11 days until we are back to our 2nd home! Don't think we are going to do online checkin tomorrow. We've always checked in when we get there and never had issue. That way if we don't like the room location we can ask to have it changed. We are hopeful that we will be in Cabanas 9A. We have a water view, so hopefully we will face the main lagoon.

Thank You!!!!!!!:dance3:

I can't wait to see this Wonderful Resort!!!!!!

I homeschool my 12 year old and we are waiting to take his Spring Pictures there! With the Lake I think they will come out perfect!!!:cloud9:

That's a great idea! I homeschool too. We usually end up at Walmart for a pic, but that would be so much nicer with a picturesque backround!

Did my online check-in last night! It won't be long now.... :)

Yay!!!

Back to CSR in less than two weeks! I can't wait. I've almost gotten my dh and dd talked into doing rope drop and morning emh with me- before they'll commit, though, they want to know just how early they'll have to catch the bus! Can anyone give me a rough idea of what time we should be waiting for the bus to get to the various parks for 9:00 rope drop, as well as for 8:00am emh? I can't remember if there was much difference in the travel times from CSR to each park- I know it's farthest from MK, but I can't remember any details on travel times. I really hope I can get them to do the early morning thing with me, but it'll really depend on what time they have to be a a bus stop :). Thanks!

Congrats on the less then 2 weeks!! Hopefully you won't have the crowds like we did over Mardi Gras. The bus was so full it drove right by us at stop 4. We ended up using our car. I think transportation runs an hour before park opening and comes back to the resort about every 20 minutes, but someone with more bus experience would need to confirm this for you.

Congrats on the 11 days! We have a couple weeks and a few days to go, but we aren't going home to CSR. We are Pop bound. You can still have your location changed with online check-in, but it would hold up the line a little bit. Fingers crossed for 9A for you!

Hello everyone! DH and I have our first trip to CSR planned -- coming up in 17 days.

We usually stay Deluxe Club Level for convenience when the kids are with us so this will be a bit of a change but I am excited and am looking forward to it. CSR looks like a beautiful resort.

I can't wait to walk around the lake at night holding hands with DH.

We leave in 5 days! WooHoo!!!
I read on another thread something about bringing a pool floaty for infants. I thought you weren't allowed to bring anything into the pools other than lifejackets. Is there an exception for infants?
Are water wings allowed for older kids?
Thanks!

I see that CSR has dry cleaning services..anyone know how long it takes and the cost?

We're having dinner at Victoria & Albert on Wednesday..I asked my husband if his suit needed to go to the cleaners of course he said no its good not wrinkled at all and trusting wife that I am I never checked it. Getting everything laid out tonight to leave first thing in the morning and yep its super wrinkled. I was hoping to drop it off maybe when we arrive and pick up Wednesday afternoon..Anyone use the service before?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to his as my DH would neve rlet me take a suit for him on vacation. :rotfl2::rotfl2: Seriously, I do know that the "laundry" that the hotel will do for you is very pricey.

We had a view of the Lake in Cabanas 9A in 2009 and it was lovely. Hope you get a great one.

This is part of the charm of CSR to DH and I; we love taking a walk around the lake holding hands once the sun has gone down and the lights are sparkling. As long as you are prepared that you are going from a deluxe to a moderate, you will enjoy.

I don't recall seeing a floaty (hopefully someone else can answer), but I have seen water wings on kids at the pool a number of times.

CSR is very beautiful. It was our first non-Deluxe stay back when it was first opened. There were only two things I sorely missed in the transition from deluxe to moderate, was not having a private balcony and not being able to walk or take a boat/monorail to a park.

When we were at CSR in March, there were children swimming with water wings. I don't know about the infant pool floaty. When our youngest was an infant he used an infant life jacket. CSR has a box of lifejackets near the water slide in an assortment of sizes on a first come first serve basis.

First off, we are leaving for Coronado in 15 days!! :woohoo:

Secondly, I think the WDW reservations site is having a glitch regarding Coronado.

I was checking to see what room categories were available during my stay (May 17-25) as this often is an indication of how full the resort will be.

