Ok, what have we got today, anybody to make fun of ,,, besides me? Since I'm not able to fight back very well lately due to the heat in the confuser room.

Hmm, ok,, I am a little bit surprised on two counts here:
One of you are from "Upper You Nork" while the other is from Buffalo, which is "Upper You Nork" too.
Buffalo, is a suburb of Canada, and the other one may be Buffalo as well. This means that your summer lasts from July 18, to July 24, not even a single full week.

YET YOU EACH HAVE YOUR OWN SWIMMING POOLS?
Boy, that almost a week must be filled with some wild and crazy pool parties!!
Can I come next year?

And also,,, all snakes are cold blooded.
This means that there really are not too many indigenous snakes found at the Arctic Circle, so the odds that the only living legless reptillian in your area ending up in your swimming pool are on the remote side, to say the least.

And I don't have to be an ingenuous genius to point out these facts are generous concerning the indigenous genus you would generally find in a genuine generalization book concerning reptiles.

Whew! And please stop me next time.
but do it gently.

When those eggs hatched,,, we were both proud parents,,, it was really cool, well especially for me cuz I was the one that mostly tried to do everything right to incubate them, aside from sitting on the eggs myself. :rotfl2:

Ok I need to go back to this, because I was gone for a day or two. First of all, Buffalo is WESTERN New York, not upper. That's a very touchy subject around these parts! And last time I checked Chicago gets the same type of weather that we do here. And we had such a great winter that some people opened their pools in March! Although my DH refused because the dang filter costs so much on the electric bill. I have yet to see a snake anywhere in our neighborhood, thank goodness. But where my parents live, 20 minutes from here, I used to always see little ones. Ick!

And also, I have a really creepy visual of you sitting on eggs now! How did Ponzi miss that photoshop opportunity?!

Have a great trip with Jackson!

And,, these words you are now reading are an edit, partly to explain the title.

Figured I'd just quote the whole chunk of new part, case anyone missed it. Course now they'll have to suffer along while I comment on it... so be it.

It started out Coronado Springs Eternal, but I just was not fast enough on the draw, and ran out of time before we were heading on back again,,, for the trip Smidgy and I have been waiting FOREVER for:
Actual Fambly members joining us!

Out of a total of 20 trips to Disney that we have taken, the last 18 has been just she and I.
Yeah,,, I like her ok, but C'MON!

True. There's only so many things you can do with just the two of you...

umm...

... let's just forget I said that and move on, kay?

So, I'm turning this into a double barrel trip report, the crux of the first trip is Coronado,, (I always wanted to use that word in a sentance)

That's true. How often do you get to use the word 'Coronado' in everyday life? :rolleyes1:

and the main body of the second trip will be Pop Century, staying with one of our kids, his wife and our grandson.

We leave in two days,, but I'm nowhere near done on the first part, so I guess this is going to drag out until the cows come home,, I mean we come home from this August trip.

Oh, no... Oh, No! Not... !

And no, not gonna post the cow picture again.

Oh, thank heavens. <phew>
smiley-vault-misc-164.gif

So there you have it, going to return your computer back to you now,,, and,,,,
RESUME!

All right! Hi Cool mom, nice to finally have you join us.
Hey Ponzi,,, look, I have a new reader, nya nya nya nya,,, I bet you wish she'd come and post over on your thread.

Oh, alas! Whoa is me, if only there was some thing I could say to alleviate my pain...

Ok,, gonna getto work and screw everything up.

What's getto work? Are you building gettos? Cleaning them? Evicting people to them, or from them?

(and yes, I know it's not spelled that way... but where's the fun in that?)

I won't mention that I found out about this TR from he who shall not be mentioned's TR....:rolleyes1

HA! DENIED!!! Score one for moi! She may wind up liking you better... but she liked me first!
stickingouttonguesmiliegif.gif

He who shall not be mentioned? Oh this is getting good!!:cool2:

You're just having way too much fun here, aren't you? :stir:

Just checking in,
But no update.
Moving on, popcorn:: moving on.

Yeah, you should check out other TRs... oh, don't have any particular ones in mind... :rolleyes1:

Voldemort is doing a TR? I bet he wants to destroy Harry Potter land at Uni!

