Could this be our last trip to the World for awhile...Final Plans 9/11

HA HA HA Change of plans... Crack me up! this time they are all on you and can't blame those 2 beautiful girls for changing your plans and secretly getting popcorn out of the deal! !! :lmao: :rotfl2:

OM GOODNESS!!! Lost that much weight! CONGRATS!!! that's amazing!!!

You and Tess both are on the Frozen kick!!! I can't wait to hear about it later..

:lovestruc

Yes, Mark knows about this. We had thought about the Wild Trek, but because he was a little overweight, he was a little leery about it. The next trip we will do that as he has gone down three pants sizes!

Wow, that is awesome. Tell Mark I said congrats on losing three pant sizes. :thumbsup2

Love your change of plans. I'm looking forward to reading about it when your Pre-TR becomes a TR instead. :goodvibes

I am 18 days out, and when I found out that for some reason Disney changed the hours to the waterparks on Sept 2nd, I have been contemplating changing all of our plans. I just can't bring myself to do it. Changing FP+ and reservations is a bit scary at this point. I will see how things go.

Sounds like a PERFECT change of plans! :goodvibes I am hoping Disney chooses to extend the Frozen events just a weeee bit more...because Anna and Elsa have been traveling on the Fantasy during the Frozen summer events! :thumbsup2

I like the change of plans! But, is there anyplace else you can eat besides DHS? The Mara before you head over there? I haven't eaten at the Mara yet, but it has to beat the DHS options.

I think a change in plans is always fun. I think it isn't a proper ptr unless plans do change, lol ;) Sounds like nice new plans. As for food we've eaten at ABC commissary once, I like the salad there- but know it's not for everyone. And other than Sci-Fi and snacks at Starring rolls we usually eat at the hotel before or after our DHS plans. So my only suggestion would be to grab a bite before you leave your hotel. :confused3

Kathy, if we plan changers stopped writing pre-trip reports, there wouldn't be any reports to read. You know how many times I changed our plans for our last trip.

Now, speaking of your plans, I can certainly understand why you'd change them. Cynthia and Jeff and the Frozen celebration are well worth changing things up for.

Good change in plans!!
I am trying to figure out if I can squeeze in a time for DHS to see the Frozen stuff, but I'm pretty tight on time on my short trip.
But I sure hope I can connect with you and Cynthia even for a fly-by hug! I am at 43 days today!

This is why I should NOT do a PTR...I'm always changing things. But this is a good change.

As I am sure many of you know, they extended the Frozen Summer fun through the end of September.

Therefore, after Mark and I arrive at the airport, pick up the car and check in at AKL, we are going to head over to the Studios to go to Guest Relations (does any one know what time they are open to...this would be the one outside of the park?) and get our AP's extended.

We will probably grab something there to eat (not my favorite idea).

We are then meeting Cynthia and Jeff (eandesmom) at the Tune-In Lounge at 8 p.m. and we will join them to watch the Frozen fireworks at 8:45 p.m. It should be a fun night. I've had the opportunity to meet Cynthia once (we had lunch together when she was in Chicago for a business trip), but I've not met her hubby and I am looking forward to it. Mark too is looking forward to meeting both of them.

Seems like a great change of plans. Should be a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

There's decent food to be found at the Studios. I'm sure you'll survive. :rotfl2:

Mark lost 3 pants sizes?! I know just how hard that is. Yeah for him!! :cheer2:

Dis meet and Frozen fireworks sounds like a great plan.

I am not an AP but, I would have thought that you could upgrade at home right before you leave. Is this not so? Just curious.

I love our meet plan but UGH I am with you on the not excited about eating there. Obviously there are close places at Swolphin, BC and BW but that is kind of going backwards. You could also consider hitting Guest Relations at the IG instead and grabbing a bite from the F&W kiosks and then taking the boat over to DHS. Of course if your car is at Epcot that doesn't help much.

I love our meet plan too! We may just grab something on the way from the airport; we will see how long it takes to get our luggage and rental car. If necessary, we can always check into the resort AFTER the Studios too.

Or I could leave a parking pass for you for the Boardwalk :) Just a thought.

