For right now, we are going to leave us trying to find a bathroom as we enjoy walking around the casitas that Tuesday night, and just babble a bit on the upcoming trip.
I just got a crappy phone call, from Buzz's hubby of all people.
They are not going to be able to make their trip, so our meeting on the Poly beach, of course is off. It sounds like there was something important that came up at his work and it's just not possible to keept he trip now. I really feel just terrible because not only from here on the boards, I talked to her in person and you could tell just how excited she was for this trip, especially since she now has a baby coming in November. Well, hopefully, our meeting is just being delayed, gives me something to look forward to on other trips now.
Crap,, there goes a whole chapter on the next trip report.
And even if it turned out boring, I was well prepared to make someting up. I'm sorry Dee Dee, ,hope you can get back soon.
Back to us:
Foist of all,, yes, we are definately driving down again, we really want to have our stuff with us, along with a car,, which also gave us the reason to add a few more days to the trip.
That's right, even though the main part is a 7 night stay at Pop with our son, his wife and of course, Jackson, I'm not the spring chicken I used to be,,, now I'm just chicken, and I don't want to got through the drive for just a 7 night stay, only to have to turn around and do it in reverse.
(it's hard on the neck)
so we rented points and ended up back at Jambo House for 3 nights again, right before we meet with Todd and crew at Pop.
It will be nice to be back at AKL without all the baggage we had on our minds the last time we were there last September,, I'[m sure most of you know what I mean.
This time will definately be different though:
We check in there on Wednsday,, and for the first time we are going to try to Lewow Thursday.
I talked to Buzz a couple nights ago,, and she plans on meeting us at the Poly beach after the Loo-ow and watch teh fireworks and water pageant from there, this should be fun.
I'm hopeing to actually understand anything at all that she has to say since when we talked the other night she mainly just giggled the whole time.

Dee Dee, I'm just teasin' , but really, she was fun to talk to!
( as you can see, I started this chapter the other night, and coming across this again, I decided to just leave it in, didn't seem right to take the Delete key to Dee Dee. And
let's face it, backspacing is just a PG version of using the delete key.
Let's see,,, we are also trying a new, brand new route for us. Well, Ok, one section of it is new.
That's right, my eyes aren't what they used to be, which was crappy to begin with, so I'm learning to adjust. For those interested,
this time we are taking the what has become usual lately route through southern Illinois, into Nashville,, then,,
we are switching to 65 and staying on that to Birmingham.
In BH, Abalama, we transfer to I think, Interstate 20, which will run almost due east into Georgia, and right to rt. 27 in that wonderfull little town, Carrolton.
Remember that town?
That's where we pulled over at a minimart because even Smidgy couldn't see the road anymore due to tropical storm Lee, only to find out that a tornado was bearing down on us as the sirens went off, and the local news reprt from a station that was two miles away from us said it was spotted and heading right toward us.
Really, it wasn't far from this:
"This fresh from our new desk: A tornado has been spotted moving south along route 27 two miles north of Carrolton itself, so we advise everyone to take to basements or shelters and keep your radios on, currently it appears to he heading directly towards that lone Maroon Santa Fe parked on the side of the quick mart on rt. 27.
I got out and made sure: Yep, we are definately the only Maroon Santa Fe out here.
Ok, would you believe that we are the only Santa Fe out here?
Would you believe that we are the ONLY CAR out here?
But I was very pleased hearing this telecast:
WHy?
He didn't call it "RED".
No, don't worry, we did the sensible thing.
When the sky turned pitch Green and Yellow, and the rain suddenly stopped,,, we outran it!
I know, I know, you are not supposed to try and outrun a tomato, but the store was all glass fronts and sides, and there was no traffic and the rain had mostly stoppef for a while,,, seemed like the right thing to do.
Hey, it worked for Bill and Helen.
Usually.
I loved it when Jamie Gurtz said,, " I can't talk now,,,,
We have cows!"
Then, in Carrolton, we switch to rt. 16, go through Reelmom's territory, Newnan and take ti right back to interstate 75! 10 miles south or so of Atlanta.
