I was quoted a DVC price on a length of stay pass for 12 days (including the 10% discount and tax) from member services. It seems low to me, and I don't want to be surprised when I get there.

Adult $415.02
Child $332.02

Does this seem right?

The DVC discounted adult price is $391.53 plus 6% tax, not 10%.

That makes your number a good one; sorry but I don't have the childs price, but if you got to the Disney web site and discount their number by 10% you should be OK.

You'd probably be better off getting an Annual Pass. With no discount, it is (I believe) $370 for adults and $315 for children. This does not include water parks, but it is good for an entire year. If you book next year's vacation a couple of weeks earlier, you don't have to pay any admissions fees next year.

If you have a Disney Club membership, you can save about $15 per person on the AP costs.

To follow up on Granny, we just purchased our APs. With DC discount they were $354 apiece. Great price for our two trips this coming year....

CRobin, Thanks for the quick response. I'm glad that number is correct.

Granny, Thanks for the alternate suggestion but we love the water parks.

FYI - You can get a Premium AP that includes the water parks. List price for adults is $469 plus tax, and $399 plus tax for children. You can get a DC discount on these, but not DVC.

Here is a link to WDW ticket prices.

Just deduct the 10% DVC discount from the listed price.

The Premium AP is equivalent to the UPH pass- and includes admission to all theme parks, water parks, Pleasure Island and Disney Quest. If you won't be returning within the next 12 months, the UPH is a better deal than the PAP. If you can find a way to go back sooner, the PAP would be more cost efficient.

Enjoy!

Just curious, is the AP good for one year from date of purchase, or from the first day it's used? For instance, if I were to purchase one now, but now use it until December, is it good until April, 2003 or December, 2003? Thank you.

Thanks. I also wondered how and where the AP can be purchased.

You can purchase an AP at the Disney Store. They wil order it and you pay for it when it comes in. You can also order directly from Disney (website) but they charge for shipping. (Small amount, I think it is $3-5)

Assuming it's a new purchasebut not for renewals.

I'd suggest buying the AP at a theme park the day you intend to use it. With the other options, you will still have to activate the voucher at a Theme Park anyway.

Renewals are continued from the original date of 1st use.

Enjoy!

Buying an AP (or PAP) voucher ahead of time and then exchanging it in at the theme park for the real pass (and first day use) makes sense only if you know (or expect) there will be a price increase between the two dates.

When you buy the voucher, you lock in the price now (and pay the $$$'s now), but avoid any price increase that may take place between the voucher purchase and the prices in effect the day you activate the vouchers.

The other situations that makes sense buying ahead are when you can get a discount you would not be able to get otherwise, like AAA. Since it's been awhile since I bought a seasonal or annual pass, do you need to buy those vouchers at the parks or can you buy them at the resort now.
