D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

If you find that funny, get a load of this hilarious interlude I just experienced.

This deaf couple shows up to buy some of our stuff, and while my eggplant parmesan is getting cold, I proceed to haggle using hand signs like "hot" for the electric heater, "ironing" for the ironing board, etc... All is going well, until we need to write some things down, only to find out that they DON'T know Blankistani!!! Only Russian- which I only know a few phrases of. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

A classic case of 3 strikes, you're out! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I swear, your life is just one comic event after another. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are abundantly aware of His great care all the way there and back. Lots of praise, for sure!

I just need to ask my SILs if they will let me have it. I know one has a really cool Bosch that she uses to grind her wheat with twice a week. The other one doesn't LOVE to cook. I never thought of the dough hook for pie crust.

Not the hook, the paddle. She grinds her own wheat? :scared1:

The puppies are adorable....out of curiousity do you just not believe in getting her fixed? Just curious, it's a lot of litters to constantly deal with!

I LOVE the playlist, what a fun idea! Might have to consider that one....in my spare time.

OK, I guess I need to see a visual on the diff between the hook and the paddle. This is starting to sound like a torture method line up.

We can't get it done here... no one does it. Otherwise, we'd have done it 9 years ago!

Spare time? Do you have some?? I need some ideas, and will PM you at some point ... window decs. now have my stymied since my Halloween went up in smoke.

Was the scent of trip idea mine or someone elses? I can't even remember anymore, but I do love that idea!

I think it was me origianlly back on the LapuLapu thread. I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.

Hi, Liesa!!! I'm horribly behind yet again...but...will try to catch up this afternoon. :) This thread moves so fast that if I was walking would have lost 25 lbs by now!!!

Hope your hand is healing nicely this week. :goodvibes

So sorry to hear about the pup, but like I said on FB, maybe the little one has been spared a hard life. It's difficult for me to read about the way they are treated - of course, adopting so many and working in rescue gives one a very tender heart when it comes to furbabies. ;)

:grouphug:

A day full of meetings and I am way behind...

So sorry about the puppy. :sad1:

His first love is soccer ....... The local HS does have a really good soccer team every year though! ;)

Just since the topic of soccer came up: Did anyone notice that Germany just won against Argentina in the quarter final of the Soccer World Cup? :cool1::cool1::cool1: And with a 4:0 victory!! :cheer2::cheer2:

What an ordeal at the border! And I can't believe that stuff like what happened to your friends with the visa issue still happens today!

LOVE the WDW playlist - need to get some of those for my ipod! I remember some time ago on the DISBoards a poster having the "intro" music for many of the parks, including the castle area, epcot, etc. But I don't remember who it was.....I used to have the pages saved to my favorites on my old computer but can't seem to find them on my new laptop :confused3

Ok, what I really meant to say, was that I simply cannot wait to dig into some Thai curry, Burger King Whopper Jrs., Olive Garden Tosca soup, and some SUSHI!

Ok, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but BK changed the whopper jr a few years back, and it is just blech now. I used to love them and they are just bland and boring now. Either that or it's just the one by my house. I don't bother trying them anywhere else since I have been so disappointed in the ones here.

I did see that - it was a great game! DH is from Mexico, so started off cheering for them, but once they and the US were eliminated, he switched to Germany. Not sure where the new alliance came from since he is not German at all, but I am, so I am ok with it! :thumbsup2

How fun your play list is. Quite large to me. I should come up with something like that for our road trip down to Orlando, though I think my Dh would go batty after an hour. :confused3 Maybe kids and I can wear headphones, I think I've seen a double connect, but not a triple.

Poor little puppies. Hope the rest make it safe to families or wherever it is they go.

Can't wait to see the rest of your play list. :)

Sorry I'm late...it's been a busy, busy weekend (stove/oven fixed -- only $150 :woohoo::woohoo:). Love your playlist of songs...too cool. And the puppies are absolutely adorable. But I can see where it can be a pain when it happens over and over again and then to get bit in the hand. Ouch.

That would make sense, Heidi!! I have been so intrigued by this idea ever since I saw it, and am excited to do some shopping THIS WEEK! Details coming...

