I am wondering what CC people have and why they use them. I have a Gap card because they give you a $10 coupon for every $250 you spend. A couple times a year they offer double points, I find that I will use this card to buy my kids clothes and it works out pretty well for me. I also have a Kohl's card because they have special sales for CC holders. Last times I got 25% off of my purchases and I just got another coupon for 20% off. I also have a JC Penney CC because they send you $10 off coupons every so often and $15 off coupons for your birthday.

I only have CC that do something for me and I was wondering what other people have. I was thinking about getting a Hilton Honors CC. Does anyone have this and does it work out for them. I wish that they still had the MyPoints CC but I have missed out on that one. I pay off my balances every month. I hate to carry a balance on my credit cards so I will only buy what I know I can pay off every month.

I use (in order of preferrence)

1. Hilton Visa - I almost have enough points to get a 4 day park hopper. Plus if you update your account twice a quarter you get another 2000 points a quarter. And I transfer any American Airlines miles to this. 2 points per dollar spent.

2. Discover - for the cash back

3. American Express Delta Skymiles - for airline miles (DH uses this mostly for business expenses).

4. LL Bean Visa - I only use this when I order from them for the free shipping.

We have a Target Visa, which we only use at Target because they give 1% of your charge balance to the school of your choice.

Then, we have an MBNA Platinum Plus MasterCard, which gives points/miles for every dollar you charge. We've begun to use this for gas, groceries and nearly everything else, instead of writing checks because we pay it off every month and we can earn points toward airline tickets.

A hint with this type of plan--we have several hundred dollars auto-deposited from my paycheck into savings to make sure the money is there when the bill comes due:) Otherwise, we might get all excited that our checking balance was so high and go spend it:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
