Crafts, spreadsheets and pixie dust... oh my! A PTR for May 2014

We are only 3 days away from making our ADRs!!!! Also the trip is officially booked!!!!! :cheer2::cool1: Plane tickets bought (with points), and resort and park tickets booked and pay in full! :beach:

After careful consideration we ended up cutting a day. We decided we didn't need a whole day off, and we could use the extra vacation time. So that helped the budget a lot. Mr. Incredible also wants me to add Biergarten back to the ADRs. He said he loved watching me dance with goose, and I only have so many years to polka with Goose. Well that won me over. Here's to hoping we get all our ADRs!

i'm so excited for you!! that is all awesome stuff! we are two days from being able to make FP+ selections and it's killing me! :rotfl:

it's too bad you decided to cut a day, but I'm glad it helped the budget. you're spreadsheets got me all excited to see you make it in under your numbers! I can't believe i'm actually excited about math! :rotfl2: I guess it is Disney math though....

I've got my fingers crossed that you'll get all your ADRs. we've actually never had a problem getting in where we want, so i'm sending our pixie dusted luck your way! we're trying Biergarten this trip for the first time. it was my husbands pick, I think the girls will love the dancing and we're going on my birthday--it's bound to make us all happy!

and, just because I haven't done one in a while....random smilie!....:crowded:

Isn't it funny how putting the numbers on paper makes it almost exciting? My husband has been much more laid back about the budget (which is unusual) but I am like, it is on paper, it has to happen!

I saw you were able to get your FP+ booked! I can't wait to see how that works out. Oh and :santa:

In the words of my 3 year old "Tada! I did it! Hooray! Yippy!" (There is no shortage of self praise in our house, we celebrate everything!)

I woke up at 5:00 am, curled up in front of the computer and got all my ADRs booked. I did the character breakfast first then moved on to the one's I thought would be hardest. We got close to the times I wanted on everything. Hooray! Yippy!:yay::woohoo:

Yay so glad you got your ADRs! That is always so fun and nerve wrecking at the same time! We love 'ohana and we really liked Yak and Yeti, based on your TR it looks like we need to try the Plaza.;)

Yay for getting your ADRs booked... You have two of our must-dos in there. WHOOT!

It looks like you enjoy eating at the Plaza? We have not eaten there - but it's on our list to try this time (if it doesn't get vetoed by bff) - have you eaten there before?

Congrats on getting your ADRs booked!! You have some really great choices there.

Thank you! We are excited :cool1:

We liked it last year. We didn't have anything too exciting to eat, but the atmosphere was nice, the food was good, and it gave us a nice break from the park.

Mr. Incredible LOVES the Plaza, but it could be that it was our first Disney Dining experience :confused3 The food is good though, and it was a comfortable environment. You can get some healthy options there (the strawberry salad is amazing) so it can be a nice change of pace.

The Plaza was our first TS last year. We loved everything about it. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, the service was amazing, the food was fresh and delicious. Mr. Incredible LOVED it and as an added bonus Goose did too! I had the strawberry salad, DH had the chicken sandwich, and Goose and the mickey meal. We then had a banana split for desert.

Here is the section on the plaza from my TR. It has some desert pictures so I thought I would include it.

We then headed over to the Plaza for our ADR.

We don't go out to eat with DS a lot at home, so I was a little apprehensive about our ADR's, but I am so glad we gave it a shot. The plaza was a great break from the crowds for everyone.

It was so open and inviting. It makes it really enjoyable that they don't just pack a bunch of people in. DH and I had looked at the menus ahead of time so we were able to order right away. ..

I had the chicken strawberry salad, DH had the grilled chicken salad, and DS had the chicken strip Mickey meal. We loved, loved, loved the food here. The CM suggested the raspberry lemonade, and I am so glad she did. It was absolutely refreshing.

We couldn't resist getting some ice-cream for dessert. DH and I split the bananas split and DS had the ice cream that came with his meal.