It does move fast! Always keeping you on your toes!

Not so much.

Dogs are only property here to protect homes and to prevent theft. More than that, they are just not pets.

HI Magdelene!

We have been following the games too, and have even gotten to watch a few! Congrats to your team!!

It was an ordeal, for sure! But interesting too. Not that I'd ever want to do that again, though...

Ah, too bad you can't find it. I've lost tons of stuff like that too, with accidental deletes. :headache: (from favorites)

I still have ways to go to build it up, and sure am having fun in the process!

Really!!?? That stinks. Guess, I'll gave to find a new cheap, but good, burger option. I like mine flame broiled, not fried!

You should definitely put something together!! Do you have an iPod? If so, you can listen to your heart's content, and not bug your DH- I have to do exactly that.

I may not get to an update today, lots to get done, but for sure tomorrow!

only $150!! THat's awesome news!! I know you had expected to pay more! YAY!!

To build my playlist, I'll be finding some speakers around the World on my trip! ;)

hi , love your playlist . have you been to d-cot.com
http://www.d-cot.com/jukebox
it takes a few minutes to figure out but they have lists by park and resort tons of music on demand. i spend lots of time there

I should really go looking for that!! Sounds VERY fun!

THANKS!!!

Marching onward with my music lineup, today I’ll give you what I’ve gotten for resorts, AK, and DHS. I guess I’m lumping these together because there are so pathetically few. I have a VERY long way to go in building up this collection, and would LOVE your ideas and suggestions for this part of the library.

I have to confess, I really don’t know if these are actually used at the resorts, my goal was to just give a feel for the kind of music you would hear at these places. When I’m there in Sept. my goal is to find a quiet, out of the way speaker and record the real deal.

The Poly-

Aloha Oe- The Polynesians
Hawaiian China Doll- The Polynesians
Bora Bora Drumming- The Polynesians

POR-

Various songs from Beau Soliel (a zydego band)

Caribbean-

Need to gather some steel drum stuff

Coronado Springs-

Need to gather some Latin American tunes!

Fort Wilderness-

My Old Kentucky Home

DHS-

The theme fanfare from Casablanca
The theme fanfare from Life with Father
Theme from Twilight Zone
NEED: theme music from Star Wars (have it, but need to add it to my pod); theme music from Indiana Jones; something from Wizard of Oz

AK- A fairly even mix of African and Asian stuff.

Sunset by Eastman
Lao Suwai Ruhai by Ensemble Mahori Kruang Sai Thai
Caravan by Jai Uttal- perhaps my single favorite cut on my entire pod
Tsy Kivy (Don’t be Discouraged) by Tarika
He Le Luma
Jamaica –steel drum stuff

That's great! :goodvibes I think we will need all the support we can get against Spain tomorrow! :scared1:

That would make sense, Heidi!! I have been so intrigued by this idea ever since I saw it, and am excited to do some shopping THIS WEEK! Details coming...

Shopping!! :cheer2::cheer2: I will be looking forward to that! :thumbsup2

HI Magdelene!

We have been following the games too, and have even gotten to watch a few! Congrats to your team!!

Thanks! Yes, I thought that soccer might be quite popular in Blankistan. The referee for the semi-final tomorrow will be from Uzbbekistan.

Ok, a few suggestions:

DHS:
Singing in the Rain (since there is the umbrella)
Something from Beauty and te Beast (because of the show)

AK:
Mousesavers has a list of the AKL lobby music, a lot of that might go well with AK, too: http://www.mousesavers.com/aklmusic.html
Also: "the lion sleeps tonight"
And I am sure that this is not on any official list, but my favourite African musician is Johnny Clegg and I think his music fits well with the theme. :goodvibes:goodvibes

OK, you have our support!! I think the game will be aired tonight- although, it may be too late for us. We are 3 hours behine SA time- so it would be on like at 10:30 or something.

Yes, shopping- just need to find those free spare minutes to do it.

I hope the reffing is fair tonight!!

Perfect suggestions~!~! But, since I can't get music from here anymore.... I'll have to save those for after I get back. Something to help me reminesce, right?
