Could this be our last trip to the World for awhile...Final Plans 9/11

Your trip sounds great so far! I loved the characters at Crystal Palace. We've done dinner there, but all of the characters were so great!

Does Mark every buy any of the hats he tries one? Does he ever like any of them enough? I love the hat pictures!

We don't have any specific dates for the girls trip, but we have a rough budget and we're working on saving up now. It will be sometime after February next year so my parents can help out with the boys after they retire.

That sounds awesome!

Oh my.. this is going to be one trip report i am really looking forward too!! You guys are going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!! Oh i hope you all go to the Halloween Party!!!

We love all of our trips; I love my girls trips, but this has been a long time coming meeting Tim and the family and so very excited.

plans are looking great! you are going to have so much fun together!

Lisa, I believe we will. :)

Tim - love the video at 1900 Park Faire...the Mad Hatter was totally crazy! loved his interaction with Pooh too!

I watched it again and just laughed and laughed.

okay after seeing your plate of food at CP we are going to make it there in April! we want to try different restaurants this trip since we don't know when we will be going back.

MY favorite character breakfast by far.

getting to watch the fireworks from Top of the World at BLT is awesome! the lounge is great and bonus...no crowds to fight on the way out!

It sounds amazing.

Looks like a fun way to start the day... with both sets of friends.

I think it will be great!

Great job! :thumbsup2

So happy we could work that out...Mark wants to ride Buzz with Christopher for some reason; I think he is up to no good!

What??????? :confused3 Why can't they leave crap alone??? I can't keep up with all these tweaks to the system.

As I explained in my PM to you, it's just that you see Elsa and then you see Anna...they got rid of Aurora.

That's amazing that you have made friends here that have been there for you through all of that! It's really special.

It truly is, and Nicki truly is the sister I never had.

I am sort of from all over the Chicago-land area. Grew up in the South Suburbs, after college lived in the city, and now I am living in the North Suburbs of Chicago!

We lived 25 minutes from Wrigley when we got married and then moved to the Western suburbs. Our oldest is moving to Bucktown in two weeks.

I am not sure how to post my trip report- but let me give this a try! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3308246

As you know, I found it and am following.

I'm not sure how to give it a name rather than just the link but it should work!

You did great!

:yay::yay::yay: thanks for being here Sheresa.

Ok, so maybe I exaggerate a tad. ;) I am the only one who would choose to go there. The guys actually don't care for it because they are not fan of buffets in general (except Boma...Boma they like). Kira attempts to avoid not so much because of the food choices but because the atmosphere is a bit much for her. She has had one too many challenging experiences there. Zoe is the only one who I would say doesn't mind it (well, and probably Josh...but I have only traveled with him once). Does she like it? :scratchin I think Zoe is just happy to do whatever anyone wants to do. She is pretty easy going. The one area that she is more picky about though is food... so while I think she doesn't feel drawn toward CP, I do think she probably likes it well enough or I am sure she would let me know. :goodvibes

Well, I Hope you get to go back some time. Perhaps our paths will cross on a trip and you can join us. :)

Sounds like a great morning! I have yet to eat at CP for breakfast. I'm fixing that come December with an early ADR. I'm excited!

:yay::yay::yay: you are going to love it; be sure to get the puffed French toast (it's in the kids section ;)).

What a fun day you have planned there. I can only imagine how much fun the conversation will be at breakfast. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun stories after your day together. :thumbsup2

I think it will be a lot of fun. My husband is dying to have some time with Christopher and probably teach him things his mother would prefer he NOT know. :lmao::lmao: Seriously, he wants to have a sword fight with him and do the hat thing. I think they are going to get along famously!

Thought I posted this before but I see it's not there so I will do it again.

So very excited to get to meet you, can't wait!!!!!

Looking forward to it. When the trip gets closer we will have to compare notes of what parks we overlap at.

Ugh on the cold. Doesn't it know what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?

Yeah, seriously! My supervisor at work arrived in Vegas on Saturday and flew home on Wednesday and she got it too...and sounds worse than me.

Hope you feel better soon!

Jill in CO

Thanks, Jill. It is finally breaking up after a lot of Mucinex.

Feel better soon!

Thank you. :flower3:

Welcome home Kathy! I hope you are feeling better soon.

D~

Thanks, D. And thank you for this...you have no idea how touched I was and how much it means to me.

OF course I am. Aren't I always? :rolleyes1

True; oh...and guess what I found?????

Still haven't made a decision about this….. :rolleyes1

Just let me know when you know.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hopefully you left with more money you went with- that would make me feel better anyway. :scratchin

Yes, I came home with more money than I went with although NOT as much as I won thanks to a certain travel companion who needed money after he ran out. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Seriously, the cold was one thing that didn't need to happen at all.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you.

