Remember visiting CSR once when we weren't staying there and seeing a small alligator in the lake there. Staying there this time in August and really interested in wildlife - animals and birds that we might see when we are there.

Have enjoyed staying at WL in the past because of the animals and birds that we could see - lots of birds over Bay lake and little bunnies in the resort.l

WE saw an alligator in the lagoon, about 3.5 ft long. There were turtles as well. I don't recall seeing anything else there.

We did see rabbits at POFQ and a snake at TL.

I've heard of people seeing wolves, armadillos and rats too.

I've seen little bunnies at CSR. As for rats, it's Florida. There are rats everywhere.

There's a small nature trail near the Ranchos section of the resort. One of the reasons we like to stay back there. Lots of birds to hear.

You don't really have to be at the resort to see wildlife. We see it at the parks all the time (and I don't mean the guests!). We once watched an osprey flying over World showcase for quite a while looking for lunch. He did get it.

I saw my first armadillo and my first wild turkey along World Drive. And I know there are turtles there since my husband held up traffic coming into the Hess gas station so the thing could make his way across the driveway.

And there are those little lizards everywhere at Animal Kingdom. Plus the ibises. See the cranes on top of the roofs at Magic Kingdom, especially in Frontierland. About the only park we haven't seen wildlife is Hollywood Studios.

I have never seen a RAT at any WDW resort. Snakes, lizards, Blue Herons, cranes, Ibis, Squirrels, Frogs, turtles, red finches, Black vultres, eagles, wild cats, no RATS. Thankfully the snakes must eat 'em ;) I love wildlife and watch and search carefully for them round WDW. I would have noticed a RAT. (Seen lots near where I live). I have seen lots of MICE however, Particularly in the park parades :thumbsup2

I've never seen any rats there, but my mom did step on a lizard and squash him. :( We were so sad.:sad2:

There's a lot of lizards, if you look carefully. Especially around the edges of the bushes, underneath.

We have seen at the CSR rabbits, ducks, all kinds of birds, alligator and a snake.

We love feeding the ducks and turtles at CSR. The kids have seen lizards, bunnies, and frogs. Lots of birds, an armadillo, and a deer late one evening (woods across the road from Ranchos.) We never saw the alligator despite spending lots of time searching for it. And NEVER any rats!

just back from CSR-did not see the alligator-lots of squirrels, including a lost baby one that another family insisted on carrying all around, despite my best efforts of telling them to put it down and mother will come for it!
Lizards galore-warm days of sunning themselves
