I always enjoy seeing the MAKEOVERS in the Women's magazines. It is amazing what a change in clothes, a new haircut and makeup can do to a women.

My question is how did the women allow themselves to get so frumpy in the first place? There is so many vehicles out there to allow women to improve their appearance. Why do women insist on wearing their hair exactly like they did in 1976? Why don't they use some better makeup? Some new updated clothes would be nice?

Do you know anyone who could seriously use a MAKEOVER? Would you tell them? Would they listen to you?

Be honest now. Could you use a MAKEOVER, like the one in a Womens Magazine?

Nah,aside of the extra 10 pounds I'm fighting. I'm pretty happy with the way I look

I know I could. I don't usually wear make up (unless we're going out or it's a special occassion, and even then very sparingly..base,powder, eyeshadow and lipgloss. That's IT!) and I usually run around in jeans and raggy old teeshirts.

I don't wear nice things because...well..we can't exactly afford them and this ain't Wisteria Lane. I don't feel the need to get dressed nicely to clean house or walk out to the mailbox! :rotfl2:

Besides...for me, nice=preppy=No way jose' are you getting ME in something like THAT!

TOV

until I got sick a few months ago-- and had to rethink my daily routine to account for side effects -- I hadn't really changed the way I do my makeup, hair, etc. in several years.

if something works, sometimes you'll keep on doing it out of inertia..until you realize it doesn't work anymore.

I honestly think I look fine. I do have a similar haristyle to the one I had in the 80s but not nearly as BIG....LOL! I dress nicely, wear makeup etc.

That being said though I would love to see what someone who knew what they were doing could do to me. I would love to go on What NOT to Wear and just see what they would choose for me and I would love for Nick to do my hair and Carmendy my makeup. Just to see the difference.

Lots of answers to this . . . convenience, hard to break out of the routine, too busy taking care of others (children, spouse, parents, etc.), lack of available $$$ to buy better makeup and clothes.

Many women have a tendency to put others' needs first and pay attention to themselves only as an afterthought. Getting ready in the morning is done by rote so that they can get on to doing what they consider more important things.

As for me, I want to be selected for "What Not to Wear". I keep telling my husband to nominate me!!

Constantly making myself over. I find it fun and DH likes it, too. Variety really is *some* of the spice of life. Thing is, you need to know what works for your body type, age and personality. When you really know that you can be confident in making good changes. :teeth:
