Hi, I'm not a DVC member but will be staying at SSR for the first time in September due to a fantastic deal Disney were offering.

I've looked through these boards and gained lots of useful information about SSR, and seen all the beautiful pics. I just have a couple of questions I haven't seen mentioned on other threads.

What's the room charging limit when you stay at SSR? Is it $1500 like the deluxe resorts, or is it different?

Are there taxi's available outside SSR or do you need to ask someone (like bell services or front desk) to call one when you need one?

Thank you very much.

Hope you love SSR as much as we do! (We own most of our points there)!!!

Yes, the charging limit is $1500--as far as I know, it works exactly the same way as it does at the non-DVC resorts....once you hit $1500, Disney puts the charge thru to your credit card and then you start over w/another $1500 limit.

Occasionally there are cabs in front of SSR, but mostly not...Bell Services calls one for you if you need one. It's very quick. I don't take cabs often, but have done so a couple of times and neither time did it take more than five minutes for a cab to arrive from the time Bell Services called it.

Hope you have fun at one of our favorite places to stay at Disney!

Can I ask when you were able to book SSR? We were trying to book a 2 bedroom for 9/20-9/26 2009, but everyone keeps saying it is unavailable? :confused3
I'm trying to use the Bounce back code for free dining & 30% off.
I'm just going to keep trying! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your stay at SSR! If you enjoy working out, you'll love the workout facilities and the walking paths. It is a beautiful resort, and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Just curious what is the "fantastic deal" Disney offered. How much a night? Was it specific to SSR?

Thanks,
Dennis-

We booked back in November through the Disney UK site. Hope you get your bounceback deal.

It was an offer that Disney's UK site ran, 40% off at either SSR or OKW, plus free dining. I don't know how much the room portion works out at per night because our package includes deluxe dining and a 21 day park ticket, but for the package we're paying £188 per night for a 1 bed villa. I was really happy with this deal, as we were looking at staying at AKL again, but this offer meant SSR worked out quite a bit cheaper.

That works out to be about $130 USD per night! You did indeed get a great deal! Congrats!

188 British Pounds is 273.63 US Dollars. Still a GREAT deal for what the OP is getting with the package.

Oops, yep, you are correct I divided when I should have multiplied (or crossed the t when I should have dotted the i, or something like that ;) ).