That's not necessary, but thank you.

I'd probably hit The Mara before driving over if it were me (and I'd be starving by then anyway lol).

I think on way from airport or Mara; again, we will see how long it takes us to get out of the airport. They actually had an ADR available at 50's, but Mark did NOT like our meal there at all last year.

That sounds like a fun change of plans!

I think so too. :)

It is tough when you have to find a new job, all of the unknowns that come with it. I hope that he finds something soon so that you know. I may have missed it, but what all do you plan on doing in Arizona? My mom wants to go there really badly, but I'm not sure what all I personally would want to do if I vacationed there, I don't know much about the state.

He may only get a part-time job; he may just take his social security in January and do something a couple of days a week, plus his baseball...at least until we move to Florida. The reason we were going to Arizona (and still hope to) is to see Mary, Jeff and the girls (this is the Mary that I do my girls trips with). Mark has been to Arizona with Andy for a baseball camp many moons ago, but I've never been.

Hi! I'm following along; very new to PTRs. I love how relaxed y'all are on vacation; so much wonderful pool time! I'm hoping our trip next year will be nice and relaxing, but knowing my family we will be go, go, go!

:welcome::welcome: thank you for joining in (I would have welcomed you sooner but I needed to get a major update done on my TR from my June trip). Mark and I have decided at our ages and for the number of times we've been to Disney, that we really need that relaxation time. Trust me, when the boys were little, we'd open and close the parks.

Sending you DH good vibes on the job hunt, that is never easy, but I'm sure it'll work out great!

Thank you; no, it won't be easy with the economy and his age, but I'm sure he will figure it out. I think he is getting bored at home. Or he is just tired of working on his "honey do" list. :rotfl2:

Also, the tour at AK looks amazing! I LOVE AK, might become my favorite park... Can't wait to see what else you guys have planned!

AK is creeping up to be my second favorite park (nothing can replace MK in my heart); I have really grown to love AK.

Yay for a DIS meet with Cynthia and Jeff! :cool1: Love the tune In lounge and the dad's lemonade. So yummy! The Frozen fireworks sound like fun! :thumbsup2

Okay, what is the Dad's lemonade? I've never been to the Tune In Lounge so have no idea what they have. I think the Frozen fireworks are going to be a blast.

Trying to catch up on everyone's trip reports, but its hard since I can't access the DIS at work any more.:scared:

Tess, no worries; you get here when you can. You've been having a busy summer.

Sounds like a good change to your plans! I still need to go back and catch up some more....

I think so too...especially since it means I get to see Cynthia again.

When exactly will you be there in September Kathy?? We arrive the 25th , no sure of flight times as yet but it will be early Thursday by 10:30a at latest ( they just LOVE having Carol and I get up in the wee hours of the morning)I know we overlap with Cynthia but again am not sure of her dates !!:confused3

Rosie, we arrive Friday, September 19, and we leave around 3 p.m. on Friday, September 26 (this is when we will start the drive to Marco Island for 10 days).

Love the change of plans! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Ann.

HA HA HA Change of plans... Crack me up! this time they are all on you and can't blame those 2 beautiful girls for changing your plans and secretly getting popcorn out of the deal! !! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Maybe I can talk Cynthia into a popcorn? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

OM GOODNESS!!! Lost that much weight! CONGRATS!!! that's amazing!!!

I'm not sure exactly how much he lost; I do think with the additional baseball games this year, he may have lost more in inches than he did weight; but I am proud of him nonetheless. He probably needs to lose a bit more (as do I), but he looks great!

You and Tess both are on the Frozen kick!!! I can't wait to hear about it later..

I LOVE Frozen; I have the CD playing at work right now.

:lovestruc

:)

Wow, that is awesome. Tell Mark I said congrats on losing three pant sizes. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Bob; I will tell him.

Love your change of plans. I'm looking forward to reading about it when your Pre-TR becomes a TR instead. :goodvibes

Hmmmm....I don't recall saying I was going to do a TR for this trip. :confused3

That IS a good change of plans! Sounds like fun.

