It appears that it is going to be a gift card kind of Christmas amongst my DH's side of the family. Both his parents and his youngest sister are house hunting and have asked for gift cards to places like Bed, Bath & Beyond, HHGregg, etc. So, I need creative ways to give gift cards or under my tree is going to look pitiful. I've used gift bags in the past, but I was looking for something a bit more creative than that.

Any ideas?

dont know how much you are spending on each with the gift cards, but is there some place around you that will put names on glass's? You could get each person one with their name on it and then put them in a big box with the gift card. Or you could do someother kind of gaget that you think they may need for the new house!

Does the family take jokes kina well??? If so go and buy them a plunger and put it in a big box some what so it dont shake and then put the gift card in a smaller box to go in the box with the plunger! Hey it is something they will need for their new place!

Maybe see what they are going to do the kitchen in...like chickens, apples, or what have you and get a few hand towels that would go in the kitchen and then you can wrap them in boxies and put the gift card in the box.

You could always just wrap them in shirt gift boxes.

Maybe you could do a tin of popcorn and put the gift card on time. If you do this one get the popcorn tin when they first some out, they will have a good amount that is not dented when they first come out.

Maybe you could do a movie night or game night basket for them and put the gift card in there. The movie night some micro popcorn, candy, a movie and put the gift card in there. The game night one same as above but a game.

Find the ordements that say our new home or make them one wrap in a box and add the gift card.

The list can go on forever with this one. Me just to be smart with my family I would find like 6 boxies that are just a little bigger then the next put the gift card in the smallest one, wrap then put in the next size up box wrap and so on until you have all 5 boxies in the 6th box wrap and put under the tree.

What every you do have fun with it.

are great - but I agree they have to have a few bells to dress them up.

In the past, I have put them in chinese take out shaped boxes from the craft stores filled with candies.

Wrapped them in a box with jingle bells so they rattle if shaken.

I have also found large mouth water bottles for sports nuts and gotten the cards down inside it, so there's something for them to open and use.

If they are coffee drinkers, you could get them new mugs, add a pack of flavored coffee or two and the gift card.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

I had forgotten about this thread :). I have actually found a few creative ways to give all these cards. Pinterest is going to get me in big trouble. I did put my nephew's Itunes card for his bday today in a tervis tumbler with basketballs on it and then wrapped it up in blue celephane wrapping with curly ribbon.

For Cmas I am using the "pop the tab" method I found on pinterest, using pop top veggie or fruit cans, but opening them from the bottom and sticking the stuff in and then hot glueing the bottom of the can back to the can. Then I'll "wrap" the outside of the can with Cmas paper :). Easy and cheap!