I'm being compared to Voldemort?

Cool.

B_G,
I didn't want to *ahem* choose sides...

You don't have to chose. C'mon back to where you're loved and respected. You'll get nothing but abuse here.

Trust me, I know.

nebo didn't post a chapter cause:: he was griling up some burgers and hot dogs for the trip!!!!

sound strange??? now, doesn't everyone jsut love the leftovers from a barbeque in the fridge? just reach in and grab a cold cheeseburger ot hot dog to munch on?

Nope. I don't like cold pizza or chinese food either. That's a throwback to before microwaves were invented. :snooty:

But I do love all the above mentioned goodies when they're fresh.

...mmmm, Barbeque... Without (that's without) Googling, where does the word barbeque come from? (Hint: I'm betting Matthew (have we tried that one?) from Ottawa... a bilingual town... knows)

why not on a trip? he put them in ziplock freezer bags, and they will go into the cooler, and from there, into the fridge in the room. hungry Jackson? want to much on a cold cheeseburger? way to go , Papa Nebo!

Even though I'm not a fan... I recognize that others are, so... What a great idea! :thumbsup2

and: more imoprtantly, I am done cleaning for over 2 weeks, done tending bar for over 2 weeks, and I have only ONE waittress shift left, and then I am DONE WORKING for 2 weeks!!! YAY!!:dance3::cool1::banana:

:cool1: Yay to no work for 2 weeks! That's the best part about vacays, isn't it?

I have 4 workdays left before spending my days reading in Best Westerns In Yellowstone. Let the vacations begin! :yay::yay::yay:

Is anybody going to be left to mind the store?

And also, I have a really creepy visual of you sitting on eggs now! How did Ponzi miss that photoshop opportunity?!

Because I'm just too darned busy!! Plus putting nebo's head on a snake or sitting in a nest of snakes would probably creep people out even more than spike or suntan nebo.

I have 4 workdays left before spending my days reading in Best Westerns In Yellowstone. Let the vacations begin! :yay::yay::yay:

You never struck me as the type, so, I Zane Greay one of your faves?
I'm trying to picture what Germany "westerns" would look like. Did they have shootouts with Lugers and Schmeisers, or Shmauzers' or Schnauzers or whatever they were called?
"Ok, you start at this end of the moat and I'll start by the drawbridge, when we reach the VW Beetle, we draw!"

You be safe too, Marita have fun visiting your son.

Oh please, please don't give him any ideas.

Have a great trip with Jackson!

Thankd you so much,, we are both so excited, I even think Jackson may be too.

True. There's only so many things you can do with just the two of you...

umm...

... let's just forget I said that and move on, kay?

Yes, especially when she is unbeatable in Yachtzee.

What's getto work? Are you building gettos? Cleaning them? Evicting people to them, or from them?

(and yes, I know it's not spelled that way... but where's the fun in that?)

One of the greatest Kentucky Derby races of all time, 1982, Gato Del Sol came from last,,, (18th) place to pass the entire field after well more than the half way mark. I saw a replay of the race where a camera was ONLY on him, and it was just breathtaking to watch him just keep passing horses,,, one at a time, one at a time.

HA! DENIED!!! Score one for moi! She may wind up liking you better... but she liked me first!
stickingouttonguesmiliegif.gif

Ok, ok, we'll share.

You're just having way too much fun here, aren't you? :stir:

I don't even have to go back to see,,, I know you are talking about Marita,,, she loves to cause schist,,,,,,
and I don't mean Mica.

Yeah, you should check out other TRs... oh, don't have any particular ones in mind... :rolleyes1:

Marissa,, how come you still don'lt have a ticker yet? You need to take the bull by the horns!
Or the Husband by the b........., buttons, well, you get the idea.

I'm being compared to Voldemort?

Cool.

Somehow Ponzi Riddle just doesn't cut it.

You don't have to chose. C'mon back to where you're loved and respected. You'll get nothing but abuse here.

Trust me, I know.

As we all learned from sixth grade, teasing and abuse are all signs of infection. So take it thusly.

