Yes, I was wondering why you were posting so late your time! The insomnia bug got ya?? I can so totally relate! I was up for hours last night! If it wasn't my stomach, it was the puppies whining, or dogs barking, or, or, or, my mind racing from topic to topic!! UGH!!!

We had to start bottle feeding the runt just an hour ago; the mommy was clearly not giving it a chance, so we are giving it canned milk, egg yolk, corn syrup, and water- a recipe I found on the net. Sure hope we can help her!

The Poly stuff is actually from a music group called The Polynesians. They have a lot of stuff on Amazon and I just chose stuff that sounded like it belonged there. But when I'm there, I plan on getting the real MacCoy!!

You're right. And silly me! I had just finished looking at the FIFA website to see where things stood- so 2 games in a row...

Actually, our company is a Dutch-based NGO, so we have TONS of Dutch friends. I'm sure we'll have to congratulate them too, if they win. Hmmmm.... I wonder who we'd cheer for if it comes to Germany vs. Nederlands. ??

For some idiotic reason, both Amazon AND iTunes have blacklisted anyone trying to get music from this country. I guess they figure it will be sold on the illegal market. Whatever.... I just have had my dad download, cut CDs and send them over. But now, it's too late to send packages to us.

OH, I have GOT to tell you something I did, speaking of idiotic!! I can't even BELIEVE how stupid I was!! Remember the whole train ticket fiasco?? and using my maiden name?? Well, that same credit card I used to purchase the tix, was accidently sent with Andrew as an emergency card in case they got stuck somewhere!!!!! I had to pay my mom $100 for her to DHL it back to us! but I look at it this way... If we had to pay the 15 Euro penalty to re-book times, 10 tickets, we've already "saved" by having it sent back. UGH!! What a giant doofus I was!

I think I"m actuallyr registered with EVERY website that streams Disney, but it frustrates me that I can own most of it myself...

Those online tickets are really handy, but that's the thing that makes them difficult: You need the method of identification that you indicated at booking.

Anyway, we have lots of ADRs planned for various resorts, so I'll check it out then.

Good morning!! (well, actually, it's dinner time here ) In fact, pix coming up soon; it's time for another Disney countdown- Tasty Interlude.

I've been on Tikiman's page, and love them!! I didn't know he had the Poly loop, so will go now. I highly doubt I can download it, but it's worth a try! It's a good way to just get familiar with the KIND of music it is too, so I can try to find something comparable that I CAN buy.

No, it's not an infection, but rather nerve damage, I fear. The area at the base of my thumb kills to flex backwards, and the whole hand is very sensitive to sudden touch. I really, REALLY hope in this case, time will heal it!

Time for the weekly

Disney's Tasty Interlude!!

I know I'm excited because today's selection takes us to one of my favorite places that I've tried so far! Mmmmmm, mmmm!! Flame Tree BBQ!!

The pulled pork sandwich is so tangy good, and a fair sized portion at that. To get my porcine appetite whetted well, I cooked me up some BBQ, BUT


unfortunately, pork has been unavailable here lately, soooooooooo...


I went with what I had.

BEEF. Which gets me to thinking... I wonder what the Hebrew and Islamic guests do for gettin' themselves a BBQ fix. I'm thinking they ought to offer a beef option.

Anywhoooo.... here's what the 7 clan will be pigging out on tonight- paired with Mikki's macaroni salad, and fresh off the field honeydew melon, which are just coming into season!! BEST MELONS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!! I digress....

Here's how:

Take a big hunk of meat. We get ours off a hook in the market. Take your pick, you really can't go wrong with anything! I pressure cook the snot out of mine until it's nice and tender! Fork tender, even. Get it all pulled apart, and shredded up, like this:



Then make this sauce:


About 2 cups ketchup

1/2 cup honey, molasses, brown sugar or whatever else you might have in the pantry. I used part honey, part white sugar. (The pickins are slim these days.)

A dash of cayenne (or more, if you like spicy)

1/2 t. salt

1/4 cup vinegar- give or take some, depending on how tart you like it

Plenty of black pepper

some celery seed- easy on this, a little goes a long way

2 cloves garlic

Simmer for a while, adjusting the flavors as needed. Dump it over your meat in a pot and cook it some more.

Serve on any bread of your choice. If you want to get all Disney authentic, put it onto a bun- Kaiser-style, I think. Magdelene just reported on this, she can comment on the bun- hers of which she says was soggy. Lesson learned, make it, and eat it quickly!!!! Here's ours served on fresh bread cooked over a dung fire. Really.

Ooh....I love Flame Tree. We've not been the last two years and I was upset that it is closed the day we will be there (actually that is the last day it is supposed to be closed, it reopens on September 20...and for those wondering it closes on August 9).

The cheater version of this.

1-2 pork loins tossed in a crock pot. 1 cup of salsa, 1 cup of BBQ sauce. on low for 8 hours, high for 4-5.

Also works great with chicken breast. I'll go in about half way through to start breaking up the meat and then back again a little later.

We use Pace Medium chunky style and Sweet Baby Rays.