Your trip sounds great so far! I loved the characters at Crystal Palace. We've done dinner there, but all of the characters were so great!

Tigger is a favorite of mine along with the puffed French toast so it's a given that we do it every trip.

Does Mark every buy any of the hats he tries one? Does he ever like any of them enough? I love the hat pictures!

No, he hasn't. He likes them but knows he will never wear them at home.

We are past the midway point of the trip (only two more days after this). Today was supposed to be a total relaxing day. And then I signed us up for something here:

We are signed up for the Backstage Safari at the Animal Kingdom. A small description from Disney World's site:

"Wild About Wildlife?

Set out on an eye-opening tour of the facilities where the animals are cared for, and experience an exhilarating safari.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is a lushly landscaped oasis that’s home to more than 1,500 animals representing 250 species. Learn about the unique challenges involved in helping them thrive as you:
•Visit the Animal Nutrition Center and see how over 3 tons of food are prepared and distributed each day.
•Go behind the scenes and explore a backstage animal-housing area.
•Tour the state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, where you may even witness animals being treated.
•Stop by the Animal Programs Administration building and learn how Disney promotes global wildlife conservation and animal well-being.

In the midst of your tour, enjoy some light refreshments and collect a memorable keepsake.

A portion of the tour proceeds is donated to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund."

I thought this would be something Mark would really enjoy as he LOVES animals. He seriously should have been a veterinarian.

After that, we will hang at the AK. We will go to lunch at Flame Tree which we have missed the last couple of trips.

After lunch, we have FP+ selections for the following:

First will be Festival of the Lion King where I will be searching for Poolrat's monkey.

Then Mark will be heading here:

After that we will go and see the Nemo Show.

We will skip Rafiki Planet this trip since we did it in August, December and June. I will try to get on Dinosaur in the standby line by myself and we will probably do a few of the trails.

As of now, I have us just hanging at the pool in the evening. This may or may not change...who knows. I may make it an Epcot night since I may have to change our Sunday night (September 20) from Epcot to the Studios since they've extended the Frozen stuff through September and I want to see and experience some of it. We shall see.

Up next, a two park day

Very cool about the backstage safari. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 That should be a lot of fun.
LOVE the Nemo show
And Epcot or relaxing by the pool both sound like a nice way to end the evening.

Very happy you like the wallet... I've been trying to get it done for you for months - I really wanted to send it with your Dumbo bag, but I ran out of time.

Your plans sound amazing... We love AK and the backstage safari sounds super FUN! It will be a great day!

D~

the backstage safari sounds great! I'm excited to hear about it! Hope you had a great time in Vegas!

The backstage safari sounds fun, what a nice way to spend a day in the AK! Epcot will be good for the evening plans so you could see the Frozen fireworks at DHS on the 20th.

Hope you are feeling better!

That Backstage Safari sounds awesome! How long does the tour take?

Festival of the Lion King is a must do for me. I think it's worth the price of the day's admission.

How cool that you are doing the tour!!! That will be so fun.

I like your plans, they sound good! I think I would be with you on skipping RPW since you have hit it on many of your recent trips.

BTW, I will get to go back to CP. I got dh to agree to go with me to my breakfast musts in October. (happy anniversary gift to me. :teeth:)

Glad your back! I've missed you around here!!!

Cannot wait to hear about your tour! How FUN and exciting!!! Does Mark know about it?!?

The backstage safari sounds great!!!! And your countdown is in the thirties now :cool1::goodvibes

Hi Kathy! I'm back and trying to get caught up around here. I hope that little souvenir you brought back from Vegas has gone back to it's germ world! I saw your posts on FB and wished that if I hadn't been traveling I could have snuck over to Vegas with Michael for a quick hello!

As for your Sept trip plans, I love that you build relaxation time into some of your days. We end up forcing that on ourselves over the course of the time we are there so it's nice to have that time already set aside.

What a treat for Mark with the backstage safari tour. That should be fun. :)

Ahhh Crystal Palace, love that place. They definitely need to move that puffed French toast to the adult section. There's a longer line of adults in the kid section for the Mickey waffles and puffed French toast! I don't want to have to fight a little one for the last waffle so they should definitely move it! :rotfl2:

That backstage safari sounds really cool! I can't wait to hear about that.

The tour seems like an awesome idea. I am sure you will love it. ::yes::

Flame Tree BBQ....one of my favorites! I love their ribs. Yummm

Safari tour, FT, EE and Nemo...sounds like a great day!:thumbsup2
