day. I have it loaded on my iPod and sometimes when people at work are driving me nuts I close my office door and get lost in Disney music.

The puppies are very cute. I am sorry to hear though that they did not all survive. :sad1:

I hear that there are many wondering dogs overseas. When our friend returned from Kuwait he was determined to bring two dogs with him and raised 5K each to bring them home when his duty was over. One came back expecting puppies and they didn't know it. Seven puppies later he had 9 dogs plus his two that were home with his family.

That is crazy - alcoholics?? Hmm...that doesn't apply to me, that is for sure. :) I have maybe one drink a year. :)

4th part...the rate this one is going!!!

Your update....was....amazing! I can not believe you were at the border crossing that long. What a story to tell!!!! And some crazy people along the way! I hope you write a book one day.

Well, you did say that the Welsh Dragon at Rose and Crown looked intriguing---- still joining me for one of those?? That would be worthy your one drink a year...

YIKES- A fourth part?? Sounds like a lot of work- but worth it! :lmao:

Only if the book guaranteed some income. Poor DH has been job hunting all day!

 Thanks to you and Maroo for the warm welcome!

It's on my to do list for this weekend! :goodvibes

You are loved! Glad you're back on board- :dance3:

WOW.

All I can say, as I was reading this is that HE was watching you, providing you with 4 days of faith, rest and restoration (and water slides) to get you though that crossing.

It makes me want to buy you a Kitchen Aid myself!

The dough paddle is the bomb. I don't make bread mind you but for pie crust dough? And many many other things....

We are abundantly aware of His great care all the way there and back. Lots of praise, for sure!

I just need to ask my SILs if they will let me have it. I know one has a really cool Bosch that she uses to grind her wheat with twice a week. The other one doesn't LOVE to cook. I never thought of the dough hook for pie crust.

I N C R E D I B L E:worship:
Simply, incredible.
all of it, the mountains, the relaxation, the stress of borders.
wow wow wow.
thanks so much for sharing that with us, spoiled rotten folks.:thumbsup2

Oh and seriously, get a Kitchenaide stand mixer. I love mine. Asked for one for xmas for 3 years. Finally went out and bought one myself!:lmao:

KIM

Hi Kim! Hope your 4th was fabulous!

I wouldn't say you are spoiled rotten at all!! Just living a different way of life with adventures of a different kind! No less important for sure!!

That sounds like me!! I am VERY lucky to get a card for my birthday. Period.

It's a great thing to "get lost" in. I used to stream the music a lot, but it makes surfing so slow. And DIS Radio has such a limited selection.

I'm sorry to report that another one died about an hour ago. It practically ripped Mikki's heart clean out. We think Daisy is just not being very careful and smothering them one by one.

I didn't realize there was so much music just at MK. I have REALLY got to slow down during my upcoming visits.

Those are some really cute puppies.

I bet it won't take too long for your kids to adapt to everything not being a grand adventure. Hopefully the transition to so much freedom will be a smooth one for you and your family.

Morning, Marv!

Hope your 4th was great! Any drama??

I am hoping to capture a lot more of the BGM while I"m there, hence I bought a second 4 gig card. GB says he can help me "clean it up" after I get home.

Only 5 now... :sad1:

Kids are pretty flexible- a great thing, for sure! It'll be nice to have a big greasy pizza again!

Great collection of music. I need to work on mine. I lost a lot of them when my ipod decided to never turn back on.

The puppies are cute, sorry to hear about the one that passes this morning.

I love the playlist! For Fantasyland, might I suggest any of the Princess music, perhaps even something from Cinderella since it's her castle? Or you could go with the nice instrumental Sleeping Beauty theme. I think a playlist is a great idea, I'll have to emulate this for my next trip. :thumbsup2

Thanks Liesa. Up earlier than I wanted to be this morning. This is my work holiday since the 4th fell on a weekend. DS13 usually has summer conditioning for Cross Country on Mondays, but since he wasn't at practice Thursday, and the location skips around, we don't know if they are having it today or where. Had to check email for an update from his coach, but no word yet.

I do need to get on the phone soon and book my reservations for next June. 11 month window for my DVC home resort of AKV opens today.

My 4th was rather calm and relaxing. DS20 and DS17 had parties to go to at the lake. DS13 and I went to the local par-3 and hit some golf balls together. Then we enjoyed the neighborhood fireworks, and watched the huge shows on TV from Washington, DC and the Macy's fireworks from NYC. Talked to my Dad last night and wished him a Happy July 4th.

