Could this be our last trip to the World for awhile...Final Plans 9/11

Oh no, your last trip for a while!! I'm so sorry that Mark ended up losing his job. This is happening far too often these days. I hope that he can find something soon after your trip so that you can get back to your regularly scheduled trip planning lol Your plane look great so far, I love your resort choices!!

I hope Vegas was fun :) Sad to hear you caught a cold though!! :sad2:

Your AK day sounds wonderful! My dad and I did a Safari tour there probably about 13 years ago so I'm sure its changed since then- but it was AWESOME. We got really close to some of the animals!

I'm excited to try Flame Tree on our upcoming trip- I've never eaten there!

The Animal Kingdom tour looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to be able to do some of the tours sometime.

Ohh the Animal Kingdom tour is one that my friends and I were discussing recently. We were going to do it next year when we do our Disney Cruise then WDW trip, BUT they cancelled the cruise we wanted! Now not sure what we will do. I cannot wait to read about this on the TR!

Oooooh, the tour sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to do one of the Animal Kingdom tours but haven't gotten around to it. Can hardly wait to hear what you two think about it.

Love me some Animal Kingdom! I have done the Backstage Safari Tour. It's very informative, and you get to see a lot of backstage areas.

I can't wait to hear how the Backstage Safari tour is!

Festival of the Lion King and Nemo are awesome - I think we see them every time we go to AK! My niece was 3 last time we took her to see the Nemo show, and halfway through she put her hands over her ears and declared that she only likes country music:lmao: I was so disappointed...

oooh! they officially extended the frozen stuff? I need to plan around the fireworks if nothing else. Good news.

Jeff and Kendall loved the backstage safari. FUN!

All caught back up on your plans. Sounds wonderful. Love some breakfast at CP!!! Wonderful place to go with friends.
Can't wait to hear what you think of the safari. I am still trying to get to the zoo before summer is over. I could sit and watch the giraffes all day. Would love to get more info on them.
Hope you are feeling back to your old self again.

Forgot to say I loved the Mickey Balloon purse on your other TR so I LOVE the purse !!!!!

Thanks, Rosie.

Very cool about the backstage safari. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 That should be a lot of fun.

I know it is something Mark will really enjoy.

LOVE the Nemo show

I do too; we've not done it for a couple years so definitely time to go back.

And Epcot or relaxing by the pool both sound like a nice way to end the evening.

I think it is going to end up being the pool. :)

Very happy you like the wallet... I've been trying to get it done for you for months - I really wanted to send it with your Dumbo bag, but I ran out of time.

Thank you again!

Your plans sound amazing... We love AK and the backstage safari sounds super FUN! It will be a great day!

D~

I think it will be a fun backstage tour.

The backstage safari sounds fun, what a nice way to spend a day in the AK!

I think it will be perfect; and hoping to see lots of animals up close and personal...especially giraffes!

the backstage safari sounds great! I'm excited to hear about it! Hope you had a great time in Vegas!

Thanks, Shannon; I will be sure to post details about it in the TR. We had a great time in Vegas.

The backstage safari sounds fun, what a nice way to spend a day in the AK! Epcot will be good for the evening plans so you could see the Frozen fireworks at DHS on the 20th.

I think it will be great...a little something different. I think we are going to do the pool that night. But now that you mention Frozen fireworks...watch for the next update which is a change of plans for arrival day. :)

Hope you are feeling better!

I am better. I'm still coughing, but now it is a "productive" cough thanks to some meds I finally got from the doctor.

That Backstage Safari sounds awesome! How long does the tour take?

I believe it is 3 hours.

Festival of the Lion King is a must do for me. I think it's worth the price of the day's admission.

I have to agree with you on that.

How cool that you are doing the tour!!! That will be so fun.

I'm really looking forward to it.

I like your plans, they sound good! I think I would be with you on skipping RPW since you have hit it on many of your recent trips.

Yes, definitely not a necessity this trip.