Affection.

geesh

Nope. I don't like cold pizza or chinese food either. That's a throwback to before microwaves were invented. :snooty:

Cheeseburgers without buns,,, same with hot dogs,, Pizza,,, all good cold the next morn right out of the fridge..No,, I can't imagine eating Pork Egg Foo Young cold,,,,, YECHH.

But I do love all the above mentioned goodies when they're fresh.

By the way,,, not far from home is a bike trail that goes right along the Fox River, and at a certain spot on the bike path that crosses a street where a factory is,,, most of the time when the weather is nice, a guy sets up a hotdog stand in next to the path. This is towed along behind his car every morning when he decided to make some money that day.

It's not a "get inside" trailer,, more of a cart, but too big to push yourself. He sells dogs, brats, Polish and Italian Sausage, and has over 40 types of mustard. And I think he has only ONE type of Ketchup, real hot dog lovers knkow Catsup does not go on a hot dog in Chicago.

Reason I am boring you with all this,, is that he told me that these types of Hot Dog carts are made on only one place in the world.

Winnipeg.

Ever seen what I'm talking about?

Because I'm just too darned busy!! Plus putting nebo's head on a snake or sitting in a nest of snakes would probably creep people out even more than spike or suntan nebo.

Attaboy!

Safe and happy trails to the Nebo Family clan! Come back with lots of good (i.e. happy) stories :hippie:

You never struck me as the type, so, I Zane Greay one of your faves?

:lmao:

I'm trying to picture what Germany "westerns" would look like. Did they have shootouts with Lugers and Schmeisers, or Shmauzers' or Schnauzers or whatever they were called?
"Ok, you start at this end of the moat and I'll start by the drawbridge, when we reach the VW Beetle, we draw!"

Back around '72, my Aunt, Uncle and two cousins (both about my age) came from Germany for a visit. First time. I don't recall where we were, but there were some tee pees set up and some native folk dressed up in traditional garb. Boy were the relaticks ever excited to see 'real' indians!

That's cool. I'm going to see if I can find that on youtube...

http://www.kentuckyderby.com/history/year/1982

Best I found. Not as good as what you describe.

As we all learned from sixth grade, teasing and abuse are all signs of infection. So take it thusly.

Affection.

geesh

Don't fall for it! He's just trying to lure you in!

...Reason I am boring you with all this,, is that he told me that these types of Hot Dog carts are made on only one place in the world.

Winnipeg.

Ever seen what I'm talking about?

Oh, sure. See 'em all the time. But I had no idea they were made here.

Go figure.

You and Smidgy have a great time while you're reliving Disney through the eyes of Jackson.
Have a great trip, and travel safe! :goodvibes

For right now, we are going to leave us trying to find a bathroom as we enjoy walking around the casitas that Tuesday night, and just babble a bit on the upcoming trip.

I just got a crappy phone call, from Buzz's hubby of all people.
They are not going to be able to make their trip, so our meeting on the Poly beach, of course is off. It sounds like there was something important that came up at his work and it's just not possible to keept he trip now. I really feel just terrible because not only from here on the boards, I talked to her in person and you could tell just how excited she was for this trip, especially since she now has a baby coming in November. Well, hopefully, our meeting is just being delayed, gives me something to look forward to on other trips now.

Crap,, there goes a whole chapter on the next trip report.
And even if it turned out boring, I was well prepared to make someting up. I'm sorry Dee Dee, ,hope you can get back soon.

Back to us:

Foist of all,, yes, we are definately driving down again, we really want to have our stuff with us, along with a car,, which also gave us the reason to add a few more days to the trip.

That's right, even though the main part is a 7 night stay at Pop with our son, his wife and of course, Jackson, I'm not the spring chicken I used to be,,, now I'm just chicken, and I don't want to got through the drive for just a 7 night stay, only to have to turn around and do it in reverse.

(it's hard on the neck)

so we rented points and ended up back at Jambo House for 3 nights again, right before we meet with Todd and crew at Pop.

It will be nice to be back at AKL without all the baggage we had on our minds the last time we were there last September,, I'[m sure most of you know what I mean.