We actually met another Disser that lives in Newnan, Disneydad 99, whom we spent a lot of time with back on the big Disser trip in '97, but I can't seem to get him to return a call anymore.
But right now, after looking and looking at the maps,, when it comes to avoiding Atlanta,, one word comes to mind on this new "Atlanta avoidance endeavor"
Brilliant!
What i hate the most about having to go through Atlanta is that when we get within 40 miles or so of it, Smidgy starts whimpering, and doesn't stop until Macon.
What we don't kknow for sure is when we are leaving, could be Monday, could be Sunday, all depends on weather reports. That's right,,, I've had enough of driving through storms if I don't have to.
SInce she has Sunday off anyway, the only bad thing is adding in one more night at a cheapo motel.
But we are both really excited about finally getting to share a trip with family members. Would you believe we have taken the last 18 trips to Disney by ourselves?
And not just for Jackson, I'm lookking forward to seeing my son's reaction to Disney again. There's a lot he just doesn't remember, heck, they grew a new park since he was there. And a new water park. He really wants to see Typhoon Lagoon again,, hut he's never seen Blizzard Beach, so since they have the extra and more ooption,,, 7 days worth,,, we are going to try to hit both water parks on the same day, Diane and i still have 8 remaining "extra's " from that no expiration deal we made couple years ago.
Now Todd says he wan't to eat at the place where the waitress kept yelling at him,,, Prime Time, so that's part of our table service meal enjoyments,,, along with T-Rex,, Tusker House, and Hollywood and Vine that we are sitting out,,I'mnot big on the chacacfter meals.
Allrighty now, what else?
Oh,,, talked to the always lovely and talented Monica the other night too. We usually leave at the crack of dawn on check out day, but not always. Instead, we weill say goodbye to the fambly and probably head on over to AK for a bit in the morning and meet op with the Monymony hoodlums, no,, this has never happened in person before,,, should be,,, um,,, interesting!
I mean FUN. Yeah, That's it FUN FUN FUN.
No, seriously, I 'm looking forward to meeting her, and also her husband, I have all the respect in the world for him concerning what he's gone through beating cancer.
Sounds good so far, doesn't it?
I'm curious to see how Jackson handles Disney though after a couple of days:
I am not crazy about going this time of year,, especially since I really want him to gtet to experience Wishes and Illuminations, but I don't think Wishes starts before 11 the whole time we're there, for a six year old,,, that's late.
Heck,, that's late ofr this 57 year old!
But, as usual, there is always some bad to take with the good, '94 was a long time ago, which was son Todd's last time there.
Here's just a short list of what he can stop looking forward to seeing again:j
Pleasure Island, mainly Comedy Shop and the Adventurers' Club,,, he really like both of those.
Skyway to Tomorrowland
Dreamflight, heck, I still would rather have that back than Buzz Lightyear
The better Tiki Birds,, which he never got to see either
The better Imagination
Spectromagic
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride,,, still better than Pooh.
Honey I Shrunk the Audience, he SAW Captain EIEIO
Food Rocks
River Country! Anybody remember that?
Superstar Television
Here's one I bet nobody remembers, Magic Journeys!
Mission to Mars, GACK
Spaceship Earth with REAL narrators like Jeremy Irons
I mean Walter Chronkite , Sorry,, not a Judy Dench fan
Body Wars
Cranium Command
Image Works
The Wonders Of Life hands on playground
Remember when the Odyssey sold food?
That's mainly it,,, these were pretty much all here on his last visit to Disney.
And of course,,, one more thing,,, the big one that I've been telling him about for the last ten years,,, that of course, "OF COURSE" , they chose now to refurbish,,,
TEST TRACK!
I have not doubt that it would have been his favorite, since as he has gotten older,, he is much less a roller coaster fan.
As they say, it figures
So boys and girls, I guess this is it for now, boy when we get back, gonna have a lot to write about,,, and hopefully it will get done in a more timely manner since most of the major hot and Nebo killing days are mostly gone for the summer.
Be safe all, feel badly for Buzz cuz I sure do, and Monica, drive safe, and DON'T TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE IF YOU ARE THE ONE DRIVING!
hugs,, Smidgy and the Neeb
