I'm serious.
My mother is still in a nursing home. I visit her a minimum of 3 days a week, oftentimes more often than that.
I spend at least 4 hours with her when I visit. I try to make her realize how important she is to me and how much I love her.
Well....while I was there, today, her roommate got mail. A late valentine's day card from her son who rarely visits, probably twice a year.
Mother's eyes lit up and she asked the woman bringing the mail, "anything for me?" The answer was "no" and mother got so sad. I felt terrible. I hadn't thought of sending cards because I'm with her so often.
I went out and bought a St. Patrick's Day card for her and have already mailed it.
Her birthday is March 1st. I think it would tickle her to get a lot of mail but I don't expect anyone to pay for the privilege. I'll cover the cost of the card and a stamp if you are willing to do this, just send me a pm.
I hope I'm not sounding greedy. I'm just trying to cheer up my mother who has been so very ill. We almost lost her over the summer. I'll do anything to help keep her spirits high.
Okay, I'm having second thoughts about this post already. I'm just going to click on "submit" and hope that I don't upset too many people.
