Cost increase?

Is ABD like DCL and booking at the initial release is cheaper than if you wait. We are looking at 2017 as my DS will be 7 at that time. Wondering if booking early has any value other than more time to pay for it!

ABD does price like DCL. As the trips fill up, the price will increase, that's why when you look at them later in the year some trips are more expensive than others.

A good example of this is if you look at the Central Europe trip to Austria, Germany and Prague. If you look at the last trip in September 2015 and compare it to the exact same trip at the same time in 2016, there is a $1300 difference. The 2015 trip is $1300 more than the exact same trip in 2016.

We booked both our Backstage Magic this past February and our upcoming Central Europe trip when the rates became available so that we could guarantee the lowest price.

Cinderella's Slipper 2015 gave you the scoop on pricing. I just thought I'd add that you probably won't see any availability for 2017 until May or June of 2016 (except for a few trips like Costa Rica that have departures in the off-season or ones that have "Holiday" departures for Dec/Jan).

Backstage Magic also tends to book beyond the next year. They tend to have rates up to February of the following year. Right now they are showing 1 trip in January 2017 and 1 in February 2017 but both are adult exclusive.

I also wanted to chime in to say that if you are a DVC member, you are guaranteed opening day pricing regardless of when you book. So even if the price of a trip has increased since the release date, you will get the release date price. However, this is only a price guarantee and not a guarantee that there will be space on the particular departure you want if you wait to book.