Thanks, Katie; I can't wait to see all this Frozen stuff.

Great change of plans! And there's nothing wrong with changing plans...

Absolutely not, Darla.

I am 18 days out, and when I found out that for some reason Disney changed the hours to the waterparks on Sept 2nd, I have been contemplating changing all of our plans. I just can't bring myself to do it. Changing FP+ and reservations is a bit scary at this point. I will see how things go.

No way would I be changing ANY of my FP+ times; I'd be afraid I'd screw it up and lose them all. I have changed a couple of ADR's in the last couple of weeks, but I definitely hear what you are saying.

Sounds like a PERFECT change of plans! :goodvibes I am hoping Disney chooses to extend the Frozen events just a weeee bit more...because Anna and Elsa have been traveling on the Fantasy during the Frozen summer events! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Connie. Oh, that would be so nice if they had them on the Fantasy for your trip. :goodvibes

I like the change of plans! But, is there anyplace else you can eat besides DHS? The Mara before you head over there? I haven't eaten at the Mara yet, but it has to beat the DHS options.

As I mentioned in my response to Cynthia, we will either do Mara or grab something on the way in from the airport. If it weren't such a nightmare at DTD, we could go there which had been the original plan to fix our AP's.

:confused3

Well, now that you put it that way, I guess you are right. Oooh...the ABC was not good to us the one time we ate there. Yes, we normally do Sci Fi or Mama Melrose, but at this late date nothing was open.

Kathy, if we plan changers stopped writing pre-trip reports, there wouldn't be any reports to read. You know how many times I changed our plans for our last trip.

You have a point, Lisa. And at least as of now, I've not made nearly the changes you have.

Now, speaking of your plans, I can certainly understand why you'd change them. Cynthia and Jeff and the Frozen celebration are well worth changing things up for.

Doesn't it sound like fun?

Good change in plans!!
I am trying to figure out if I can squeeze in a time for DHS to see the Frozen stuff, but I'm pretty tight on time on my short trip.
But I sure hope I can connect with you and Cynthia even for a fly-by hug! I am at 43 days today!

Thanks, Sheree. We definitely have to talk to see if there is somewhere we can hook up if even for just a quick hug.

Seems like a great change of plans. Should be a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

I think it will be and so glad Cynthia suggested it.

There's decent food to be found at the Studios. I'm sure you'll survive. :rotfl2:

Where? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Changes rock...just sayin'.....:goodvibes

This from the QUEEN of change! Love you; now go and enjoy your trip to Disney!

Mark lost 3 pants sizes?! I know just how hard that is. Yeah for him!! :cheer2:

Thanks; I am very proud of him.

Dis meet and Frozen fireworks sounds like a great plan.

Yes it does...and I am so looking forward to it.

I am not an AP but, I would have thought that you could upgrade at home right before you leave. Is this not so? Just curious.

Let's see if I can make this long story short. I wrote Disney after our trip in December (there were some things I was not happy with and after 25+ visits, I feel like things should be certain ways...Castmember helpfulness, etc. When I wrote them, I told them we would not be renewing our AP's which expire September 15. This happens to be 4 days before our arrival next month. We were just going to buy park tickets. Anyway, Disney called me within a few days, and was sorry for the issues we had encountered, etc. They then told us that after the numerous times we have been and our loyalty, they wanted to extend our AP's for a month so we wouldn't have to buy tickets. Who was I to argue? The only thing is we can't do it until we show up at Guest Relations with the number they gave us.

Well, that explains it. I am glad they came around and finally made things right. I'm glad it worked out for ya'll! pixiedust:

Nice change in plans. Glad they are extending the Frozen Summer fun. WE did see the fireworks and they are a nice addition but they do close down the back half of the park early for them so if you ever plan on doing something else it is very crowded.

The Brown derby has a lounge .... only appetizers but some yummy drinks and the food was good {spoiler} from my trip.

We've had good food at both Backlot Express and the Fairfax Fare/food court area on Sunset Blvd the past couple of trips. True, they don't serve anything all that special or unique, but the food has been good for what it is.

So I guess this means you and Mark will be going to the ABC Commissary.