BTW, I will get to go back to CP. I got dh to agree to go with me to my breakfast musts in October. (happy anniversary gift to me. :teeth:)

Wonderful!

Glad your back! I've missed you around here!!!

Thanks, Mo. I still have a lot of catching up to do.

Cannot wait to hear about your tour! How FUN and exciting!!! Does Mark know about it?!?

Yes, Mark knows about this. We had thought about the Wild Trek, but because he was a little overweight, he was a little leery about it. The next trip we will do that as he has gone down three pants sizes!

The backstage safari sounds great!!!! And your countdown is in the thirties now :cool1::goodvibes

Yes it is...37 to be exact (five weeks from Friday). I'm sure the safari will be great.

Hi Kathy! I'm back and trying to get caught up around here. I hope that little souvenir you brought back from Vegas has gone back to it's germ world! I saw your posts on FB and wished that if I hadn't been traveling I could have snuck over to Vegas with Michael for a quick hello!

:wave2:Brenda; I've missed you my friend. It's still hanging on and the doctor said it could for a couple of weeks; but I feel a whole lot better than I did. I was getting worried because we are off to Dubuque this weekend. We would have loved to have had you with us in Vegas. One day I will meet my best friend that I've never met.

As for your Sept trip plans, I love that you build relaxation time into some of your days. We end up forcing that on ourselves over the course of the time we are there so it's nice to have that time already set aside.

At our age, we truly have too. ;)

What a treat for Mark with the backstage safari tour. That should be fun. :)

With his love of animals, I think it will be perfect.

Ahhh Crystal Palace, love that place. They definitely need to move that puffed French toast to the adult section. There's a longer line of adults in the kid section for the Mickey waffles and puffed French toast! I don't want to have to fight a little one for the last waffle so they should definitely move it! :rotfl2:

I agree with you; and trust me, if there is only one left, I'm going to win that fight. :lmao:

That backstage safari sounds really cool! I can't wait to hear about that.

I think so too Clare.

The tour seems like an awesome idea. I am sure you will love it. ::yes::

I believe we will; we loved the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and I'm sure this one will be just as much fun.

Flame Tree BBQ....one of my favorites! I love their ribs. Yummm

And ribs is what I will be having. :)

Safari tour, FT, EE and Nemo...sounds like a great day!:thumbsup2

I think the plans work out perfectly! I won't be on EE though...Mark can go twice if he so chooses.

Oh no, your last trip for a while!! I'm so sorry that Mark ended up losing his job. This is happening far too often these days. I hope that he can find something soon after your trip so that you can get back to your regularly scheduled trip planning lol Your plane look great so far, I love your resort choices!!

That's not because of the job; we had planned on Arizona, Disneyland and San Diego next year and why no DW. But now that there is no job and not sure what Mark will find or do, not sure what next year will bring. I'm very happy with our resort choices for this trip.

I hope Vegas was fun :) Sad to hear you caught a cold though!! :sad2:

We had a blast in Vegas; yes, the cold is no fun. Summer colds are truly the worse kind.

Your AK day sounds wonderful! My dad and I did a Safari tour there probably about 13 years ago so I'm sure its changed since then- but it was AWESOME. We got really close to some of the animals!

Oh I am so glad to hear this! Thank you. :)

I'm excited to try Flame Tree on our upcoming trip- I've never eaten there!

Oh, I hope you enjoy it; it's one of our favorite counter service places.

The Animal Kingdom tour looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to be able to do some of the tours sometime.

This is one of the nice parts of not traveling with kids...you can do these kinds of things (although I'm looking forward to traveling with grandchildren).

Ohh the Animal Kingdom tour is one that my friends and I were discussing recently. We were going to do it next year when we do our Disney Cruise then WDW trip, BUT they cancelled the cruise we wanted! Now not sure what we will do. I cannot wait to read about this on the TR!

NO! I'm so sorry to hear they cancelled the cruise you wanted. That really stinks.

Oooooh, the tour sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to do one of the Animal Kingdom tours but haven't gotten around to it. Can hardly wait to hear what you two think about it.

