Aww thanks Jill! It has been a big bummer for sure, but seriously things are moving rapidly on the parent front. My parents have agreed to come with us in February! Woo-hoo!!! They may not be able to stay for the entire week, but we will take what we can get!!

Last year when we went to Montana, DD (27) was devasted that she did not see any bears. I think it's better that way....

Well, not sure how many sites I will see, I will most likely be stuck in the hotel for the most part.

Today DS suggested going out tubing. No, not in a water park, in the Missouri River!

PS: little Laramore? It's a boy? Or did I miss this announcement earlier? Either way, YAY, it's a baby! (as opposed to a water moccasin in the Missouri River, shudder!) Although I assume Water Moccasin moms are quite fond of their offspring too.

Swim or float unafraid of snakes or others nasty critters in the Missouri. There are water snakes but they are not poisonous and won't bother you. Water moccasins are not that far north, or at that altitude or something... In other words they're not in Montana. That water will be colder than you're used to, though. Get out of the hotel room and just do it!
By the way, no Best Westerns in Yellowstone. There are some in West Yellowstone and in Gardner, though.

Well, hopefully, our meeting is just being delayed, gives me something to look forward to on other trips now.

Foist of all,, yes, we are definately driving down again, we really want to have our stuff with us, along with a car,, which also gave us the reason to add a few more days to the trip.

And I'm sure... sure that spending time on the aluminum tube of death had nothing to do with it.

Took me a second... First I had to think of everyone on the Dis that I might know.

Then, as you say, the nickle dropped.

What i hate the most about having to go through Atlanta is that when we get within 40 miles or so of it, Smidgy starts whimpering, and doesn't stop until Macon.

When I was young and dumb. A buddy and I drove non-stop from Winnipeg to Kissimmee. We took turns driving while the other slept in the back seat. I had been up for 30 hours or so and had finally passed out when I hear this voice, "Wake up! Which way do I go?"

AAA had mapped out the route for us, but he was unable or unwilling to take his eyes off the road to check.

I had no idea where we were. "Where are we?"
"Coming up on Atlanta. Hurry up! I have to pick an exit right away!"

I start flipping through the maps and find the section for Atlanta, just as he says, "I can't wait anymore... we always go south and east so that's the way I'm going."

It probably only added about 3 hours to our trip.

But we are both really excited about finally getting to share a trip with family members. Would you believe we have taken the last 18 trips to Disney by ourselves?

I find that hard to believe.
"Would you believe half a dozen?"
I don't think so.
"How about a trip to the zoo and a movie?"

I'mnot big on the chacacfter meals.

Ditto. I want to relax and eat. Not have to jump up every 20 seconds to give someone in a plush toy suit a hug.

I am not crazy about going this time of year,, especially since I really want him to gtet to experience Wishes and Illuminations, but I don't think Wishes starts before 11 the whole time we're there, for a six year old,,, that's late.

Already mentioned... but (and yes I know this is too late for advice) I think he'll do just fine.

I am determined to meet Nebo and Smidgy at some point. I might not have the ability to persaude them to a winter meet up as it might be too cold for pool time, but maybe in the Spring. As we all agree, they are pretty special people. Yeah Nebo, go ahead and gack if you need to, sometimes, mush needs to be expressed!

And yeah, Nebo's right, I do laugh ALOT. He hung in there though on the phone, even with my "heavy" southern accent, compared to his nonexistent northern one!

Of course, it's probably best I didn't infect you with what turned out to be WALKING PNEUMONIA!!

Let's see,,, we are also trying a new, brand new route for us. Well, Ok, one section of it is new.

That's right, my eyes aren't what they used to be, which was crappy to begin with, so I'm learning to adjust. For those interested,
this time we are taking the what has become usual lately route through southern Illinois, into Nashville,, then,,

we are switching to 65 and staying on that to Birmingham.

I've been waving toward I-65 today and yesterday. It passes just a few miles from Hsv where I am. Didja see me?

In BH, Abalama, we transfer to I think, Interstate 20, which will run almost due east into Georgia, and right to rt. 27 in that wonderfull little town, Carrolton.

Remember that town?
