I just wanted to say this thread has helped me so much KatMark! DH and I just booked at CSR yesterday for our 2 year anniversary trip in June, and we are so excited! This trip was really a surprise, so there was a lot of last minute planning and I can't tell you how helpful this thread has been in a pinch! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Thank you, and I'm so glad it was helpful.

Happy Anniversary. DH and I celebrate ours at the CSR every year, including our 25th! Be sure to walk through one of the Casitas courtyards and sit on one of the benches and look for the stars...it is a beautiful sight.

Thank you! Congrats on 25+ years! We will catch up to you, I promise! :thumbsup2 We have requested Casitas 4 or 5, so hopefully we'll get to know those benches really well! :cool1: We are excited to be staying at CSR as we had planned on staying at ASMu or Sports. But for a reasonable difference we were able to do CSR with the new rooms, queen beds, fridges, and as DH pointed out THE SLIDE!!! :rotfl::laughing:

Our two favorite buildings -- Casitas 4 and 5! You will love the queen beds...I don't sleep well on vacation not being in my own bed, but I slept like a baby in these beds. And tell DH I LOVE the slide (and I'm 53 years old!).

For the past 3 years, every year we've gone to DW. Every time we've stayed at ASmo and have enjoyed our stay. This year we are going down for our anniversary (with the kids) and DH told me today to upgrade to CSR as my anniversary 'gift'. SOOOOOOO I am SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! :):) Now I see there is preferred, and therefore I need help!
I think I prefer Casitas for the theme, Cabanas is a good runners up. But the important things to us is refillable mugs and bus stops. We use both often enough that we should accomodate to the 2. I am trying to avoid booking preferred to save the $$. If I requested Casitas 5 is it close enough to the Dig Station to get refills?
Also, we like our internet. So the pilot program with Casitas 1 with free wifi is definitely an idea since we'd have to pay for internet (is it $12 or so a day?) I also would like to be close to the Pepper Mill and gift shop. So what are you guys' thoughts? Really don't want to upgrade to pref, but if it will fulfill all of our needs, then I might just do that. Especially if internet is included.

I don't know how long the pilot program is going to last and if it will be a full-time thing after the pilot program. Casitas 1, 2 and 3 -- all preferred buildings are close to the main building (registration and the gift shop, and Cafe Rix and the Pepper Market for refills and eating); those buildings are also close to Bus Stop 1 which is the last stop picked up and dropped off (Casitas 3 is a little closer to Bus Stop 2 which is first for pick-up and drop off). They are, however, a longer walk to the main pool. Casitas 4 and 5 are perfect for being close to the quiet pool; DH and I (both in our 50's) prefer this area and it takes me five mintues to walk to the main building and about eight minutes to the main pool (and I take pictures along the way). I believe the internet when I used it last year was $9.95 a day; if you book preferred, it is an additional $25 a night.

Thank you for posting such great information in this thread. I am seriously considering changing my mind for our August trip from CBR to CSR. The beds look heavenly and I am really impressed with resort itself. My only concern is what I've read and heard about Pepper Market. Decisions, decisions. :rolleyes1

Anyone know what time the quiet pools close in the evening or does it depend on the season you go? Dh would love to go for a dip after a long day at the parks.

Welcome. Personally, I'm not a fan of the CBR food court at all (I think the food is much better at the Pepper Market), but a lot of people don't like the set up of the Pepper Market.

9 p.m. is when they closed when we were there in September (although occasionally the security guard would tell DH as long as he was quiet and didn't do any bellyflops, he could stay in it. ;)

HAHA, Katmark, that was funny. Good to know. DH is a night owl and I'm assuming DD will be conked out fairly early so... It would be nice if he could go for a run and take a dip, he'll be thrilled!! THANKS!!

And true! My DH is not a small man by any means, and he promised he'd do no bellyflops (he is such a child sometimes). :rotfl2::rotfl2:

The hot tub is open until midnight as is the main pool (we've often been swimming at 11:30 at night and been the only ones in the pool).

OOO, the hot tub. He will LOVE that a nice workout in the gym and then the hot tub. He'll be so happy I picked CSR!!

difference between casita's vs cabana's ??? location maybe ?

The Spanish-style Casitas at Coronado Springs are very peaceful, with courtyards featuring tiled fountains.

The Cabanas at Coronado Springs have a relaxed beach feeling.

Pictures of the different buildings are on the first page of this thread.

I read that some of the more recently refurbished resorts have outlets built into either the desk area or nightstand. Does Coronado have any built in outlets? If so how many? It would be nice not to have to bring a powerstrip if they do! :yay:

CSR has a bunch of outlets. There is a power strip built into the desk and another power strip behind the night stand.

:rotfl: I have noticed this too! I am arriving the next day after most of you all, so I don't expect to get what I want at all. No worries though as long as we are there we will appreciate any room.

I stayed at CSR for one night while visiting family in Florida. I have to say I still prefer CBR. I was upgraded to a room that was just steps from the main pool after insisting that I had booked a water view room. I had been assigned a garden view room. After about 5 minutes the cast member at the desk called a supervisor and gave me a different room. I checked my ressie after returning home and I hadn't booked water view. I thought I had checked the box and upgraded for $28 more. I felt horrible about being so insistant, I was not mean or nasty, actually had quite a nice conversation with the cast member since my daughter's major is Hosptality/Tourism.
