Glad you had a great trip! Bummer about your bill! I have heard others have the same problem about their bills. Littlebelle didn't receive hers on her door before she left and she went to the front desk to get a printout and they said they couldn't do it? So perhaps there is something about the billing they don't have access to. Would be nice to know who did.

It's too bad the Disney resorts are designed for parties of 4. That extra person really throws a kink into it for many families. Rumor has it that once POR rooms are all refurbished that perhaps they won't have the trundle bed there for the 5th person. It that happens, that makes affordable on property vacations a challenge.

Thanks

That doesn't seem so bad. Seems like we will have lots of tractor trailers though in the parking lots.

We are there from Sep 23-27. DD will be there as part of the college program and we will see her as well as celebrating my birthday.

We arrive on the 23rd as well! :cool1:

We use the main address for our Garmin. It's 1000 West Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL. I think we've even gone to "points of interest" and typed Coronado Springs Resort and it's come up, but I may be mistaken on that.

ETA: I see you're from my neck of the woods. Howdy, neighbor! After you get on the Turnpike, get off at Exit 267A, for toll road 429. It's only about $1 or $1.50 toll and worth every single penny. When you get off at Exit 8 (which is only about 14 miles) and turn towards Disney World, you'll go a little ways and then under the Welcome To WDW arch, and a bit later, CSR will be on your left. Turn left at the light and turn left into CSR's main entrance. It's so fast!!

Thanks for the driving directions neighbor! I've noticed lots of NWFL people on here, turned out one member worked up the hall from me!

9 more days, I'm about to start rolling on the floor for sheer excitement! We're having dinner at Victoria & Albert, about how far of a drive is it? Just trying to plan out how long we can spend in the park before going back to the hotel to get all sexyed up for dinner

We will also be there in September. From the 16th to the 25th. Our very first time at CSR!!!!

We've been to WDW every year since 2005 for Free Dining. We have always stayed at POP. It's really our one and only vacation every year. My kids are older now, 21, 19 and 13, so although I love POP, I am thrilled to be trying CSR...I want to remain in the magic, but with a little more sophistication..lol. My dh is a sheriff's deputy, so this is actually a splurge for us. We save all year long and we want to make the best choices. I think CSR is it! I was wondering if I could get some opinions on a few things.

1. What is going to knock my socks off about CSR compared to POP? The Queen beds are what I'm most excited about. I'm pooh sized and my dh is 6'4. The double beds at POP are a pain and we are always so tired. Please tell me they are fabulous. Also I'm curious about the size of the room.

2. My husband loves to swim and does so every morning while we're on vacation. When I say swim, I mean he swims a mile every morning in the pool. He also runs on the treadmill every morning at home and lifts weights. I was thinking that the Casitas bldg 4 would be a good option for us. The only thing he asks for when we go on vacation is to be close to a quite pool so he can swim. The quite pool in the Casitas looks to have lanes for swimming laps, so I think it would be perfect. Also it's pretty close to a bus stop. Being close to the dig site is not a big deal for us, as we don't use the pool a whole lot. The kids don't mind walking over if they want to go. Am I making a correct assumption about the Casitas building 4? Are there any other areas that would be a good fit for us?

3. What is the good that bad and the ugly on the bus situation at CSR?

4. Does anyone have any experience with the Food Service Industry Trucking Championship that will be at CSR in September?

5. We will have 3 rooms, hopefully ground level poolside. I hate to ask for bldg 4, connecting rooms, (there will be 10 of us) AND poolside. What would you ask for first? Or, what request is most often granted?

I just don't think I can wait until September!

 Hi! I'm from Panama City! I would allow at LEAST an hour from CSR if you're taking Disney Transportation. A bus to the nearest park and then the Grand Floridian bus. You could take a bus to MK, but then you have to walk all the way to the monorail station in your nice clothes, in the HEAT. Or you could take a boat from MK. I'm not sure how far of a drive it is, but I bet it's not over 15 minutes, or so.

Disney is building the Art of Animation resort across from POP, that will have at least half as family suites. It's allegedly a value resort, so that will make it more affordable for families of 5 or more.

1. The queen beds are fabulous! The other thing is that CSR is much more restful than POP. The neon & icons & music at POP give it an almost frantic quality IMO, whereas when we got off the bus at CSR we immediately relaxed.

2. Yes, it sounds like Casitas 4 would be perfect.

3. Casitas 4 gets you to the first bus stop (#2) to the parks, and the first to be dropped off. We were in that building and never had a problem with the buses; we never waited more than 10 minutes for one. And the buses back to CSR were always at the front of the queues at the parks.

4. Sorry, no experience.

5. I wouldn't worry about asking for poolside; Casitas 4 isn't that big, and if your DH swims every morning, he should be able to handle the walk! There's also a health club where he could do the treadmill and/or weights.

Enjoy!

Had a question about room choices. We are headed to CSR on Oct 15-22. According to the conventions list there is no conventions going on during our stay. I'm thinking that Cabanas 9B would be a great location for us. In the past we get up eat at the resort before heading to the parks. SO being close to the food would be nice. But we will also spend time at the dig site as well, so 9B would be best of both worlds. We currently have booked preferred rooms.

Joanne I will be there the same week and I basically had the same room choice question as you. Me and my bf like to be close to the buses, food, and dig site. I'm guessing 9b would be a perfect choice? Any other suggestions? We also have paid for preferred location.

Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are the preferred rooms, so if you've booked preferred, that's where you'll be placed. Cabanas 9B is offered as club-level accommodations to conventions (and the list on the first page is not a comprehensive list - it's just the ones Kathy hears about from other sources) and is not always available to the general public. We stayed in 9B on our first trip to CSR years ago and it was a great location, for sure! But I think it's pretty hard to get.

Cabanas 9A is also a good location that is close to bus-stop 4 and not far from El Centro, and 9A has the quiet pool, as well. We had a great room in that building another trip.

Hope you both enjoy your stays at CSR!

I would leave CSR 45 minutes before your ADR. It will take probably 20 minutes to drive to GF, then the self-parking for GF is not convenient to the actual resort (it's across the street), so unless you're planning to valet park, you'll need to allow time to park and walk to the main building, then you'll want to be at V&A 15 minutes before your ADR time.

If we want to use the toaster in the food court to toast some bagels, where is it located? Is it somewhere in the Pepper Market?

We will be at CSR in two weeks from today and requested connecting rooms in Cabana 8A.

I really don't care where we stay as long as it's not at the Ranchos. Should I update my request stating that I don't want to stay at the Ranchos or should I leave it like it is? I am now leaning towards the Casitas building 4-5 because the quiet pool at the Cabanas is under rehab.

I still can't really get a straight answer from anyone if online check in is worth doing.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's best to have the request on your reservation. I did online check in, and have done it for our last 3 WDW stays. I like the convenience of walking up to the counter and just picking up the paper work. I did ask when we checked in if she knew what building we were in. I was told 8A and 1st floor. When I made my request, I had asked for 8A, 8B, Casitas 4 or 5, and I did have on the request not to be in the ranchos, I also asked for 1st floor or near elevators. When I did online check in, I only checked the box for 1st floor, and we did get 1st floor.

I will be staying in WDW for 18 nights and will probably need to get my nail polish redone and eyebrows waxed. Does the beauty salon at CSR do this? Anyone tried it? :goodvibes

If we requested a water view room is that considered "preferred"?

No, preferred is near the main building (it will be Casitas 1, 2 or 3); you can get a water view most any where in the resort.

Valet parking is free if you're dining at V&A. They ask at the podium when you check in if you drove, and validate your ticket. So there's no reason not to valet park!
