Crowds after Thanksgiving

We usually go every year in August but plan to go this year the week following Thanksgiving. How are the crowds that week? Are the Christmas decorations up yet? We are going later in the year to finally see the decorations and go to MVMCP. We plan to stay at All Star Music in a family suite and stay for seven nights.

Yes, all the decorations are up.

Crowds will be moderate. They used to be very light but word got out and now it is an average to sometimes above average crowd, especially later in the week because of the Christmas Parade taping and the start of Pop Warner competitions.

We originally planned to go the 1st week in December but are moving it one week up to try and avoid the pop Warner group at AS Music.

If we are there during the parade taping is that something to try and see or better to avoid?

I used to be a summer visitor as well, and I will never do it again. This year we were there from the Sat. after Thanksgiving through Dec. 7th. About 10 1/2 days. This is the only time I will ever visit from now on!

It was amazing. We stayed at POR and for most of the trip it was under 40% occupancy. We never waited more than 10 min. for a ride or attraction at any of the parks (except for TSMM, which was only 40 min.). The Pop Warner folks were always very respectful, when we actually encountered them, which was rare.

The only thing that affected our plan was the Xmas parade taping, and we just avoided MK that day. And IMHO, MVMCP was spectacular!!
