Coming in for SWW on June 6 with breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 9:20 and want to hit the parade at HS at 11:30 (I've got a feel the force reservation so want to hit the park around 11. Lucky! ;) Otherwise I would've been skipping the parade altogether!)

I'm watching the reservations for Chef Mickey's to see if I can score an earlier RSVP but I doubt that'll happen. (Possibly can show up at 9:10 and squeeze in a little earlier)
I figure we'll be done with breakfast just before 10. I should really take the bus to HS from the Contemporary to get there on time for the parade.

But... (you knew there was a but coming... right?)

I'm going with my parents who have never been to Epcot before and the way this trip is shaking out our only chance to hit Epcot will be after the parade at HS (we're going to go back to HS that night for dinner and the fireworks). I'd like for them to be able see Epcot from the monorail coming in but that means taking the monorail from CR to Epcot and then pick up the boat from Epcot to HS.

How much time would that take? I'm thinking not more than an hour? (I'm aware it's risky - I'm trying to figure out HOW risky.)

Thanks!

Actual travel time on the monorail and boat is likely just about an hour, if no stops on the monorail occur, but the risk will come from waiting for transport to arrive. You'll be waiting at CR (likely not long), waiting at TTC to switch from the resort to the Epcot line (again, likely not long), then the monorail ride (20-30 minutes) then you have to consider walking time from the front of Epcot where the monorail lets guests off, all the way to the IG at the back, which will probably take at least 20 minutes, and that's if you're walking fast and it's not too crowded. Then you'll have to wait for a ferry (up to 30 minutes) and you have the slooooow ride to DHS. There's no way you could do the trip in an hour.

I agree, it will take longer than an hour. It's a long walk from the monorail station to the International Gateway boat dock. You will have to go through security at both Epcot & DHS.

Thanks - That's what I was thinking.

What I'll probably do is see the parade and then take the ferry from HS to Epcot for lunch. (Or possibly I'll do HS on my own then meet back up with them at CR or MK to go to Epcot. They're not big SW fans like I am ;) )

Without going to Epcot at all, you will probably only be at HS between 10:20-10:40. This will leave you no time for a walk through of EP.

As others have said its not a straight shot on the monorail from CR to EPCOT. In a ideal world if you walked right on to the monorail and it left as you sat down, then you would make it to the front of Epcot between (assuming you are out of breakfast in less than 40min and seated right away)10:20-10:40. The line through security will take a couple of minutes at each park. Its about a mile to the back of Epcot and a 30min walk or boat ride to HS.
There doesnt seem to be anyway you can make it to both of them.

I would check to see if you should even be heading to HS at 11 on a SWW. On several days the parks hit capacity and close.