When I entered 17th - 25th, it said there was no availability, when yesterday every category (Standard, Water, Preferred, Jr Suite, Jr, Suite - King, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom - king, and executive) was available.

That made me suspicious, so I entered May 18th - 25th and BAM, all categories available again. So, I checked all check in dates between May 5th (earliest available) and May 17th, and they all say no availability.

I have a friend that works at CSR and they rarely reach 100% capacity, even with conventions,l so it certainly struck me as odd! :confused3

The transportation issue is why we usually stay at a deluxe. I don't mind taking a bus to a park or two but having to do it every time all the time isn't my idea of fun when the kids are with us. We usually prefer to rely on Disney transportation instead of getting a rental car.

However this trip is just DH and I and it is about spending time together as a couple more than anything else, so if we have to wait for a bus, etc. not a big deal because it is about being together. I really like the fact that CSR is a convention resort and thought it would be a good transition from Deluxe to Mods for us. Although we have stayed mods and values in the past when we were both media guests of Disney.

I envy all of you who are able to take a couples only trip! I'm sure you and your husband will have a wonderful stay!

CSR is my favorite moderate! (I've stayed at all the mods except FQ, but staying there in Sept and have eaten there when we stayed at POR.) It just has so much more of a laid back, relaxed atmosphere than the other mods.

So, all of the new room categories at Cornado have me confused. We just booked for our first stay at Coronado for this December. We CAN'T wait! That being said, I really want a King Bed in the Casitas section. Don't care which building in that section, but I think we will like those the best because of their theming. So, that being said, when I booked our reservation, I booked a "Preferred Room-King Bed" to the tune of a bit more than $300 for the duration of our stay. So, my question to all of you, is do I have to book a preferred room in order to get Casitas? Or will booking just a king room give us the same odds?

King rooms are located in all areas and buildings. You could request Casitas 4 or 5 (which are not preferred locations) and pay for the king room, but the location would not be guaranteed. If you really really want Casitas and a king bed, you have booked exactly right. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip!

In the same tune as JessicaKnits, I'm checking in 16 days :cool1: with a King bed but not a preferred. I would much more prefer to be in the Casitas. Then Cabanas, then Ranchos. Just based on the theme. Should I call and request now or just wait until we get to check in to see if they have a Casitas room available? I haven't stayed there since 2002 and my DBF never has! I just want to have a nice, romantic, and beautiful setting for our vacation. Any thoughts?? TIA :goodvibes

I would call and have it noted on your reservation and do it now. It is always best to have your preference on your ressie, especially since rooms are now assigned by computer (you can always ask them to change you once you arrive).

There is a big bin of lifejackets near the Jaguar slide at CSR - in all sizes. But that's all that's allowed.

Interesting...

We are there from May 13th - May 21st. Early to mid May is usually not a peak time with the kids still in school etc. I can't see the resort being full. I sure hope it's not full.

I tested the WDW reservations site out again this morning. 17th - 25th and 13th - 21st had availability open again. I know that the reservation system (in fact, all systems, front desk, dining etc.) had down time yesterday. Perhaps there were a lot of glitches? :confused3

Could be... Let's hope so. I've also decided to do online check in. I wasn't going to before, but when I saw the room request spot I decided it would be easier to go that route. I assume that since I'm giving my request with the online checkin that I don't need to send the fax we had planned to send on Monday?

We are staying here for the first time in June! So excited :goodvibes This is also our first time staying at a moderate resort. We our going for our honeymoon so thats why we decided to upgrade from value to moderate. From everything I've seen and heard this resort looks beautiful! I had a question about rooms though. We didnt choose the preferred option for rooms but I am wondering if its possible to still request a specific type. I'd really like to either be in the casitas or the cabana's. I like their themes a lot better then ranchos. Is it possible to request this at some point?

You can add a specific section -- Casitas, Cabanas or Ranchos to your reservation now. Just remember that it is a request and not a guarantee.

If I just go to my reservation on the disney website will there be an option to do that there?