This year I plan on getting the same thing I had last year the first time round and trying the Reuben the second time. Mr. Incredible wants to try the meatloaf the first time round, and the vegetable sandwich the next time.

It seems a bit silly going to the same place twice when there are so many restaurants we haven't tried, but Mr. Incredible is a creature of habit, and he loves that place! He gets a twinkle in his eye just talking about it! :goodvibes

Mmmm... That looks delicious! I really want to try it on our next trip! And - as an added bonus - I love reubens. LOL

Good morning... I know I am a bit early - but I won't have time to do this tomorrow. So, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Tasks D!!! I have been MIA a while because of travel, and it was so nice to see this when I logged one! Made my day. You have a great thanksgiving as well!

Hello all!

It has been a while! First, we got our little custom Disney booklet in the mail yesterday! It is so exciting to start getting trip related mail from Disney!

We also took a little trip to Kansas City to see some family. I had never been to Kansas City and Mr. Incredible hadn't been in 15 years! What a great city! There is so much to do with little ones, and a lot of it is free! We stayed at the Crown Center which was connected to Union Station, LEGOLAND, and the Aquarium. It was great because we were able to walk everywhere with out getting all bundled up each time!

Here are some of the trip highlights.

The view from the hotel.

The walkway from the hotel, otherwise known as the "Link"

Train set at the Crown Center.

Union Station (my favorite)

Lobby of the hotel

Fritz - The food was not very good at all, but it gets delivered by train which is pretty awesome! Goose would of loved this, but he was on an antibiotic for an ear infection, which he started having a reaction too this day so he was on Benadryl and pretty grumpy most the day.

The Aquarium

LEGOLAND

We returned to the hotel with a Duplo "firefight truck". Look at the grin!

We also got to visit a fire station thanks to a great Uncle. :firefight

We visited Strawberry hill and got some povitica bread.

continued next post

We went visited the WWI Memorial

And the Federal Reserve and Mint. Which was really cool! You couldn't take pictures in the section where they make money or of the vault, but you could see it. Goose loved watching the robots!

Believe it or not we also fit plenty of visits with family in that short trip. If you are looking for an inexpensive quick family trip, I highly recommend Kansas City! There is so much more we could have done!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! Goose and I are busy making pies today! I may post photos of that too later, and I will return to actual Disney related stuff too, but since I know you guys like to travel too, I thought I would share our KC adventure :)

I have to admit, Kansas City was not really on my list of must-visit cities, but you've made it look pretty awesome! Especially the aquarium, I love aquariums! Definitely adding it to our list now. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

I've always lived close to K.C. and have never really enjoyed it (mainly because there was never ending road construction for.ev.er!) but you all look like you had a blast! I have to admit that I do love worlds of fun. If you get back when goose is bigger, that's a lot of fun--no Disney, of course, ;) but still fun.

Oooh - Thanks for sharing! It looks like you all had a wonderful time! I love that photo of Goose under that huge Christmas Tree - so adorable!!! And the tour of the Federal Reserve Bank/Mint looks awesome as well - I am super geeky about touring landmarks like that. :)

I have to admit it really wasn't on mine either! I think it is one of those surprising hidden gems of a city. Another city I absolutely love is Milwaukee. I went there with a group while I was living in Chicago, and was so surprised by what a great city it is!

Looks like a fun trip! We love KC! I hope you had some BBQ while you were there!

That is the only thing on my list that we did not do! Of course they have pretty good BBQ where I am from too, so I suppose that is okay!

Luckily we didn't have to spend a lot of time on the roads (and we when did I wasn't driving :drive:) My husband remembers worlds of fun from when he was a kid. He talks about it all the time!

I think that was Mr. Incredible's favorite part. Mine was Union Station, but I loved the mint too. I wish I could have gotten pictures of the robots. Goose had so much fun watching them. every time they would move out of view he would say "where did robot go?" and then when they came back he would jump up and down and say "there it is! There robot is!" It was like the ultimate game of robot peek-a-boo!
