CVS Weekly 3/8-3/14

:rotfl: :rotfl2: OMG I'm laughing so hard. And my DD just asked me why! I can't tell her how all the CVS mommies like prescriptions for the gift card!!!

Yeah I hear you............I was very excited that I had to change my beta blocker prescription....as the nurse practitioner was telling me the new information I was calculating how long that new $25 gift card would last!!!! S

Mason seems to think he gets a new Cars character every time we go to Target. :rolleyes1

On another note - post 5,000! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

I had to post it on the CVS thread.

Hey did you come down and wipe my commissary out of .99 Fischer products???????????:rotfl2:

Do you know how often they restock shelves? I have coupons burning a hole in my binder!

Ok, final comparison today:

Giant (grocery store)
$48.10 Total product cost
$18.50 coupons (store doubles up to $1)
$29.60 net cost

So after coupons, bonus card savings, ECB/rebate programs, etc the end result is:

CVS $ 9.29
Walmart $26.48
Target $27.34
Giant $29.60

I think my biggest surprise in this excercise was that the sales prices at Giant actually were better than Walmart/Target. Plus they seem to have sales going a lot more than the discount stores. With coupon doubling and their sales, it actually makes more sense to buy things there unless you absolutely need it right away. If you take the Renuzit Triscents out the equation, the grocery store actually came out way ahead of Target/Walmart. That REALLY surprised me!

Wow. I am such a dork, but it you take the renuzit out of the equation, the results are shocking. The renuzit triscents really varied in price from store to store (and didn't even have it at Walmart) and Boost was on clearance so I didn't include them beow. For those that don't remember, these are the remaining products I bought for the article.

Schick Quattro for Women
3/$10 GM deal (Fiber One bars, Lucky Charms, Total)
Maalox
Herbal Essence Hydralicious Shampoo
Herbal Essence Hydralicious Conditioner
Crest Pro Health
Secret Flawless
Palmolive
Aveeno Shave Gel

CVS- $8.30
Giant- $25.01
Walmart- $25.49
Target- $26.35

Is anyone else as shocked as me about the grocery store beating Target/Walmart?

Nope, wasn't me! What deal is that? I would check back every couple of days - there is no rhyme or reason to their stocking process as far as I can tell.

Puffkin - I went to Giant here last nite and got the BIG bags of Chex Mix with a doubled coupon. That made the price close to what I can get on base so I was happy. Giant does have some good sales from time to time. Safeway on the other hand is SO expensive!

Puffkin, thanks for all your comparisons. I am surprised!

also...I've never seen people so happy that their kids get sick....LOL...gotta love those gift cards! Anybody else having problems keeping track of who you have transferred it to and from, month after month?

You are good girl! Did you ever think of being a professional shopper? I'm not kidding. You can shop for people and get paid to do it. My sister did it many years ago for a very $$$$$ family...They have Rock in thier name:rolleyes1 She made great money running around and finding some pretty crazy things...special brand of pan in only a certain size for the guest house:lovestruc

Puffkin-thanks so much for taking the time to reseach and for posting your results!!! Makes me love :lovestruc CVS even more!

OK. I found a Crest Whitestrips coupon for $5. It says any Crest Whitestrips Premium, Pro-Effects, Daily Whitening multicare, or Daily Whitening plus Tartar Protection (excluding Classic).

Is that the one? It doesn't say anything about Radience??

Maggie

Is it blue? Was it next to a $10 coupon? If so it's the one. It didn't have the exact product on it, but it didn't beep

Next week I get a birth control pill refill!!! Yay! $10 then I get to not have anymore kids AND extra CVS $25!!!!

I grabbed the last four on the shelf today (clearanced to 3.25) and was going to use 4 coupons. BUT my cashier was paying attention and wouldn't let me use more than 2, since the total of the toothpastes was only $13. I asked if she could adjust the last one down, she said no. I asked if she could just scan it anyway to see if they would beep, she said no! :sad2: So I just let it go but now the more I think about it, the more I realize that I didn't want to spend $3 on those things! I think I'm going to return one tomorrow. Also I had thrown in some other stuff to cover the overage and didn't want to look weird by saying, Oh I don't want this stuff either...:rolleyes1 So I ended up losing several ECBs

I actually paid $1.50 for one last week (sister has prom & graduation coming up) and she really likes it, so I was actually going to pay the $1.50 for the other one, but when it ended up being a mm I was thrilled.

I'm going tomorrow to get the cereal deal & do some suave. I printed the coupons for the hidden Alavert deal as well

I thought I found another one but its for Crest not Aquafresh...
but here it is anway..
http://www.whitestrips.com/whitestrips-special-offers/

This is Crest. It's a tube of whitening paste & 4 weekly strips. I think the name is Healthy Radience. Clearednced to $3.25 and the $5 coupon from an insert awhile back doesn't beep for it. That coupon might work if the cashier wasn't looking. I got one last week when it was $6.50, used the $5 coupon. Grabbed another since I got another coupon and it rang up $3.25, coupon didn't beep. I'll print this one out and try with it tomorrow.

Is anyone else as shocked as me about the grocery store beating Target/Walmart?

I would have been surprised a year ago. But I CVS and GIANT every Sunday after church. I match my coupons to Giant sales. I only buy there if I have a coupon and sale...that is what we eat!!! I stockpile so we always have meals. I know that they have great sales!

Does anyone know if the herbal essences is working for all or just the hydralicious?

Thanks, I could not find it in the thread.

I ran into something I found interesting today so I thought I would share it with my fellow CVS'ers. I finally went to WalMart today and grabbed three of the All you magazines that you all have recommended. I knew there was a $4.00 off Glade Sense and Spray and with the Walgreens deal that makes it free so I thought now was a great time to try the magazine. Anyway - when I got home I took out the Glade coupons and noticed that one magazine felt different than the others. Lo and behold in between the second and third pages there is a SASE with this written on it "Offical Reader Survey Enclosed Give Us Your Opinions About All You and we'll give you $10.00!" Yeah!!! The other two do not have this in it. So, if you are going to buy an All You magazine you might want to check the first few pages!

As a side note I know this is not a great price but it is something I really needed - I found a 12 pack of pink washcloths at my CVS today for $4.99. I need lavendar/purple washcloths for a craft project but my store only had pink, blue and green. Has anyone else seen these? Has anyone seen them in purple/lavendar? Particularly anyone in the Chicago area? I would really love to have them!

Also can someone tell me about the hidden Alavert deal I just read about?

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

do you need a special coupon to get the gift card or do you automatically get it with a new Rx??

Mine was a CRT. I think you need a coupon or CRT but some CVS pharmacies will accept all competitors coupons so if you have one from another store, you're in luck if yours will take them from Walgreens, etc.

Does anyone know if the herbal essences is working for all or just the hydralicious?

Thanks, I could not find it in the thread.

Yes, it works for all Herbal Essences.
