I just got a crappy phone call, from Buzz's hubby of all people.
They are not going to be able to make their trip, so our meeting on the Poly beach, of course is off. It sounds like there was something important that came up at his work and it's just not possible to keept he trip now. I really feel just terrible because not only from here on the boards, I talked to her in person and you could tell just how excited she was for this trip, especially since she now has a baby coming in November. Well, hopefully, our meeting is just being delayed, gives me something to look forward to on other trips now.
Aw, that bites! Sorry your meet couldn't work out.
I felt crappy too, when we couldn't make our meet with y'all in May. We got back from our cruise on Thurs, and by Fri I was coughing so badly I had to pass on the chance to enjoy the ELO-ish concert in your company. And cell phone reception was so awful at the condo we were staying at, that I missed your calls and couldn't get any outgoing for nuthin'! Of course, it's probably best I didn't infect you with what turned out to be WALKING PNEUMONIA!!
Foist of all,, yes, we are definately driving down again, we really want to have our stuff with us, along with a car,, which also gave us the reason to add a few more days to the trip.
That's never a bad thing!
Let's see,,, we are also trying a new, brand new route for us. Well, Ok, one section of it is new.
That's right, my eyes aren't what they used to be, which was crappy to begin with, so I'm learning to adjust. For those interested,
this time we are taking the what has become usual lately route through southern Illinois, into Nashville,, then,,
we are switching to 65 and staying on that to Birmingham.
I've been waving toward I-65 today and yesterday. It passes just a few miles from Hsv where I am. Didja see me?
In BH, Abalama, we transfer to I think, Interstate 20, which will run almost due east into Georgia, and right to rt. 27 in that wonderfull little town, Carrolton.
Remember that town?
REALLY hope it's better weather for the drive this time!!!
Hey, it worked for Bill and Helen.
Twister!
But right now, after looking and looking at the maps,, when it comes to avoiding Atlanta,, one word comes to mind on this new "Atlanta avoidance endeavor"
Brilliant!
What i hate the most about having to go through Atlanta is that when we get within 40 miles or so of it, Smidgy starts whimpering, and doesn't stop until Macon.
Good move, no whimpering now!
And not just for Jackson, I'm lookking forward to seeing my son's reaction to Disney again.
Good times for the whole family!!
Allrighty now, what else?
Oh,,, talked to the always lovely and talented Monica the other night too. We usually leave at the crack of dawn on check out day, but not always. Instead, we weill say goodbye to the fambly and probably head on over to AK for a bit in the morning and meet op with the Monymony hoodlums, no,, this has never happened in person before,,, should be,,, um,,, interesting!
I mean FUN. Yeah, That's it FUN FUN FUN.
No, seriously, I 'm looking forward to meeting her, and also her husband, I have all the respect in the world for him concerning what he's gone through beating cancer.
Wishing Pixie Dust on this meet!!
Be safe all, feel badly for Buzz cuz I sure do, and Monica, drive safe, and DON'T TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE IF YOU ARE THE ONE DRIVING!
hugs,, Smidgy and the Neeb
