Happy to report that we have power and Internet again!!!!!! Lori, DH gave the envie to our letter carrier today, the PO has no power yet for customers to come in, but we have been getting mail, almost every day. The destruction is crazy to other parts of our area, so we feel blessed to have only an uprooted tree that blew out the transformer, and sparked for just a few minutes. When help was called by a neighbor who could see it happening, the incident was over, and no fire! I normally work at home, but was able to go to the Bronx office today, which had no outage. I packed PJs and a change of clothes, because I was going to sleep at my DS , who only lost power for an hour Tuesday. I wasn't going to sleep in the cold again, if I could help it.

Our close friend lost his house in Breezy Point, which his family had for 5 generations. Again, Praise to God that there was no loss of life in over 100 homes destroyed.

One thought about my shopping trip yesterday...I went to JC Penney to use my $10 off coupon, the one that really isn't a coupon, yesterday afternoon. I figured I would find something in the Jrs dept for DD18. Nope, nada...I couldn't find a single thing at Penney's that I thought she would like. And, I was unimpressed by the quality of the clothing. I ended up using my "not a coupon" $10 off email to buy DD15 a pair of yoga pants -- Final price $3.23.

I was glad to get such a great price on the yoga pants; but, I don't know that I will be going back to JCP anytime soon...Unless, of course, I get another $10 off email.

I need to apologize to RDRJJ5- we were hit pretty badly by Sandy in my part of Jersey and I haven't made it to the post office yet. Our home is in one piece, but we just got power back and when our power is out we don't have running water or heat so it's been pretty rough here. I promise I will mail you a mega envelope this Monday and again, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

SoScary'09- I received your envelope last week just fine, but there was a pretty big tear in the edge of the envelope. I don't think anything fell out but you may want to tape your edges so all your hard coupon clipping work doesn't go to waste Looking forward to your envie this week and getting back into the swing of normal life.

Tink471 - I did get an envelope out to you on Wednesday. I just got internet and cable back to post. I was so lucky in this storm. We just had a bit of siding damage and was one of the few on Long Island that got back power after 24 hours so now we are hosting all our family and friends who need hot meals, showers, heat and charging of electronics. Kids go back to school on Monday. Just counting our blessings!!

Hope everyone affected by Sandy is safe and recovering!

VitFamily - I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry - I forgot to mail your envie this week - we have been dealing w/hurricane business in NJ... we were ok here - but, my office has no power - AND we have relatives staying w/us because they have no power, no heat - and 4 feet of water in the lower level of their home!! I'm so glad you made out ok and your power is back. Many of my family members still don't have power and since its gotten so cold my home feels a bit like a hotel I did get your envelope from last week. Thanks! Don't go crazy trying to get the envelope out by Monday, I've seen the insane gas lines and I know that I'm not going anywhere unless it's close and necessary.