This time will definately be different though:
We check in there on Wednsday,, and for the first time we are going to try to Lewow Thursday.
I talked to Buzz a couple nights ago,, and she plans on meeting us at the Poly beach after the Loo-ow and watch teh fireworks and water pageant from there, this should be fun.
I'm hopeing to actually understand anything at all that she has to say since when we talked the other night she mainly just giggled the whole time. :lmao:
Dee Dee, I'm just teasin' , but really, she was fun to talk to!

( as you can see, I started this chapter the other night, and coming across this again, I decided to just leave it in, didn't seem right to take the Delete key to Dee Dee. And
let's face it, backspacing is just a PG version of using the delete key.

Let's see,,, we are also trying a new, brand new route for us. Well, Ok, one section of it is new.

That's right, my eyes aren't what they used to be, which was crappy to begin with, so I'm learning to adjust. For those interested,
this time we are taking the what has become usual lately route through southern Illinois, into Nashville,, then,,

we are switching to 65 and staying on that to Birmingham.
In BH, Abalama, we transfer to I think, Interstate 20, which will run almost due east into Georgia, and right to rt. 27 in that wonderfull little town, Carrolton.

Remember that town?

That's where we pulled over at a minimart because even Smidgy couldn't see the road anymore due to tropical storm Lee, only to find out that a tornado was bearing down on us as the sirens went off, and the local news reprt from a station that was two miles away from us said it was spotted and heading right toward us.

Really, it wasn't far from this:

"This fresh from our new desk: A tornado has been spotted moving south along route 27 two miles north of Carrolton itself, so we advise everyone to take to basements or shelters and keep your radios on, currently it appears to he heading directly towards that lone Maroon Santa Fe parked on the side of the quick mart on rt. 27.

I got out and made sure: Yep, we are definately the only Maroon Santa Fe out here.
Ok, would you believe that we are the only Santa Fe out here?
Would you believe that we are the ONLY CAR out here?

But I was very pleased hearing this telecast:
WHy?

He didn't call it "RED".

No, don't worry, we did the sensible thing.

When the sky turned pitch Green and Yellow, and the rain suddenly stopped,,, we outran it!

I know, I know, you are not supposed to try and outrun a tomato, but the store was all glass fronts and sides, and there was no traffic and the rain had mostly stoppef for a while,,, seemed like the right thing to do.

Hey, it worked for Bill and Helen.

Usually.

I loved it when Jamie Gurtz said,, " I can't talk now,,,,
We have cows!"

Then, in Carrolton, we switch to rt. 16, go through Reelmom's territory, Newnan and take ti right back to interstate 75! 10 miles south or so of Atlanta.

We actually met another Disser that lives in Newnan, Disneydad 99, whom we spent a lot of time with back on the big Disser trip in '97, but I can't seem to get him to return a call anymore.

But right now, after looking and looking at the maps,, when it comes to avoiding Atlanta,, one word comes to mind on this new "Atlanta avoidance endeavor"
Brilliant!

What i hate the most about having to go through Atlanta is that when we get within 40 miles or so of it, Smidgy starts whimpering, and doesn't stop until Macon.

What we don't kknow for sure is when we are leaving, could be Monday, could be Sunday, all depends on weather reports. That's right,,, I've had enough of driving through storms if I don't have to.
SInce she has Sunday off anyway, the only bad thing is adding in one more night at a cheapo motel.

But we are both really excited about finally getting to share a trip with family members. Would you believe we have taken the last 18 trips to Disney by ourselves?

And not just for Jackson, I'm lookking forward to seeing my son's reaction to Disney again. There's a lot he just doesn't remember, heck, they grew a new park since he was there. And a new water park. He really wants to see Typhoon Lagoon again,, hut he's never seen Blizzard Beach, so since they have the extra and more ooption,,, 7 days worth,,, we are going to try to hit both water parks on the same day, Diane and i still have 8 remaining "extra's " from that no expiration deal we made couple years ago.

Now Todd says he wan't to eat at the place where the waitress kept yelling at him,,, Prime Time, so that's part of our table service meal enjoyments,,, along with T-Rex,, Tusker House, and Hollywood and Vine that we are sitting out,,I'mnot big on the chacacfter meals.

Allrighty now, what else?

