Hi all,

I'm going to WDW solo next month and I think one thing I really wanna do while I'm there is create some magic for other guests and families :)

On my first trip we got fast passes from a random guest who wasn't going to use them (on our first day in the parks) and that made our day!!! And then we did the same for some others throughout the week.

Now that I'm going solo, I think it's kinda silly to give a family 1 fast pass, what's the point of that? lol so I was wondering what you would appreciate as some extra magic? I was thinking of offering to take some photos for families... I saw a family's trip video and they sprinkled mickey confetti under the doors of their neighbours, I thought that was cute.

I was thinking of perhaps paying for a family's snacks or something in line behind me or ahead of me as an idea.

Anyways, what would you appreciate? and what kind of magic have you created or received from other guests???

I think this is a wonderful idea! You could look for a family who looks like they could use a little extra cash and buy a balloon for their child. I know when we were a young family just getting to Disney emptied the wallet. Never had the cash to buy the balloons or the cool parade glowing toys for our little ones. I would have fallen over with joy if someone simply gave my dd a balloon. I say go for it! And you have inspired me...we are headed there in two days....

We get stickers from CM's and always ask for extras. Many times we have given them to children who are crying and screaming and the parents are looking stressed. It often calms the kids down straight away and really helps out the parents, if only for them to regroup and calm down :thumbsup2

In the past years, we have bought small Disney things from back home. There are so many sales here where you can get Disney Books from $2 (the smaller ones, about half a A4 size) bracelets ect and often just randomly pick a family to give them to. We always ask the parents first before the kids see it, just in case they say no :)

I love the idea of buying a balloon or something for a little one because we too are a young family and that would mean so much. I might also find a newly married couple and treat them to a snack to congratulate them. I really like the idea of the confetti, or maybe offering to pay for someone's drink or qs meal. I also think just being really friendly and talking to people, watching for buttons, etc is great!

I really commend you for this, so many times people only care about what irritates them about others in the park. It's really nice to see someone who wants to spread joy.

We are going in February - and my daughters (ages 12 and 9) are planning to take extra glow sticks / bracelets / etc., to hand out to kids during the evening hours for during the fireworks, etc....

I think the balloon or light up toy for a child is a great idea.

Stopping to take a family pic is also nice, there's always a designated family photographer that ends up being left out of a lot of the pics.

Not sure about the confetti or how that works, I wouldn't be too happy to find it by my door since my toddler son would want to eat it.

Maybe give some pins away.

I took glow sticks one time. (The fat kind on a string) My grandson shared them with a little girl about his age that was sitting near us. They had a blast dancing to the music at Fantasmic. I bought glow stick star wands and swords at the dollar store for this trip. I bought glow hoop earrings for a girlfriend trip. They were 3 pair in a pack for a dollar. So many ladies asked me where I got them. I wish I'd bought several packs to just give to people when they asked. Just keep your eyes open while you are out shopping. Walgreens had a lot of Disney trinkets. I recently bought Disney tattoos. They were $1 and had about 4 pages of tattoos in each book. Making magic for other is a wonderful idea. With that is your heart, you will make magic whatever you do.

You could pick up the tab for another family's dinner or lunch.

Oriental Trading has cheap glow sticks/bracelets/necklaces cheap.

I recently bought Disney tattoos. They were $1 and had about 4 pages of tattoos in each book.

I'd be worried about potential confusion/suspicion concerning drug-impregnated kiddie tattoos. That could kill a coupla hours of park time if someone reports "this total stranger giving out tattoos to kids...".

These are all fantastic ideas!! I especially love the balloons! Will definitely keep note of that. I also like collecting pins so I think it would be cool to surprise a kid with a free pin :) maybe over hear what pin they really want but can't afford and buy it for them :)

Thanks :) looking forward to hearing eveyone elses ideas too!

I am a scrapbooker and one of the punches in my collection makes a little envelope. I punched several of them on Disney paper and tucked a wishing penny inside them that I would hand to little ones around Snow White's Wishing Well. I also just left a few of them on the rim of the well. I also printed "Make a Wish" with a clipart star next to it, several times on light blue paper that I cut into small rectangles that I left in the envelope with the penny. It was inexpensive but made people smile.

Looks kinda like this.

Yesterday , our last day, while at lunch we gave away all our doubles of our Sorcerers cards to a family which just started playing that day. Probably gave them 35 different they didn't have. The borhter and sister just lit up smiling. I was glad we could make thier vaction as magical as ours.

We always offer to take pictures of families or groups where one is off taking the pictures. They usually really appreciate it.

DH also makes Mickey earrings and gives them to brides...........well to the groom to give to his bride. It always makes them so happy!

I've also given away some of my trader pins.

I like to play the games in Dinoland at DAK,but I just play for fun.:)

Usually there is a child and their parents playing at the same time who don't win anything,so when I win,I hand the prize to one of the parents and explain that I was just playing for fun.:)

Since they saw the CM hand me the prize, they don't have to "worry" about where it came from(sadly, the world in which we live makes parents "leery" of "gifts" from "strangers").:)

They usually then hand the prize to their now excited child and I am on my way feeling happy.:)

And how would that family look? Holes in their shoes? Missing teeth? Lots of kids?

This would definitely be difficult to figure out. I'm pretty sure that most people visiting WDW aren't truly in need of material things. I do think it's a nice idea to spread a little kindness, but it would be better to do lots of small things for many people, rather than one big thing (i.e. buying balloons, pins, meals, etc.) for just one family. There have been many times when my family was stuffed onto a crowded bus, and it made may day when someone gave up there seat so I could sit down with my wiggly toddler.

Yay! Random Acts of Kindness... love it! Good for you - you'll feel awesome! :goodvibes Have a great trip! :)

During this past trip there were 12 of us and we had gotten fast passes for soaring and unfortunately we decided to leave the park and weren't going to be able to use them so as we were walking to the buses just after leaving the park I handed all 12 to a family of 4 and told them to have fun

I love doing this for other families, especially ones with younger children. I seem to always have some little kid get attached to me when I'm in the parks. I try to take pictures for as many families as possible and give directions whenever I see people who look particularly lost. The other thing that parents really seem to appreciate is when their kid is acting particularly whiny or afraid of a ride explaining how it's not scary/cool. I came across a little boy once who was absolutely petrified of Fantasmic because he thought his parents were trying to trick him into going on Tower of Terror. I could see his parents were getting frustrated and I stepped in to assure him that this was the line for the fireworks and that it was possibly the coolest thing ever. He calmed right down and we started to talk about his favorite rides while his parents got in some much needed adult conversation time with my mom.

The only thing I would be warry about when it comes to buying things for children is to make sure you ask the parents first, for several reasons. For one, there may be other children in their party who aren't with them at the time. There is also the possibility that the parents may not want their child to have a balloon or ice cream or whatever for some reason. When it comes to purchasing things for others, I'd find a couple and offer to buy them a round of drinks.

I LOVE the idea of picking up the tab for a family in front of / behind you as a QS location. As a single mom, I speak personally when I say it would be the world! :goodvibes