I bet you that it is something that we will love and that you, John and Hunter will love. I'll try to remember to take good notes, Lisa.

Love me some Animal Kingdom! I have done the Backstage Safari Tour. It's very informative, and you get to see a lot of backstage areas.

Thanks, Sheresa, I love hearing from people who have done it before. You have me really excited about it.

I can't wait to hear how the Backstage Safari tour is!

I'll be sure to give lots of details, Sarah.

Festival of the Lion King and Nemo are awesome - I think we see them every time we go to AK! My niece was 3 last time we took her to see the Nemo show, and halfway through she put her hands over her ears and declared that she only likes country music:lmao: I was so disappointed...

We skipped them all together last year and usually do one or the other. I'm looking forward to seeing them both this year. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I LOVE your niece...she has great taste in music. Country is what I listen to 90% of the time. :)

oooh! they officially extended the frozen stuff? I need to plan around the fireworks if nothing else. Good news.

Yes they did, and yes you do. ;)

Jeff and Kendall loved the backstage safari. FUN!

That's right...I forgot they had done it. I'm really looking forward to it.

Breakfast at CP is the best. I think it will be especially fun with the three little ones this year. I hope you get to the zoo before summer is over; although September and October are lovely times to go too.

Hope you are feeling back to your old self again.

Not "my old self", but definitely better!

This is why I should NOT do a PTR...I'm always changing things. But this is a good change.

As I am sure many of you know, they extended the Frozen Summer fun through the end of September.

Therefore, after Mark and I arrive at the airport, pick up the car and check in at AKL, we are going to head over to the Studios to go to Guest Relations (does any one know what time they are open to...this would be the one outside of the park?) and get our AP's extended.

We will probably grab something there to eat (not my favorite idea).

We are then meeting Cynthia and Jeff (eandesmom) at the Tune-In Lounge at 8 p.m. and we will join them to watch the Frozen fireworks at 8:45 p.m. It should be a fun night. I've had the opportunity to meet Cynthia once (we had lunch together when she was in Chicago for a business trip), but I've not met her hubby and I am looking forward to it. Mark too is looking forward to meeting both of them.

I love our meet plan but UGH I am with you on the not excited about eating there. Obviously there are close places at Swolphin, BC and BW but that is kind of going backwards. You could also consider hitting Guest Relations at the IG instead and grabbing a bite from the F&W kiosks and then taking the boat over to DHS. Of course if your car is at Epcot that doesn't help much.

Or I could leave a parking pass for you for the Boardwalk :) Just a thought.

I'd probably hit The Mara before driving over if it were me (and I'd be starving by then anyway lol).

That sounds like a fun change of plans!

It is tough when you have to find a new job, all of the unknowns that come with it. I hope that he finds something soon so that you know. I may have missed it, but what all do you plan on doing in Arizona? My mom wants to go there really badly, but I'm not sure what all I personally would want to do if I vacationed there, I don't know much about the state.

Hi! I'm following along; very new to PTRs. I love how relaxed y'all are on vacation; so much wonderful pool time! I'm hoping our trip next year will be nice and relaxing, but knowing my family we will be go, go, go!

Sending you DH good vibes on the job hunt, that is never easy, but I'm sure it'll work out great!

Also, the tour at AK looks amazing! I LOVE AK, might become my favorite park... Can't wait to see what else you guys have planned!

Yay for a DIS meet with Cynthia and Jeff! :cool1: Love the tune In lounge and the dad's lemonade. So yummy! The Frozen fireworks sound like fun! :thumbsup2

Trying to catch up on everyone's trip reports, but its hard since I can't access the DIS at work any more.:scared:

Sounds like a good change to your plans! I still need to go back and catch up some more....

When exactly will you be there in September Kathy?? We arrive the 25th , no sure of flight times as yet but it will be early Thursday by 10:30a at latest ( they just LOVE having Carol and I get up in the wee hours of the morning)I know we overlap with Cynthia but again am not sure of her dates !!:confused3