Oh,,, talked to the always lovely and talented Monica the other night too. We usually leave at the crack of dawn on check out day, but not always. Instead, we weill say goodbye to the fambly and probably head on over to AK for a bit in the morning and meet op with the Monymony hoodlums, no,, this has never happened in person before,,, should be,,, um,,, interesting!
I mean FUN. Yeah, That's it FUN FUN FUN.
No, seriously, I 'm looking forward to meeting her, and also her husband, I have all the respect in the world for him concerning what he's gone through beating cancer.

Sounds good so far, doesn't it?
I'm curious to see how Jackson handles Disney though after a couple of days:
I am not crazy about going this time of year,, especially since I really want him to gtet to experience Wishes and Illuminations, but I don't think Wishes starts before 11 the whole time we're there, for a six year old,,, that's late.

Heck,, that's late ofr this 57 year old!

But, as usual, there is always some bad to take with the good, '94 was a long time ago, which was son Todd's last time there.

Here's just a short list of what he can stop looking forward to seeing again:j

Pleasure Island, mainly Comedy Shop and the Adventurers' Club,,, he really like both of those.

Skyway to Tomorrowland
Dreamflight, heck, I still would rather have that back than Buzz Lightyear
The better Tiki Birds,, which he never got to see either
The better Imagination
Spectromagic
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride,,, still better than Pooh.

Honey I Shrunk the Audience, he SAW Captain EIEIO
Food Rocks
River Country! Anybody remember that?
Superstar Television
Here's one I bet nobody remembers, Magic Journeys!

Mission to Mars, GACK
Spaceship Earth with REAL narrators like Jeremy Irons
I mean Walter Chronkite , Sorry,, not a Judy Dench fan
Body Wars
Cranium Command
Image Works
The Wonders Of Life hands on playground
Remember when the Odyssey sold food?

That's mainly it,,, these were pretty much all here on his last visit to Disney.

And of course,,, one more thing,,, the big one that I've been telling him about for the last ten years,,, that of course, "OF COURSE" , they chose now to refurbish,,,

TEST TRACK!

I have not doubt that it would have been his favorite, since as he has gotten older,, he is much less a roller coaster fan.

As they say, it figures

So boys and girls, I guess this is it for now, boy when we get back, gonna have a lot to write about,,, and hopefully it will get done in a more timely manner since most of the major hot and Nebo killing days are mostly gone for the summer.

Be safe all, feel badly for Buzz cuz I sure do, and Monica, drive safe, and DON'T TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE IF YOU ARE THE ONE DRIVING!

hugs,, Smidgy and the Neeb

I gotta say, I'm sad you're not coming thru Indy on your trip down... they put up new traffic signs all the way around 465, and like 1 or 2 on 65 in the Metro area that gives you the time till the next interstate... it says "8 miles until 65 South- __ minutes until 65".
That... and it would have been and awesome Dismeet! Just sayin!

OK, I was going to try to think of a clever remark about the "fay" hand signal, etc etc, .. but I just couldn'tstand looking at it again..

ponzi you really don't want nebo to ever get lucky again, do you?:rotfl:
They have the origional poster up at the pool ad Disney;s Paradise pier Hotel and also have one In DCA/ Think of this post every time.. Laugh and just tell the fam it's a DIS board thing.

Nebo and Smidgy, safe travels! Can't wait to see you in real life!

Tim is scheduled to do the first part of the driving, so no worries! We leave Aug 4/5 at midnight. We will hit Lexy's part of town around 6am.

My phone is always on.

Buzz I too am sorry for your cancelled trip. I'm sure you will have another one to look forward to.

TTFN!

Safe travels What ever shall we do without the Many Adventures of Nebo and Smidgy for two weeks?
That would be great if you got to book at the Grand Cal. I have pics of the studio if you would like to see them. also hav pics of the rooms at Paradise Pier.
The DVC units are beautiful at the Grand Californian/ The also have a great tour of the place for guests of any DL hotel/ They talk about some great details and we even got to see the a couple of the suites.he attention to detail is amazing/
have a great time with your family and enjoy seeing WDW through the eyes of a child again.
wat out for those urban assault strollers!