We missed on the cabbage though. All we could scrounge up was some BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, fresh green beans, potato salad and watermelon. I sincerely mean it when I say I am so glad you and your family will soon be able to enjoy those things with the rest of us.

Only 5 now... :sad1:
That's too bad! I'm guessing that one runt couldn't hang on any longer.

Might want to go slow with the greasy pizza. That can mess you up even when you have been used to eating them on a fairly regular basis.

Morning, Leslie!! Mine (my iPod) gave me a giant scare one day, but my kids worked it out for me (always like that- they are so far ahead of me techwise!). I was so thankful!! We have it all backed up though, on our iTunes.

I wish they would get stronger so they can fend for themselves a bit better!

Oh, forgot to ask...where do you get most of your music?? Just from CDs or online???

Both. I bought a lot of it, but found a lot for free at various places. I couldn't even begin to tell you where; I just remember searching for HOURS!! My plan is to keep it up after I get back, but not now, it takes far too much time to hunt!

GREAT suggestions, TK! My Fantasy Land collection is pathetic, I know. I have a long way to go there! I love the instrumental stuff, so will look for that first. So, here's the deal... you should emulate the playlist stuff, just as I intend to emulate your "Scent of the Trip" idea. But, that's getting ahead of myself...

Oh, some Ninja posting action there.. Nice.

What?! No cabbage- not even in Cole Slaw?? So sorry, Marv!

A booking coming up! Fun stuff!! I"m sure you'll tell us all about it over on your thread! :thumbsup2 The DVC is so mysterious to me...

I saw that you like to golf with your son. That's so cool! I wonder what things my kids will get involved with when we get back. I know my DD15 wants to pick up some drama and sketching classes, and my DD8 wants to take some sort of Marshal Arts thing. DS12??? Who knows???

It actually wasnt' the runt. One of the other ones- unfortunately a male. Those are so easy to give away. :headache:

I typically have an iron stomach, and can't wait to hork me some Combo Mexican platters and a frosty margharita!!! :woohoo:

Was the scent of trip idea mine or someone elses? I can't even remember anymore, but I do love that idea!

I know when Tink and I stayed at CBR I had a nice Pineapple Coconut spray that I just adored. Actually, I'm still using it at home, and it definitely takes me right back there! :goodvibes

Hmmm.... I was almost 100% positive it was you, TK. Maybe someone else who's done this can pipe up. :confused3 Anyway, you'll have to wait a spell to find out just what I've chosen to "take me right back there". :rolleyes1

I have pregnancy brain. It could very well have been me. :lmao:

I'm excited to find out what your "scent" is. :thumbsup2

Speaking of ninja posting....I had another window opened on the computer and noticed a new email had come in. Hoping it would be info about Cross Country I checked it as soon as I posted my response to you. After all that talk about food and greasy pizza, I find the new email is from Weight Watchers!!! :lmao: For those who know who he is, I guess that is one of those Bill Engvall "here's your sign" moments!!!

DS13 just got up to get ready for CC practice. I still don't know where, so if I don't hear real soon, I guess I will be doing some cross country driving between locations to find out which one he is supposed to be at. He is into about everything you can think of. His first love is soccer, so CC just helps him with his stamina for that. He just finished baseball season, and during the winter he wrestled for his Middle School.

The golf was a promise for the weekend. We had originally planned to take a short trip somewhere over the long holiday weekend, but when that fell through I promised all the DSs we would go play golf. Yesterday was day three, but when the older two had parties, it was just DS13 and I.

And wow, you better have an iron stomach with those plans for food! We actually have a huge contingent of Mexican's in our small area, so there are lots of opportunities for combo platters, margaritas, and . :rotfl2: The local HS does have a really good soccer team every year though! ;)

I really love this scent idea....I've been eyeing those new Dove body scents that just came out, maybe I will get one of those. :thumbsup2

Let's see... at losing 1/2 your brain per child, you are now down to 25% of what you originally had. So sorry, TK...

but... it's a great excuse for letting all kinds of things "slip your mind". Trust me, I do it all the time.

Think plural.

A sign... :lmao: C25K, Dude. If I can do it, ANYONE can! :rotfl2:

You are one busy guy!! I think for a while, we'll try to limit the kids to one outside thing until we get more settled in. They can be real time (and gas)suckers for sure!

Ok, what I really meant to say, was that I simply cannot wait to dig into some Thai curry, Burger King Whopper Jrs., Olive Garden Tosca soup, and some SUSHI!

Oregon is the Mecca of Taco trucks, of which we regularly partake of. YUM!!

How incredibly funny that I'm going from Scents of the Trip to Mexican combo platters! does anyone else see ANY relationship here? :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
