Crazy....lunatic neighbors!

Ok we have a crazy neighbor. To make the story short this neighbor and us have had an ongoing legal battle over issues with their property. Recently they installed a fence and on the side facing us they graffitied (on their own fence) "BEWARE WE ARE WATCHING". Now we have to look at this eyesore/threat all day. We can't paint the fence because its theirs. Is there any legal action we can pursue?

I guess you could put up another fence right up against it, that way you do not have to look at it anymore. Not sure about legal action.

I would take pictures and then plant a hedge or build a fence on my side of the line so I wouldn't have to look at it again.

I would start making calls to the city. There must be some ordinance that covers eye-sores. For example, if our grass/weeds get too tall, the city will send out a letter to cut it or they'll cut it for you and send you the bill. It also applies to too much litter in the yard. Yeah, I know, it feels like big brother is watching us, but it does ensure that the neighbors' yards don't get too overgrown and lower our property value.

I hope your city has some ordinance that covers the fence.

Do you live in my neighborhood? We have a neighbor who put up a camera facing our bedroom and then got mad when he found out he could not run a junkyard from his house.

My sister-in-law had trouble with a neighbor like that, except he put up a mirror in his backyard facing their house. All because she left her back flood lights on at night. Her husband worked nightshift and she told him she wouldn't turn them off. So he said he put to mirror up to reflect the bad mojo back on to them. Weird.

Me too! Weirdos! I think I would move, but until you get that blocked from view it would scare away any potential buyers. I really would call the city and report it.

They sound like the type of people who thrive on making others miserable. I know it's probably incredibly hard, but I say for you to do nothing. When they see that it's upset you, they've won, and the more they know that have that power the more they are going to push those boundaries.

ITA. I am kind of twisted, so I would ignore the fence, but laugh when I saw said neighbirs.

I have always found bagpipes to be both soothing and tend to drown out all other sounds.
