This is our first time visiting WDW during the month of January. Can anyone share their thoughts on the crowds and weather? Thanks for the help!

We've been there 4 times in mid-January and each time has had minimal crowds (last year we were the only ones in sight at MGM). The weather has been cool (60-70) with some of the nights down right cold. We've had 1-2 "pool" days each trip though. To give you a better feel...last year we wore sweatshirts and shorts during the day but the year before we had to wear pants the majority of the trip. No matter what the weather is like, you're sure to have fun!

Most of January has been dead when we've gone, except for Martin Luther King 3 day weekend. We decided not to ever go again on that weekend. We pull in this time Jan 21 to avoid the crowds.
Weather is so hard to tell...it's been OK to freezing..we've been very glad we were from the north and had down coats. Other times the grands have gone swimming..of course the pool steamed while they were in there, and I wouldn't have gone..but they still enjoyed it.
Two Jan in a row, the flowers had to be covered becasue fo an expected frost....last year it was rainy, but not too terribly cold.

Like its been said you should have pretty minimal crowds most of January. There might be some heavier crowds on MLK B-day the weekend of the 20th but that will only be the weekend. As for weather, it has been really strange this year. We've had lows down to 38 with highs upto 75. It is always real hard to predict what will be happening Jan. is normally one of the coldest months here in FL.

we go to Orlando every January...except 2 yrs ago when we took in the xmas scene in Dec. That year we were in shorts and t-shirs the first 3 days and as many layers as we brought with us the last 3 days. There was such a bad freeze that EVERY flower in Disney World was dead. We watched the very efficient "gardeners" pullup about 5 million dollers of flowers over the next couple days.
Be prepared for an kind of weather...but don't worry about the crowds. Although it gets busier on MLK WKND (and usually the next weekend is the NASCAR event at the Disney Racetrack which brings in traffic and alittle extra traffic...its not even close to what all those poor unfortnate sould who go during any other time of the year. Have fun.
